We live in redmond oregon and come to Portland to go to the goodwill store. We have tried many places on mcloughin blvd and the grove is the best place we have found for the best food atmosphere and adult beverages. It is a 5 star place. Check it out. more

As a local business my family and I like to support local businesses. Lucky cash register has always been there for us and never hesitated to come out to fix issue on hand. FREE OF CHARGE!!!! Chris, the owner is very nice and will always go over things with you on the phone if it is an easy fix. Chris has managed to keep up with all of our 5 stores, making sure our registers function properly. I appreciate all the efforts and hard work. Chris takes her Job very serious and meets deadlines. Not only is this a frequent lunch stop for myself and my coworkers, its a pretty good place to go if you're going out with friends. The menu is large and the food is great (not just for bar food, but for any like-priced restaurant), the servers have always been really nice, and you don't start brokering deals to sell your first born when you get your bill. more

The grove has some of the best food in town just today while I was sitting here using their free Wi-Fi I heard a guy tell the bartender that they had the best steak in town. I would have to agree their food is hands down the best food around made from scratch and cooked to order. Not to mention their drinks that are always made like your Norm at cheers not matter who you are! The best part of ALL is they show every UFC PPV!!! Being a huge MMA fan I appreciate having a fun place to go thats close to home. more

first of all, i am certainly not known at the grove for pouring weak drinks. i think 9 out of 10 people at my bar would agree. (dont tell brent) secondly, i have never in 5 years poured someone well liquor and lied and told them it was top shelf. last but not least, i try to be accommodating to every person who walks in to my bar. if i had some bad experience with you (i.e. cut you off when you felt it was undeserved, etc.) i apologize. oregon is a state with very strict liquor laws that put a lot of liability on bartenders. all i try to do is stay right with the law, my boss, and my customers. thanks for reading! more

The Grove in Milwaukie is one of our favorite places to go. Great food and menu for all tastes. I personally like the light fare when I'm watching my calories, but the nachos and burgers with tots Rule! Tons of tv's, great drinks, UFC events, and great atmosphere. Beside short pouring your drink, I've seen Jesse pour house cheapy liquor and then charge for top shelf and tells you it's top shelf. Total ripoff. Then he laughs and tells the people sitting around the bar that he just did that. He thinks he is so cool and powerful to make fun of people. I feel horrible for the people he burns. THEN, when youv'e had 1 or 2 drinks, he starts short pouring because "the bar isn't making enough $". I bet it doesn't make $ because he puts the cash in his pocket. I am happy to spend my $ at Elk Rock, Dominicks or 7-11 before I'd give Jesse or Mike a nickel. more

This is the only place I can go knowing I will always get the best service with yummy food. This place does not just have average bar food. I have always enjoyed the home made soups! The pasta dishes are excellent. And if you just want a beer with hot wings, they have that too. Oh and happy hour OMG you have to have the sliders! Kareoke on Friday and Saturday nights are fun even if you are just a spectator. Oh I didn't even mention having a dinner sald with my favorite blue cheese. I am a 40 something and I know I tell all my friends and customers about the Grove. My daughters in there 20's also meet up with friends and have a good time. Something for everyone!!! more

This place is HORRIBLE! The waitress and male bartender I was exposed to while in this place were totally rude! Garbage food. Nasty drinks. HORRIBLE STAFF! Plus, the 2 chicks that were there besides my party were total skanks, I think they were sisters. One of the girls had a huge nose, was totally drunk and sloppy and talking very loud about lewd things. Total NO CLASS! I think her name was Stephanie. more

wow. never will go back here again. Last time I went about over a year and a half ago I remember leaving because of horrible service. Until last night me and my friends decided to go for $1 well drinks. The bartender was a complete a**hole when I asked if I could get two whiskey and cokes. "WELL WHOS THE OTHER ONE FOR?" um me because your damn line is so slow and your busy helping people on the side who you know instead of customers who had been waiting forever. yeah. I ended up later sitting at a table and a waitress came by she asked for two of my friends ids and I asked if she could get me a drink. she didnt answer me and ran off. she went by again and I asked. She said she was extremely busy and would be back. hmm never came back it had been twenty mins at least. I get in line to get a drink before the dollar drinks were over. bartenders helping people who were behind me, its 10:59 and we had been waiting 15 mins there. I asked for 8 whiskey and cokes for my friends before it ended. "oH well happy hour is over." we were like um this is what our clock says. "well my computer says its 11:01. SERIOUSLY he did that on purpose. theres even more im done. horrible service, never going back, do not recommend Pros: $1 well drinks Cons: poor service, not very friendly more

