Best

I love Kelly's class at noon on Monday and Wednesday. Dani is very helpful even though she is not my personal trainer.

Worst

The gym itself isn't bad, it's the management. They are dishonest, have NO accountability and NO customer service. They lock you into contracts without telling you when they sign ...

Love it here! 8/17/2011

Andy is the best trainer I have ever had. He is extremely challenging and amazingly interested in my health training and personal growth. I love it here more

Rain Fitness Rocks! 8/17/2011

I love how open and friendly the gym is everyday. The classes offered are amazing and scheduled at times where you can attend after work. I have also been training with Taylor for over a year and couldn't ask for a better person! more

Great Gym!! 8/6/2011

I've been a member of Rain since 2006 and use both the downtown and the Terry Street facilities regularly. I have been consistently impressed by their efforts to update equipment and class offerings. Both locations are well run and impeccably maintained. The staff members are friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a really great gym! more

Highly Recommended 8/3/2011

Highly recommended! I have been a Rain Fitness member since 2006 and frequent both locations. Rain Fitness provides a great atmosphere with extremely clean and well maintained machines. I really appreciate the cleanliness of these facilities including the men's locker room. The staff at Rain are friendly, courteous, and helpful. It is nice to see the front desk staff helping to keep the machines maintained and dust free. This is the best run gym I have ever been part of and look forward to many more years of service. more

GREAT GYM!! 1/11/2011

This place has exceeded my expectations! Debbie is now head of all the fitness classes and she is doing awesome! Greatest trainer ever! I've met alot of the staff and everyone is helpful and very cool. Love the gym, and they are now offering TRX! I have signed up and it is definitely worth it! Great workout combining cardio and strength training and with Debbie teaching the program it definitely makes you sweat! more

AVOID!! 3/1/2010

Avoid this gym!! The contract is super shady. They won't let you cancel via the phone and you have to give 30 days notice. But when you give 30 days notice, that doesn't count towards your last months dues that you have already prepaid. So you really need to give 60 days notice, in writing, and this is only if you've already fulfilled your 1 year membership agreement, otherwise you will be paying the rest of the year. Horrible people to deal with. more

Stay Away! Horrible Customer Service by Stafff and General Manager! 2/24/2009

Stay away! Horrible customer service from the staff and general manager. When discussing with the staff a double charge on my credit card they said they were not able to help and to take it up with the manager. After following up with the general manager, Glen, he said that all he could do was credit my account another free month. Surprised by this, I reiterated that it was a bad charge and I was not interested in a free month - adding that if he didn't reverse the charge I would notify my credit card. He tried to tell me that if I disputed the charge they would take me to collections. Needless to say I am frustrated with the lack of customer service. I'm disputing the charge through my credit card as I believe this is an illegal issue as well. Aaron Lauper more

Lots of equipment and space - nice staff 11/1/2008

I've had nothing but friendly, respectful and encouraging treatment from the Rain Staff. I enjoy working out in a space that lets me have space and privacy. It's a beautiful space that allows one to be centered and calm while working hard. The manager, Glen, has provided the most encouragement with humor and grace. more

Do not join!! 1/25/2008

It is impossible to ever leave!!! I am moving to Italy and although I keep providing various documents and contacts proving that I am leaving this doesn't seem to be enough. when I signed up I specifically asked if this would be a problem. I mentioned I was leaving the city but wouldn't have these typical documents that they request from you in order to cancel. The sales guys told me it wouldn't be a problem. People move out of the country all the time and they can take care of it. It was a total bait and switch. I don't understand how a company can do well with so many people having the same problem. Check out the reviews on other sites. I'm not the only one. more

Unique but with small faults 10/27/2006

Rain claims to be a unique atmosphere, and in some ways it really is. I like that there are truely all kinds of people here, and it's nice to have go to an independent gym. The classes are great, but many cost extra. The staff is wonderful, and I never have to wait for equipment. The only strange thing is that there are no scales in the gym and they play this techno music that is sometimes annoying (but I can never hear it over my ipod). The veiw from the machines is beautiful, but the TVs are next to the windows and are impossible to see when it's even a little sunny (I don't watch the TVs so it's not a big deal to me, but might be to someone else). Overall, a good value for your money, but nowhere is perfect (although if you had more money, and could afford the add on classes, personal trainers, and pilates, this would be the place for you!). more

Clean gym and just a different atmosphere than others 7/5/2006

Membership fees for me was $29 + tax a month. I had to sign a 1 year contract and no enrollment fee. They did a promotion for my company so it might be a little more expensive if you join on your own. The average age is probably lower 30s. The equipment is fairly new. Spending an hour or more on the treadmill or the elliptical machine is very boring but having a view of Elliott Bay sure helps! The classes are usually not over-crowded and the gym is fairly empty in the morning before work. Another good thing is that they never hassled me to join or gave me a hard time when I quit (I switched jobs and Rain wasn't that convenient for me anymore.) more

shhh...Rain Fitness is great 3/3/2006

I am a member at Rain Fitness, a small gym down where Denny hits Western. I think it's everything you could want in a gym: clean, airy, very few meatheads, friendly staff, and a broad range of equipment and classes. I don't do much cardio there, but they have plenty of machines, all of which face out to the Sound. On a sunny day, it's just a really refreshing environment in which to work out. But don't tell too many people, because otherwise that will ruin the best part: it's currently never too crowded. more

The Best! 9/6/2005

I signed on with Rain before they opened. That day I got my membership, Glen and Chris made me feel important as a new member. Almost two years later they continue to do so. This gym does everything right. There is someone to greet you with a warm smile at the front desk. The equipment is top quality! Unlike some gyms, there are 3 different lines of weight equipment to choose from. The cardio pieces are also top notch and face the large bank of windows looking out over Elliott Bay. I've been to more expensive gyms in the city but I have to say the exceptional staff, equipment, and views make Rain Fitness the best gym around. more

Hip, urban style setting for your fitness needs.... 8/17/2005

Rain offers state of the art equipment including weight machines, cardio equipment and a full line of pilates pieces. The machines are made in Italy and are so simple to operate- it is almost a pleasure to get through your workout. The club offers limited classes and a somewhat awkward schedule- but many classes are under attended allowing for more personalized attention. The gym is rarely crowded and offers a beautiful view of the waterfront while working out on the cardio equipment. The trainers are friendly and almost always available to answer questions or correct movements. I would caution potential members about the management and front desk staff, they tend to be rude at times. I was charged fees after canceling my membership and after three phone calls the owner refused to refund my money. Eventually I had to submit a dispute with VISA and received an immediate refund. more

Best gym ever 8/17/2005

Okay, this place rocks. The views are amazing while you are working out and the staff is friendly. When you go to inquire about packages, the do not try to hard sell you. You make the decision on your own. The prices are so good! There are many different classes and there is space for people to get in. They have tons of equipment so you can get what you want, when you want - no waiting. Plus they have something for every fitness level and every need. I referred to friends there already! more
