Service terrible, uncaring, incapable of a job well done 7/11/2011

I can't recommend this dealership after my experience. I bought a brand new car, I had no problems with the financing and the sales guy was no nonsense. The second day I had my 2012 Accent I noticed some transport damage on top of the vehicle. OK, they agreed to fix it. On my way up there a sensor goes out(car has 300 miles on it) and they have to fix that too as my car suddenly becomes a very dangerous vehicle to operate on my way there. It wouldn't go over 20mph and I couldn't accelerate for some reason. OK, they fix that and tell me the paint and dent work for the transport damage is complete. I show up a while later as I work in north Austin and the transport damage is still there and I'm left wondering why Hector, the service advisor assigned to my car, gave me a call without making sure the work is done. Thanks buddy, I appreciate that by the way. So, I talk to his manager and he assures me they'll take care of it. I get back in to the shop, but first I called Hector and told him he owes me an apology for calling me and telling me to pick up my car and waste my time and gas to drive across town. He doesn't really seem to care, and neither does his manager, Mark, when I show up to drop my car off. Oh yeah, I almost forgot...my check engine light came on at about 600 miles as I'm on my way to the dealership yet again. So, I've had this vehicle for two weeks and it's already needed maintanence twice and two trips for body work. The manager is a complete dismissive jerk, and he is more concerned with wether his "guys were nice" to me then fixing the problems I have with my car. Also, the first time I picked up my car they left white dust on my vehicle and inside of it on the panels. Thanks for messing up my new car guys and for doing a terrible job of customer service. I understand companies make mistakes...I work in a small business and it happens. But, when you screw a customer over or the product isn't what it should be...you should really bend over backwards to make sure that customer continues to shop for your brand. I will never buy another Hyundai again, and I will not go back to South Point Hyundai again. I will make sure to write as many negative reviews about them as possible and I will recommend to all of my friends and family to avoid this place like the plague. more

Great service! 6/29/2011

Now, I'm not going to give a dealership five stars, but I was very impressed by the honesty of the sales guy I was with. I've been to dealerships before and they like to play games with you. I told this guy straight up that I am in sales, I help run a small business, and I know exactly the games they play there and if I get the sense they are lying or giving me BS that I will just leave. I did this in a cordial manner of course, and I'm glad that I did. Not once did he try to sugarcoat the numbers or hide things from me. He spend a couple of hours just bs'ing with me since we had some common interests and I got a pretty good deal on a brand new car with ZERO down and low payments that were below what my threshhold. Round Rock Hyundai tried to BS me and get to come into their dealership without any numbers. This guy worked with me on the phone until I was comfortable enough to come in and deal with those numbers he gave me. So long as they don't play games in the future, they will have my business again. more

Not Recommended 6/20/2011

I recently bought a used 2008 minivan from Southpoint Hyundai. Our initial salesman was great ("Scott") however the day we went back with family to take closer look at car, he wasn't there, and we had to deal with a salesman with beer breath and who liked to use the "f' word, thank goodness my kids were in the car and didn't hear is foul language. Needless to say, I did get the car (now regretful) as they promised to order a small part for car which they still have not honored, and a week after driving it off lot it's giving me the "oil change required" warning even though their sticker shows I have 2,000 more miles AND their sales manager said it passed thru inspection with "flying colors, no problems". Yeah right! I already had to take it in and now I have to get the wheel bearings replaced. I would not recommend Southpoint due to the unprofessional and dishonest salesmen that we had to deal with. It would be nice if people could just be honest these days. more

Run, don't walk, AWAY!!! Terrible Service 6/2/2011

The salespeople were the rudest, most arrogant bunch of scam artists & hidden-charge adders I have ever dealt with. Run away, go elsewhere; you will thank me. I was preapproved for a loan, contacted the dealership online and had my trade valued on their website. When I got there, the guy taking me for a test-drive didn't introduce himself, never shook my hand- common courtesies were AWOL. He spent 10 minutes quizzing me about "which website" I had been on - until my husband said "why does it matter? we want to look at a car". When I told the salesguy I already had financing, he silently started doing math with his fingers (WTF???) and then asked "what if I can beat it?" I said sure, I'd look at his offer. I then offered the cost of my trade (they valued it) + x amount to equal the asking price, NOT less! They declined my offer! I was appalled. "Codie" just shook his head and said 'nah'. The next day, the car I'd offered on was 1k more on their website. This is a scam operation and I hope they are shut down! more