This was our 3rd visit in the last 6 months and it was just about the same everytime. Went in for breakfast and waited 40 mins before we ended up walking out. We were the 3rd group to complain and walk out without our meal. The owner was full of excuses why it was taking so long but it still did not make the service any better. If you are looking to eat anytime soon don't try here. This will be the last time we give this place another try. Pros: Location Cons: Poor Service and excuses more

I love this place, I drive across town to go out here. The owners are great and the staff is awesome. I love to karaoke, and play pool, no better place in town. Oh and the TACO pizza!!! Perfection!!!!! Pros: Pool and karaoke and much more Cons: none more

The Grove was not that far from my home and I remember it as a place that was always open. I had heard good things and went to try it with two of my friends. We go in and we sit down, we were told to sit anywhere. We sat for a while and our server came over with our menus and we ordered our drinks. When she came back with our drinks a few minutes later, my margarita was a bit strong, but it was tasty. My other friend had not arrived yet and so we decided on a pizza. Ten minutes go by and finally the server shows up and we order. They ran out of artichokes so we settled for just a half and half pizza without specialties. Our friend arrive and its been about more than 20 minutes. We are starving and the waitress hasn't checked on us in that time. She was busy off chatting with someone else, laughing away. Finally our pizza arrive about 30 minutes after we had ordered and it was decent. Not worth the wait but still good. We order more drinks and then sat and chatted. The waitress hasn't shown up with our bill. We waited for about 30 minutes and decided to go up and get the bill. We didn't see her and we stood there, waiting for someone to help us. No one even said someone would be with us. We stood in front of the bar, and no one helped us. We decided to leave without paying. We just about drove off when our waitress saunters out and says we have to pay. We told her we waited and we left her a penny tip. It was an awful experience. Even as we left no one said have a good night. Our waitress zipped passed us without another words after taking her receipt and talked with some supposed regulars. Needless to say, I will never go back there and I will never let anyone go there because no one should be treated less than a regular or a guest. The pizza is sooo good. Before the smoking law came into affect it was quite smoky, but now it is great. A good bar with the best pizza. They other food too, that is very good. more

There is something for everyone at The Grove! This place is like the perfect neighborhood bar. Not only does it have all of the fun and games; pool, jukebox, clear view TVs, karaoke, EVEN comfy couches!... the staff is super friendly and the food exceeds expectations. On any given night, you can satisfy your itch here. We pop in to watch a ball game on the TV and end up staying for late night happy hour because the deals are outrageous! I can't say enough about how comfortable this bar is. It's warm and welcoming and the food menu is suprisingly enticing. Pros: Games/Entertainment, Warm Atmosphere, Drink Specials Cons: The Unusual Suspects: SInce the place is right on Mcgloughlin in Oak Grove, it can get some pretty shady characters coming in. On the other hand, the character mix keeps things interesting! more

The drinks are great and strong! The food is excellent and you get huge portions for the price, good ol' pub food at its best! The karaoke is a hoot, the biggest downfall for me has always been it is so smokey. The staff is fun and sassy! more

The Grove Restaurant & Bar is such a great place to go. The TV's are beautiful! If you can't see your game, just ask your server and you can watch your choice of sporting events! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Sometimes, when it's really busy, the servers can't get to you right away, but you can see that they are working and not just standing around. The Bartenders are awesome, great drink choices. And the food - whoa, the food. We keep going back to try something new. The menu is large with a full choice of foods. Haven't had a bad meal (yet).
