I go to Salon Fx for one reason: Kevin Benson. I followed him there from another salon. He is that good. He is a perfectionist, he does a fabulous cut and amazing color. He really listens and gives you the style YOU ask for, not what he thinks you should have. He is easy going and fun to talk to. If you are looking for a great stylist, go to Kevin. The people at Salon Fx are very nice as well. Kevin just has a natural talent for creating a great hair style! more

Nan rocks! She always does a wonderful job with my hair, and makes sure that it is cut correctly every time. Because of my work schedule, I usually can't make an appointment until the day prior to going there, and they almost always can get me at a time that works for me. Nan doesn't ever make me wait when I arrive for my appointment, and she always asks about my family. She has a great memory, as she often will bring up something that I mentioned, such as vacation plans, at a previous appointment. It is a bit expensive, but someone told me that when you buy quality, you only cry once. I definitely agree. more

Brandon does the best color work I have ever had. He is always trying to get me to try new things with my color. At first I was hesitant, which he respected, but then after that I decided to let him do what he thought would look best. The result was WONDERFUL!!! Brandon has a great eye for hair color potential, but he also does excellent cuts and styling. I have never had more compliments on my hair than since I started going to Brandon about a year ago. Also, students: make sure to ask for the 20% student discount! more

I just have to say I always get exactly what I want from stylist AJ Franking. I have baby fine hair and am very picky about who cuts it. She is only the third stylist I've ever had cut and color my hair since moving to Nashville over 25 years ago. No matter the new style or various colors I've wanted, this girl knows her stuff and has an amazing memory on what your hair can and cannot do!!! She definitely knows her business and goes way over 110 % to make sure you are happy with it as well. I also love that she really, really enjoys what she does, has great integrity with you as her client and always has a smile for me when I go there. more

I am 26 and have only trusted 1 person with my hair....she happened to be my best friend and it took me years to finally let her color it. She moved away from Nashville last year and left me freaking out cause I didn't know who I could trust. She recommended AJ Franking to me at Salon FX and I could not be happier. I'm not too hairy savvy and I never really know what I want, but AJ nails it every time. She works with what little I give her and always turns it into the perfect cut and color. I get compliments on my color all the time and always know I am in GREAT hands with AJ. I've always been the girl with the straightest of the straight fine blonde hair...never any real style and no body whatsoever. In 27 years I'd just accepted that my hair is what it is. That is, until I visited Alana at Salon FX. I went in with a vision as I always do, however, before Alana I never left a salon feeling as if I had gotten truly what I wanted, and even if I had it was never something I could recreate at home. She listened to all of my ideas and gave me recommendations based on my hair type. The end result was color that provides depth and dimension and the cut is simply the best I've ever had. She also took the time to show me step by step what she was doing so that I could do the same on my own. Michelle transformed my long layers into the cutest short, above the chin style. I love it & I love her!!! I was totally stressed about chopping the appx 8 inches off. She listened to all my ideas and concerns and made recommendations based on my face shape and hair texture. She gave me exactly what I wanted, as if she read my mind. I will definitely return. No pushy sales, she even told me I could go a little longer than I thought for my next cut. Oh, and they wrap your head and shoulders in yummy warm towels as they wash your hair. Great value for the money! Pros: Love my haircut!! Cons: More than I'd like to pay but worth every cent more

I had always wanted Japanese Thermal hair straightening but never thought i could afford it. Not only did Kini do an amazing job but it was far less expensive than any other salon i contacted. I have always spent hours straightening my hair every morning. Now it looks like i did after a quick blowdry. I really do thank kini every morning for the time she has saved me and my new shinny straight hair! Pros: Amazing stylist! Cons: none she was awsome! more

OMG! My hair is wonderfrul. The color is to die for as well as the cut. Miciah is the only hairstylist who has ever got ""me"" and what I wanted with my hair. He listened to me and followed through. I am in my final year in Dental School and I am moving to Nashville. I can't wait to be near ""my"" stylist . \r Miciah is such a pleasure to be around and I have had so many compliments and I have strongly recomended my friends to make the drive to see Miciah. \r The Salon itself is totally great with the exception of maybe the music, I suggest to turn the volume down a litle because I got the best treament ever but a bit of a headache from the music. \r LOVE YOU MICIAH and see you soon. I have had the hardest time finding a salon since moving to Nashville...almost 3 years ago!!! And the funny thing is, I am really not that picky about my hair. It seemed like everywhere I went either the haircut was terrible or it was just average but the price was outrageous. Then, by chance I got paired up with Miciah at Salon FX. I cannot tell you how many compliments I have received on this haircut and color. I felt like I was totally transformed. The people at the salon were friendly and the price is appropriate for the type of service you receive. But, like I said, what sold me was the fantastic new 'do I received. He took my ideas and then turned them into something better. Pros: The fantastic haircut! Cons: None! more