Must I say 5/15/2011

So as we all know gas prices are going up and will probably never go down to what they used to be. It's all everyone is talking about these days. How to save on gas? Do we need a new gas efficient car? Which car should we get? Well if you're in this boat, I would highly recommend South Point Hyundai. We all know the stereotype of car salesman. How evil they can be. Right? Well SP Hyundai was the first place I went while shopping for a gas efficient car. I spoke with Tony Rodriguez the sales manager. He gave valuable info on the 2011 Sonata we test drove. He had no intention of pressuring us to buy as soon as we got back to the dealership. The customer service he gave us was impressive. It was so good that I took that experience with me to the other dealerships and compared how I was treated. After doing our research on the cars we were interested in, we made one last stop at a dealership, had a bad experience and went back to SP Hyundai with our decision made. There was NO BS from the time of purchase to the time we drove off with our new 2011 Sonata Limited. If you're interested in Hyundai vehicles I would definitely recommend these guys. Tony Rodriguez was our sales man and his finance person was Chris. Sorry forgot his last name but the only finance Chris there. P.S. You can't beat their warranty. more

South Point Hyundai goes above and beyond – not only pre-sales but also post-sales! I have a great experience with the dealer and mechanic shop and highly recommend Eiji Evans and South Point Hyundai A+++ more

Great Service! 9/5/2010

From the first time we walked through the door we were treated extremely well by everyone. By the time I was signing the papers and leaving with my keys I was very impressed. Hassle free car buying, I would highly recommend! more

Screwed us over 3/6/2010

Well, during the course of one year, there is me and 4 other people I know about who got screwed by Southpoint in South Austin. That manager got fired, and it is under new management, and they are taking no responsibility. We had a written agreement, stating the alignment was checked and new tires were put on on my '06 Santa Fe. Well, less than one year later we're moving back to California and come to find out, not only did they put OLD tires on the car that are completely worn down now, but the alignment is slightly off AND they did not even give us the lug nut key to take the last bolt off the tires! What is we broke down somewhere? We'd be screwed since we couldn't change tires! Well we went to the dealership, and not only did they state that since they are under new management that they are not liable, they will not replace the tires, check the alignment, show us the contract, and stated that they even do not have the lug nut key so they will break the bolt and that's it! And even now, with 5 days until we have to leave, they are saying they don't have enough bolts so they won't even break and replace the key bolts! So how the hell are we supposed t ever change a tire? POOR service when we first got the car, I was pregnant and in there fighting with them for 7 hours, and even the guy screwed up the paperwork twice, trying to put a higher value. This place truly isn't worth the effort. Pros: None Cons: Written. more

Friendly service, great cars 7/14/2009

I bought my first Hyundai Elantra two years ago at Gillman Hyundai. It was a pretty bad experience overall--everyone I dealt with was either dodgy or creepy or both (their finance people actually film you accepting their terms--WAY creepy) I had to call to find out if my license plates arrived (they were supposed to mail them to me) and I never received the title to my car despite paying it off a year and a half ago. They said they mailed it somewhere else--why should anyone hold the physical title to my car other than me!? It's no wonder the place was closed! A few weeks ago, my car was totaled and I wanted to get another Elantra. I went to South Point, planning to look at a pre-owned car I had seen on their website. Two salesmen (one training) came out to assist me, and regretfully told me that the car I wanted was already sold (word to the wise: their online inventory is not updated very frequently, so call ahead) but that they would be happy to contact me if a similar one came in. It was then suggested I take a look at the new inventory, which I was hesitant to do since I was trying to stick to the amount I was paid by the insurance company. Of course, I felt right at home on the test drive. The price I was offered was great--I didn't even have to negotiate! The finance clerk I worked with was very friendly and was happy to explain anything I didn't understand. No cameras here! I signed a few papers, paid for the car and went to take home my new baby. I was given a tour of the car, the books that are included and estimates of when I'd receive my plates, title and how. Last, the salesman took my picture with my new car for a calendar full of coupons and maintenance reminders that I'd be sent later. Not necessary, but just another example of how South Point goes above and beyond. Overall, I had a great experience at South Point. I also visited their mechanic shop once with my last car and had no problems. A+! Pros: Friendly associates, good location and new car inventory Cons: Online inventory not updated frequently more
