A fun shop of great gifts 8/21/2005

For the longest time I lived in Washington DC and never thought of stopping into a "hat" shop since I don't like wearing hats. A friend convinced me there was more to it when she bought me a beautiful, fun, brightly colored leather wallet here and it was from this that my love affair with the store began. This is the perfect shop to browse. They have a lot of fun items for all sorts of people, from babies to adults. The store is never cluttered and the stock is always fresh and unusual. A pleasure to have this store in the community. It's what DC needs more of! more

Good Spot for that Random Gift 8/15/2005

If you're looking for a random but quality housewarming, birthday, shower type gift, Propper Topper has some great stuff. There's a location in upper Georgetown and one in Dupont Circle. Anything from jewelry to cookbooks to clothing, to bareware...and yes, hats. The owner does a nice job of keeping merchandise new so every time you go in there will likely be new things to look at. more

Hats and more 8/15/2005

As you might guess from the clever and alliterative name of this store, the emphasis is on hats and bonnets. All sorts of hats, for both men and women. The style and selection are good, though the prices trend toward the upper end of my price range and may exceed it for many young professionals. If you really want a nice, well-constructed hat, this is a good place to go. more