I have been a loyal customer for 3 years to the same stylist. In just the past few months they have changed everything about the salon. All the stylist had their own stations, so when you came in for your appointment you felt like the only client they had. Now there are no stations, they have a color bar where you sit and have your color placed. Then you wait while they attend to another client. Each client is only allowed 30 minutes at the color bar, so if your stylist is in the middle of your color, more than likely his/her next client is arriving. Now you see where the long wait comes in. I love my stylist, and honestly it's not his fault that upper management changed the way the buisness is run. It feels like an assembly line, with a really long wait. The only reason I keep going here is because I love my stylist, but I'm not sure how much longert I can last with all the changes. I would not recommend this salon. more

My hair was very fragile; and I am incredibly particular about it because it is damaged and breaks easily. I was nervous about seeing a new stylist. Nan was recommended - so I saw her. SHE IS AWESOME!!! Very talented. I have had my hair done in LA by great hairdressers; and I can't recommend her highly enough. She gave me color with dimension and a great style. :) more

I made an appointment and was excited to try this salon as I have read many good reviews. Boy was I wrong to have ever called them. I asked for a bob and received a misshapen shag. They offered to fix it but I had to refuse in fear of my hair looking even worse! How can you screw up a bob?? I am willing to pay any price for great results but I have to say that the beauty colleges are more professional than this place. This was the worst "" color experience"" I've ever had at a salon. Trena doesn't seem to know or care what she's doing, although she assumed she could read my mind and that what I was telling her I wanted, wasn't what I wanted. My appointment was for an all over foil over short virgin hair. She refused to foil my hair, period. I went in for a color to cover a small amount of frontal gray and highlights. After 3 hours and 2 dye jobs (the first didn't cover up one strand of the few grays I have) that burnt my scalp, I left with one color and no highlights because I refused to let her pull me bald after two painful pulls through a cap. I also left with dye on my face that she never bothered to clean off. \r Shampoo...she more than once stuck the shower head thingy right in my ear.\r Brushing...she more than once scratched the side of my face by my eye and scratched my ears.\r Blowdrying...she left the blowdryer sitting on the back of my head, except to stick it directly in my ear.\r Styling...my hair looks better when I roll out of bed in the morning, as well as every waking second of the rest of the day.\r As for the rest of the salon, I came in from the Broadway entrance and was never greeted. Otherwise, parking is bad, and prices are high. At any rate, I wouldn't let Trena comb my cat's tail, even if SHE paid ME! On a scale from 1-10, I'd rate her off the scale, way off, to the left, in the negative, several degrees. Pros: I was offered a cup of coffee, after an hour and a half. I just made my first visit to Salon FX, and it was everything I'd hope for in a salon and so much more. Cheri gave me the best cut and color and really knew how to work with my baby fine and over-processed hair. Not only is she a talented stylist, but also the warmest and friendliest!! I would highly recommend her to anyone. I'll definitely be going back!\r \r I also had a great experience with Majide who tamed my wild brows. She's very thorough and has a keen eye for detail.\r \r Overall, this was an extremely positive experience. If anyone out there is hesitant about going to Salon FX, don't be. If Cheri can work wonders with my hair, she can do anything. I absolutely love this salon. The staff is always smiling and very friendly. Britni Hall was my stylist upon my last visit. She was very courteous and knew exactly what i wanted/needed. Not to mention she gave the best shampoo I've EVER had! I was very pleased with my cut and color. I will be returning to see her soon! I've been going to Salon FX for two years, to the same stylist, and am a BIG TIPPER. Last week I was kept waiting for over 45 minutes, with repeated promises that it would be ""just 5 more minutes!"" It was like noon on a weekday and no one was even there! I ended up leaving, and never got a call apologizing or anything. From now on, I'm going to TRIM! more

I travel for work and go to a new salon every few weeks. I was so happy to find Madelene at Salon FX, she was wonderful. She was very professional, got every last hair on my upper lip, and the price was reasonable...not the cheapest, but well worth it! My boyfriend had his hair cut by Tela and it was not a great cut, so I cannot recommend the hair services. more
