Great place to leave my Dog. I have a Dachsund and he is very shy. He is not mean, but just not the most outgoing with people and other dogs. They are so great here at making him feel welcome. I feel so comfortable leaving him here. They are the best!!!! I actually had one of the staffers recognized him in the Greenlake area and he was really excited to see her. Makes me feel great!
Pros: Very Nice People, big space, very clean and really Friendly
Cons: None

I take my dog to the grooming dept. every few weeks or so and I love the service, and attention to detail. Ann is an awesome groomer and I highly reccommend her to every one I know. The retail area of the store is spacious and clean. The prices are a tad high for some products, but well worth it, in my opinion.
Pros: Grooming dept., selection, service

PAWS 4 Training offers a fantastic array of courses in terms of puppy obedience training and socialization. As a first time puppy owner, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience; as I entered into something that could have been challenging and frustrating, I was pleasantly surprised to find this experience not only educational, but also enjoyable!
Susan, the teacher and founder of Paws 4 Training, is incredibly well versed in dog care and dog training. She has a natural ability with animals and her techniques and tips have been incredibly useful when preparing to train my puppy. One of the best parts of the introductory course (puppy kindergarten) is the fact that it’s a wonderful way to ease your puppy into socializing with other dogs. The beginning course is also a rolling admission, which makes it extraordinarily convenient for newcomers. Susan’s courses are well structured, easing puppy parents, new and old, into training so that you can reap the benefit of a well behaved adult dog. Susan has gone above and beyond for my puppy, researching some of my puppy’s bad behavior on her own time and then presenting the information she’s found to us in class.
Paws 4 Training is also extremely reasonably priced, which makes it that much better in my opinion. I would highly recommend Paws 4 Training to anyone who would like to implement positive behavior in their puppy or dog.
Pros: Educational, fun, good for you and your puppy!
Cons: N/A

I looked after a friend's dog for a short period and had a little 'accident' (he ate a ball). Dog seemed OK but I was concerned and made many calls and drop ins to various vet clinics around the Seattle area. Dr Lamb was by far the most helpful. She seemed to really care more about the dogs well being than anything else. She talked me through options and gave me advice on how I can help the dog get it back out 'naturally'. I think she spent a good 20-30 minutes of attention over the phone and didn't try to sell me xrays or surgeries. At the end she even said, 'Please call me back and let me know if he is OK'. If I ever get my own dog. I will definitely call into Dr Lamb.
Pros: Nice and caring vet that is there to take care of your animal

This dog wash, Greenwood's semi-best-kept secret, has been our choice for years. No more struggling with big dogs in small bathtubs, keeping the curtain pulled back away from snapping teeth, and washing gobs of fur down the drain. Carrie and co. at Rub A Dub Dog provide everything we need for an easy, fast wash and dry--even when the dogs are less than enthusiastic!
Pros: location, staff, service
Cons: none that I can think of!

After I moved to West Seattle from California, I started bringing my two cats here on a coupon. We have seen most of the vets here, but in particular Dr. Johnson and Dr. Quincy. They are gentle and thorough and always take time to answer questions, explain options and treatments, and I have found them helpful in giving price estimates for planning out my cats' health care. They have people that come in for some specialized things like ultrasounds and cardiology, and refer out for more complex operations. I finally lost my two old kitties, and one of them I had put to sleep here. They were very compassionate, explained everything, and gave us plenty of time alone to say goodbye. They have also been very helpful assessing and treating my new shelter & rescue kitties who all had different problems when they came to me. Once or twice I have felt an individual missed something or I disagreed with a charge, but this has been more than compensated for by their long-term flexibility and caring. Unless your meds are time-urgent, do check first whether you can buy from Amazon, or even Costco or a drugstore, as most vets are pricer to buy meds from.
Pros: Great, kind, efficient service - generous hours
Cons: All vet care costs $ ! Ask about price of meds before buying
