Riverwalk Plaza Hotel & Suites

We stayed at the hotel on New Years Weekend and the Fiest Bowl Game was going on as well, so downtown San Antonio was crowded. When I checked in to the hotel, I could not get the rooms that I requested so i had to get an additional room to accomodate all of our guests. However, the front desk manager Joann Sanchez gave me a reduced rate for all four rooms. It was very much appreciated. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. The staff at the front desk Anna, Yuly, and Jeanett were all very friendly and very helpful. The hotel is in an older building so the hallways feel small and the ceilings are low but the rooms are newly remodeled, clean and very comfortable. The hotel is not as pricey as some of the other Hotels in the area so that was a plus. I would stay at this hotel again. more

For my husband and I this hotel scored excellent on all counts - the lobby area, the breakfast area and the bedroom/bathroom were spotless. The room we had (king with sofabed and balcony) was a very good size, had a comfortable bed, was well furnished and everything was in working order. All the staff that we had dealings with were both friendly and helpful. We found the location to be just what we wanted - convenient to most places but without all the noise and bustle of the main drag of the Riverwalk. It is a very short walk to the Riverwalk (out of the doors by the coffee shop, cross the road and down the steps and you are there!!). This is the more peaceful stretch of the Riverwalk but it is very pretty and well worth the walk. We used the path by the river to get to the Alamo and surrounding area with ease. I am so pleased to note that many other people are finding really positive things to say about this hotel. It is very good value for money. (I have recently received an email from the hotel to say that the coffee shop and restaurant are now open). more

It is a real nice hotel conevientely located.. We did not have to use our car because every thing is at walking distance. Bedrooms were recently remodeled with a very nice appealing. We spent a romantic staying at very reasonable price. Defenitely will be our first choice when we go back with the family. People at front desk were very helpfull more

I wanted to see San Antonio and be near to the Riverwalk. The hotel was chosen at random from the u/k. It was an excellent choice and I stayed for 6 nights. The reception staff were extremely helpful, the room was more than adequate,clean with very good maid service. The bathroom facilties were also of a good standard with clean towels every day along with clean bedlinen.The continenal breakfast offered a satisfactory choice including fresh fruit daily. Access to the River walk was just around the corner which took you to all parts of the city including Brackenbridge park. If you enjoy a walking city this is the hotel to stay for value for money. I strongly recommend it! more

Having made our arrangements on the internet, one is never quite sure how the facility will live up to it's online persona. I am happy to say it was everything it claimed to be and better than I expected. The staff was lovely and friendly, everyone from the front desk to the maintenance crew greeted me each time we saw each other. I got the room I requested (poolside) which included a small fridge complementary bottled water everyday, as well as an room safe. Rooms are updated and contemporary, great bedding and the A/C works! Better than being right on the Riverwalk at one of the many more expensive hotels. The 4th floor terrace swimming pool is a private and tropical retreat away from the bustle of the street and main floor of the hotel. more

I travel a lot with my job and also for vacation travel. This boutique hotel is the best I have stayed at in Texas. Pulling into the covered driveway, there's a beautiful mural. The staff told me it's the largest mural in San Antonio. The hotel lobby was pretty, beautiful tiles and more murals. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I was concerned by the reviews I had read from a couple years ago, but my son lives in San Antonio and said I would love this hotel. He was so right! They had a change in management about year ago, and have made so many upgrades. It was elegant, but very comfortable. Wonderful amenities in the rooms, clean, clean, clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was to die for!! Big whirlpool tub and stand up shower. Bathroom was not small, plenty of room to move around!!! King size bed and plasma TV in the hotel room. I had a great night's rest!! more

My husband and I stayed three nights at this hotel and could not have been more pleased. The room was comfortable and spotless. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My husband forgot his razor and they sent one up within five minutes of his requesting one. The complimentary breakfast was fine, pastries, cereal, bagels, yogurt, apples, juice and coffee. The parking garage is under the hotel and at $12 was a bargain. We parked there with no problem whatsoever. more

Your wonderful staff; Yuli, Ricardo, and the other staff at the front desk as well as your painters and maid service were extremely helpful. The second we got in the door, Yuli greeted us with a friendly smile, cookies and water; which we could not believe, because no one at the first class hotels did any of that for us (cookies!). more

My fiancée and I recently stayed at your hotel on November 18 - 22. I wanted to let you know what a great time we had. I have stayed at many hotels, and have taken many cruises around the world, and not even on our first class cruises, paying thousands of dollars, did we ever get the courtesy, service, promptness and helpfulness we got during our stay at your hotel. more

Since I travel and stay in nice hotels approximately 45 weeks each year, I don't get overly excited when staying in hotels while on vacation. However, the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel & Suites was the exception! My husband and I were only going to be in San Antonio for one evening, so we didn't want to spend a lot of money for a hotel since we would be arriving late. To be honest, I was not expecting much for the price we paid, but I was SO pleasantly surprised! The pictures on the website truly depict this hotel - the room was spacious, well-appointed, and clean. The pool area was absolutely beautiful. This hotel is a tremendous value for the money -- especially considering its location. We will definitely stay here again! ~Debbie. more
