Wow, I was amazed by how many different things Seattle has to offer their customers! Thank you for the great customer service.

Worst

I've been to many Sewing Expos in the Seattle area and have always visited the Seattle Fabrics booth. They do have great outdoor fabrics and accessories, and it is nice to know t...

It's a great place. The fabrics are of topmost quality more

Charged more & RUDE customer service 11/19/2010

I would give them negative 5 if I could! They charged me more than their site said the fabric was with the excuse that their site isn't up to date! Give me a break. They charged my card $316.84 when my order was only $16.83. They also charge a $4 handling fee that isn't mentioned at checkout. When I called to ask questions they were rude an obviously not concerned about customer satisfaction. Save yourself the trouble and order from someone else! more

If you order online, be prepared to wait! 3/2/2010

I have ordered online twice from this company. The first time, my order took over one month to even ship out! When I called to inquire, I was told that their computers were down, and that there were only a few people working there - well boo-hoo! I run a small company as well and would never offer a service if I can't deliver on it. There was absolutely no apology or remedy for this. I got the distinct impression that they didn't care. Hoping this was a fluke I recently ordered again from them. I am about to cancel my order. It still has not shipped after 8 days, (their website states 3-5 days to ship) and despite two phone calls to them. I again got the excuse that they are a small company. Well then hire more people, or tell the truth. Orders will take up to one month or more to ship!! Too bad, they do have a good selection. But I need my supplies on time, so I can deliver to my customers on time, without excuses. more

Seattle Fabrics 4/27/2009

It's true this place has everything you need and hard to find gromet sizes, and utility materials. If this place were ranked on what they have, they can't be beat. Their staff is knowledgeable but very unfriendly and help, grudgingly. I have been in there multiple times to buy material for backpacks, and waterproof jackets. Everytime I have asked them to show me a specific fabric they have in back; they have done it without giving me proper eye contact, acknowledgment, or even in a timely manner. Most all their staff look like they do not enjoy being helpful. Thank you seattle fabrics for having the good and hard to find fabrics and piss poor salesmen/women. more

Best source for outdoor / heavy-duty fabric needs 10/10/2005

If you need a solution to an industrial-grade fabric need -- like rebuilding a backpack or hanging a heavy rug from the wall -- Seattle Fabrics is the place to shop. In addition to stocking all kinds of heavy-duty fabrics - Gore-Tex, coated nylon, etc. - they also have a wide range of nylon webbing, buckles, grommets and fasteners. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, and can help you select the materials appropriate to your project. If you're interested in sewing your own outdoor clothing and gear, they also stock some sewing patterns to choose among. Let's say you wanted to hang a heavy rug from your wall. Just head to Seattle Fabrics and pick up a length of 2" velcro tape. Hand-sew one side to the top edge of the rug and tack the other to a 1 x 2 strip of wood (both the wood and the short upholstery tacks used to attach the velcro are stocked at any hardware store). You can then nail the wood strip to the wall wherever you want it, and attach the rug using the velcro. This will hang even a heavy rug securely, without damaging it, and allowing you to easily remive it for cleaning, etc. more

outdoor fabrics and inspiration 6/18/2005

This store has a huge variety of outdoor and sporting fabrics like fleece, gore-tex, nylon, canvas, mesh and cordura plus all the accouterments you might need to make your own recreational equipment. I have gone here to find replacement buckles, nylon fabric to make a new ground cloth for my tent, canvas for some beach bags and fleece for kiddie hats. The staff is knowledgable and generally friendly and they have all the materials you might need for your project including the patterns. Who knows, you just might walk out with everything you need to make your own three season tent! more
