Salon Fx

I am getting married in March and needed a salon to do my hair the day of the wedding. The lady that started working on my hair was very nice and friendly, she was having trouble getting it pulled back in a way that i liked, she tried a few times, but when saw her next appointment had arrived she gave me over to someone else. By this time I am frustrated... I had scheduled to get my make up done also, well the make up lady came over and was like 'is she ready yet?' so now this lady is in a hurry.... I ended up not liking the hair of the make-up. The make up was pretty for every day wear, but not a special event. The lady then wrote down my colors in case she didnt do my make up that day... why would i be doing a trial run if i wasnt going to schedule for you to do my make-up? Over-all not happy at all.... i went to another salon, where they know how to treat a bride... they made me feel special, and they were not in a rush at all.... For bridal hair I do not recommend this salon at all!!!!11 more

I have been pleased with Salon FX since I first went there in May 2006 due to reviews on CitySearch. I have not utilized the full line of services at Salon FX, but have had great success with Master Designer Angel Brewer. For my first visit, Angel spent a lot of time discussing my lifestyle, my hair and my likes/dislikes in order to create the perfect style for me. He listens well and asks great questions. His patience pays off when he shows you how to maintain the style or to experiment with variations. I had never had a stylist pay so much attention to me... and my consultation was complimentary. I liked Angel immediately and have since seen him for styles as well as partial foil color. Angel also cuts my husband's hair and I have referred friends and family to him. Some have come in from out-of-state to seen Angel since they liked with he did with my husband's and my hair. Angel doesn't pressure you to buy hair products or to do processes/techniques you don't want. He knew I couldn't get into the salon frequently, so all the processes & cuts he has done for me take that into consideration. Although I don't know his education details exactly, I know that he has recently gone to cutting school in NYC, has had advanced color training and is the education coordinator at the salon. All of that translates into a very talented stylish who has kept up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques. I've heard great things about the other stylists and services at Salon FX, but feel only qualified to review Angel. He gets a perfect 10! I've never had my hair done at Salon FX, but I do go to Madeline to get my brows and other things waxed. She is the best! She doesn't seem as pretentious as some of the rest of the staff...sometimes they try to be SO European, that it comes across as a snotty attitude and to be honest, I've not seen any spectacular hairstyles coming out of there. But if you are looking to get waxed, Madeline is friendly, efficient, and NOT afraid to go there without shame and wax it all! She is affordable as well. Pros: Great Waxer Cons: Too Stuffy more

Ok, I am a liquor drinking, roll your own cigarettes smoking, motorcycle riding, go to the barber kind man. However, I just started working in West End and I needed to find a place to get my hair cut on my lunch hour. My boss suggested SalonFX and I though what the hell I need to get a decent hair cut and I don't know any barbers out here so I'll try it. The cost was $35 which is more than I have ever paid for a hair cut but damn it was worth it. I understand why my girl is always excited about getting her hair cut now. I recently moved to Nashville and needed a new hair stylist. Through Citysearch I found Salon FX and was assigned to Shannon as a new client. Much to my delight - I found a fantastic new hair stylist in Nashville. Shannon is wonderful wonderful. She is so meticulous in her work and takes her time with every client to make sure it is to perfection. Tela does an awesome job like always. She is the very best stylist I've ever been to. She gets the hilights and color right every time, not to mention the cut is perfect too. She gets the hilights and color right down to the scalp. No other stylist Ive ever been to has been able to do that and believe me I've searched and searched. Her personality is great and she is always helpful and full of advice and suggestions. She definately caters to her clients, she brings you drinks and magazines. Recentlly moved from LA and walked into Salon FX to find Julie who just moved from LA Absolutely the greatest cut and color I have ever received. She asks you what you're thinking of having done and if you ask her, she'll tell you the best style for your face shape and hair color for your skin type. She is fast and does an amazing job. I recently moved to Nashville. I have had so many other stylists that I have lost count. I went to Salon FX a few months ago and was absolutely amazed. Angel is the best stylist and colorist I have ever had. He is a perfectionist at cut and color. I highly recommend this salon! I recently went back to Tela for a hilight, color and cut, she gets it right every time. I missed her so much while she was gone, I had went to other people while she was gone to get my hair done and no one even compares to Tela. I will never go to anyone else now that Tela is back. After reading some reviews here, I decided to take the plunge and try Salon FX. I was a little nervous because I knew it was an upscale salon, but, I shouldn't have been. Not only did Samanta greet me warmly and instantly put me at ease, everyone I came in contact with was very nice. Samantha did a great job on my hair. After many attempts to find the perfect stylist in Nashville,I was about to give up. Then I thought I would give Salon FX a try. I have never been so happy with my hair in my life. A native Huntsvillian, I decided to try Salon FX in Nashville after perusing the reviews on Citysearch.com. I asked for an appointment with a master stylist, and they scheduled my haircut with Cheri (with an accent on the 2nd syllable). The staff was very attentive. They showed me where to go and made me feel at ease. The facility is upscale but not snobbish. Cheri met with me before my shampoo. She asked questions to determine the challenges that I have with my hair and the look that I hope to achieve. I am extremely pleased with my haircut. Cheri blended my layers expertly and took time to show me how to style my hair. I have finally found an outstanding stylist--no small feat for this picky, vain female. On a side note, Cheri transformed the girl before me from a blond to a brunette with striking highlights. more

Madlen is great for brazilian waxing! I moved up from South Florida, where they've been providing this service for a long time, but when I got to Nashville, it was tough to find someone who was good. Madlen is a seasoned pro who doesn't hesitate or make you feel uncomfortable. more

I went to see Kevin in an attempt to fix a horrible highlighting job done elsewhere and he did an amazing job!! Instead of ugly blond strips, I now have wonderful highlights and lowlights. In addition, he took the time to explain the best ways to keep my hair healthy, showed me new ways to straighten my hair, and helped me find products to enhance my style. He was a great hairstylist and I definately encourage people to go and see him!! I know that Salon FX is more expensive than some places, but the quality is more than worth the cost. I don't know what to say other than if you need someone to do your hair that knows what they are doing and will not screw you up, go to Laura! I have been going to her for sometime now and she has never done me wrong. I went in the last time wanting a change and you know how a lot of times if you stay with the same stylist for to long you usually stay with the same look. Laura is amazing because she really understands hair and how you can wear it with your face shape and colors you can do that won't wash you out. I wanted a change, so Laura gave me options and crafted a new look for me. I have never been more happy! I love it!! PJK more

I have been going to Salon FX for over 2 years. I usually go to another girl, but I had the pleaure of meeting Jason. I have always liked my color, but for the first time ever, I loved my color.I have never got so many compliments before. Jason is so amazing. I almost don't want to tell anyone about him, because I want to keep him all to myself. I doesn't hurt that he is super hott either!! I really do recomend him to everyone.
