I needed some repairs done on my roof, and after I called them and got the work scheduled - it was totally taken care of without any more of my attention! The worker came out and did a great job, the office people were totally professional and caring, and the price was right. Tom Leach Roofing was incredibly easy to work with and their staff are very friendly. Aaron came out to my house right after I called him and gave me an estimate. I was buying the house at the time and the roof needed to be done quickly in order to close. Aaron and his crew worked with me on this short time-frame and were able to get it done with time to spare. He was very helpful with suggestions on the color and materials for my roof. He gave me suggestions and guidance, and I felt I had great options to choose from to make my house beautiful. They did very high quality work and left no mess behind. I highly recommend them! more

Some years back we used Tom Leach to do some roof repairs and clean the moss off of our roof, and the service was excellent. Allen was so hardworking and polite. So, needing another repair this fall, I called Tom Leach again, but I couldn't be more frustrated with them. I never received a call back from my first message. My second message did prompt a call back, but the man who answered was surly and rude. He did promise someone would drive by and call with an estimate, which never happened. I made one last try, and the man who answered wanted to come out that day. But, he insisted on coming when I was home, which was weird, and then wanted me to come outside and show him the obvious repair, even though I had small children in the house, and then he said he would fix it right then if I would pay him cash or a check. His truck did say Tom Leach, but we had never had this kind of experience before. They always would drive by, call with a bid, and then bill us. I turned the guy down and will never call this company again. more

Tom Leach Roofing replaced the complex roof on our 1893 Victorian. They tore off the three layers of asphalt and the cedar roof beneath them. They put down a plywood roof deck and underlying. They also needed to remove the built-in gutter (old galvanized covered with rolled roofing)and build an integrated gutter system of copper. They also replaced a skylight and put in ridge vents (and needed a standard vent or two to get the right airflow). Our eaves are high and the roof is steep. Several roofers simply turned us down or didn't return our calls for quotes after they saw what we had. While our roof was expensive, this is nowhere near the highest price we were quoted and not too much more than the lowest. We get lots of people stopping on the street to tell us how much they love our roof. Who would have thought that a roof would get this kind of response? I have to say, they really did a great job. more

Tom's repair man Allen came and looked over the leak problem that we have had for 5 years now. I should mention we have had many others out to work on it to no result. He found the problem in just a few minutes, gave us the bid that we accepted. He came back the next day and did the work in about 4 hours. Since then we have had some really heavy rains that would have us drying out buckets but the leak is gone! It is fixed and we are thrilled. We looked over the work that was done and from my untrained eye it is really clean. The previous repairs were black goop spread all over the roof. This was all clean and looks good again. Tom Leach roofing did an excellent job on our house. We have used them on three different projects and every time they have been on time and on budget. Their crew is the best we have ever worked with too! Their employees really care about any concerns we had during the project and were right on top of the changes we requested. The clean up was impeccable. It looked much better after they left then when they arrived. We will continue using Tom Leach Roofing if we ever need another roof. We highly recommend them. We also had a dreadful experience with Tom Leach Roofing. We had a complete tear-down and reroofing job done 15 years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. They came back to fix a leak after dozens of phone calls, early on. Since then we discovered that they did not flash AT ALL, just used mastic, which over time, dries up and then there's nothing sealing the roof in important places. We've twice now, at about $1500 total, had a proper roofer (C & C Roofing is excellent--they shake their heads at the job Tom Leach did) repair the places where it's leaking, adding in the flashing where it needs to be, which is quite complicated to do--it involves taking up the roofing and redoing it around the flashing. I would never ever do business with Tom Leach again and hope this steers others clear of them. I called the Oregon Construction Board, by the way, which polices contractors, but you have to contact them within a year of when the job is done. more

Our roof suffers obvious water damage after 11 years. The roof was warranted unconditionally for 25 years against water damage or defective workmanship. The Tom Leach Roofing representative (Aaron Ortman, pres.) has not made a good faith attempt to resolve the issue in the 90 days we have been negotiating with him.
