I am not one to write a review but Skin the Day Spa deserves one. I been to many brand name spa in San Antonio and this place is #1. I stop there because I wanted to try the new shellac manicure....I a glad I did. The staff is exceptional, knowledgeable, welcoming, caring and thought full. I notice the owners are there so I felt if I had a complaint I would not get the run around. Now, that I have tryed the others and I have chosen the best Day Spa in San Antonio. I had brought a Groupon and thought I would give this place a chance. They have a small staff but their very good at what they do. I got a facial, massage, shellac manicure. It was great. I don't understand how some people can leave such ugly comments. The staff is friendly, very educated, and the place is clean and pleasant. I admit I was kinda of scare because of the last review. But, the owners are there and asked me if my services were good. I told them it was fantastic!!!! I believe in supporting small business like this one... and will be going back very soon. As an owner, we are always concered with customer satisfaction. We wish that this customer had brought her dissatisfaction to our attention on the day of her services. We are on sight while serving our clients. We will contact her directly to work out a solution. We also recognize that we will never be able to meet the expectations of every client. We spoke to the facialist who gave these services. The client requested an Express Facial which takes 25-30 min & is intended for people who only want the necessities. This client received a full express facial, including steam and extractions. As to the waxing service requested, our facialist made a call not to perform face waxing as this client shaves, and felt the hair was too short for safe waxing techniques. Our job as professionals, is to satisfactorly service the client, while not performing services that are could cause harm to the clients skin. There are many occasions when waxing services are not safe to perform. The esthetician did a lip and chin wax because that is what was indicated. We are not interested in perfoming services for extra money while putting the client at rish. If you are looking for someone who is just interested in the additional $, we recommend you continue to go to "the Vietnamese lady down the street." more

This is just in regards to the appointment I had today at the Skin the Day Spa. I paid $25.00 for a $50.00 Groupon and the service was so terribly below average. I've gotten facials before, and face waxings and this one was so lame. The facial consisted of scrubbing my face and then taking it off and putting lotion on it, all in less than 15 minutes. She said my face was already soft so she didn't really want to bother with it. I had scheduled a full face waxing, as well. The facialist decided she did not want to wax my face, but just my upperlip and chin. I just spent the last 30 minutes waxing my face at home. It's so preposterous. I don't know why I even bothered to go through with this appointment. Next time I'll just go down the street to the Vietnamese lady and have her wax my face. It will be cheaper and better! more

I recently had a surprise 70th Birthday Spa day for my Mom at Skin - the day spa. The Owners were fantastic, bending over backwards to accomodate us (8 women) on such short notice. We loved all the treatments and had a fantastic time. We were allowed to bring snacks and wine and decorations no problem! What a great place to throw a spa party. We will be going back for more parties and treatments! more

Since as an owner I have no other way to respond, or even know who is writing a review, I am using this as a means to respond. There are two owners at Skin. I asked the other owner, and the employees of our spa if they have any recall on this scenario. None of us do. Perhaps you were at another spa with a similar name. We have been in business for over 9 years and base our success on happy customer and employees. more

Went there because I was looking for a good nail tech--well, she was very good, very accomodating. And I had one great massage. But the owner's rudeness to her employee, in front of me was disgusting. Because the nail tech had done a little extra for me (with my materials), she chewed her out and made me so uncomfortable, I never went back. Nor will I!! My daughter also stopped going because of her own experience of the same type of behavior. more

Every year my husband and I make a point of going to Skin The Day Spa for Valentines Day. They always have roses, chocolates and wine for us, and the ambiance is great. We enjoy the massage for two and the chocolate raspberry pedicures. We have always been pleased with the service and hospitality. We look forward to our day together. Great place. Great people. I just came back from an overseas military job. Once I got back I called the people at Skin. Believe it or not those people remembered me. It's great to be remembered...they treated me as if they just saw me yesterday. I requested the whole works and again they out did themselves. The people at Skin and my future husband out did themselves. My future husband had made the appointment for a day of pampering. To make a long story short, I had just finished with the most amazing facial I had ever had. Then the girls moved me to the massage room with a therapist by the name of Irma. I was so comfortable that I think I was falling a sleep. ( I think I did) Anyway, when I woke up... the hands that were on me....were of my future husband....Irma had switch with him..... then he popped me the question. Yes, Yes, I said. The girls had champagne and beautiful flowers for me. It was fantastic. I will always remember "Skin the Day Spa". Those girls know their jobs. They are truly the best! more

I thought I would try this little place. Needless to say....they are amazing. When people say Texas has the friendliness people in the world...They weren't kidding. I just had a facial and massage both were the best I ever had. I spent over $100.00 and got $25.00 gift card to use the next time. I promise you it didn't last that long...I set up my next appointment already. Sometimes it's the small places that give the best service and customer appreciation then the large spa companies. There alots of day spa in San Antonio, but this little place is a real treat. The staff is very friendly...what I mean is they treated me as if they really knew me ( by my name). My experience was fantastic. First, I just wanted a massage...and it was the best I ever had so I decided let's try a facial...I was just in heaven. I just could not get enough of their services so believe it or not there was room for a pedicure and manicure. I spent almost all day there..it was Great! They may be a small cozy place but compared to the larger spas I have been to.... They have the best treatments, services, and the staff is the friendly group I have met in a long time. The staff, particularly the receptionist, was very friendly and accomodating, able to get me in quickly for a last-minute pedicure. However, I was a bit disappointed in the setting, which was shabbier than I expected. There was some sort of massage pad in the chair that no one turned on or showed me how to work. I prefer the newer modern big "roller" massage chairs. The selection of polish colors was good. Overall, I felt my 39.99 "pedi of the month" was overpriced for what I got. more

I have been to this spa now on three seperate occasions. I live in Chicago, but travel extensively and always try to get an appointment at Skin The Day Spa for their great facials. I have had pedicures and massages too. Love them all. Great envirnoment. Relaxing. Great staff. Just love it and will keep coming back. I like the signature facial... lasts a little longer, seems even more relaxing while still getting the job done. You know, I come to this spa as often as my budget and time permit. The prices are reasonable, and the service is always great. I have never had a spa service that wasn't top notch. One thing that really impresses me is how the staff can know so many people by name. I'll keep coming back. more

I recieved a gift card from my husband. I thought he went a little overboard but I am so glad he did. I had a mani, pedi, massage and facial. The mani and pedi were very nice. The massage was WONDERFUL and the facial invigorating. I would recommend this spa to anyone. The spa itself is cozy and homey. The staff are wonderful. The ladies of Skin know how to take care of their customers. I have had several facials and get my brows done there somewhat frequently and I am always pleased. I would agree that the space is like a cozy cottage and the services are excellent. If you are looking for professionals who are responsive to your needs... this is the place for you!! They are kind, courteous, flexible, detail oriented, and well trained professionals. I happened upon their business by chance a couple of years ago and continue to return intentionally because they are the best! more

Vera has been doing my nails for three years now and she's great, incredibly meticulous. Recently Denise has started doing my eyebrows, Im very particular about who does my eyebrows but she's great, always leaves the perfect arch!
