Just off of Wisconsin Ave in Bethesda is Salon Prive. It is just a few miles from the DC border but the prices drop by $20 for a haircut and the quality is just as good. Some of the stylists come from DC salons and give haircuts and highlights just as fabulous as the downtown shops. You have to choose your stylists carefully, as I've observed some of them look like they may be new to haircutting.
The parking can be a little tricky with all of the different meters and garages around. When you go in the first time they give you a little map to figure it out.

Our friends have been meeting at Biddy Mulligans after work for years. It is a very centrally located bar and easy to get to from many places around the city. It is located in the Jury's Hotel on Dupont Circle. There is a lot of space and still the tables can get filled up after work. It can get a little smoky. The used to have an outdoor patio which they converted to a more formal dining area, losing some of the best space. The beer is great and the pub food is decent. The best part is the panoramic view you have onto Dupont Circle, so you can watch people walking by and maybe spot friends to come in for a pint.

If you've never been to Rodmans you're in for a nice surprise. If you never thought you would find a nice local supermarket that isn't Whole Foods or Safeway, this is your lucky day. Rodmans is a hidden wonder. It carries a wide selection of international and organic foods. It has a huge and very low priced wine department and the downstairs is like a whole "Woolworths". There is plenty of validated parking in the rear.

I have had the pleasure to visiti Dr. Brown while I was taking a break from my regular chiropractor who was on vacation. He was highly recommended by a friend and he live up to my expectations. The practice is small and within an apartment building. The receptionist is very friendly and appointments are made easily. There is usually never a wait. Dr. Brown will patiently answer any of your questions and your adjustment will be very quick and gentle.

Andre Chreky is often called the best day spa in Washington DC. I'm really not sure why. Each time I was there, I was made to feel like I definitely wasn't a frequent client. I was lead to my room in the service elevator one one occasion and the room I had was on K street and no matter how skilled my masseuse was, the noise from the street definitely killed any relaxation I had. I felt really rushed and my pedicure room was not relaxing either. There was another client in the room who was on her cell phone loudly and nobody said anything!!

Splash Spa is located within the gym Sports Club LA in the Ritz Carlton. The whole venue screams posh from the moment you step in the door and see the celeb sneakers. You may actually see a celeb in their sneakers (such as the famous George Clooney). The spa is well located right next to the locker room to sweep into after a refreshing workout. The waiting room is small, but does have nice cucumber water and a selection of magazines.
But you come here for some of the best massages in town, there are many practitioners to choose from. They offer many seasonal specialties such as pumpkin scrub but the plain massage or signature facials are also consistently good. Enjoy a eucalyptus steam before your session to really relax.

CD Warehouse has been serving the Georgetown area with some of the newest and best used music. The layout of the store isn't the easiest to understand and it's worth browsing through different categories since they're not always filed correctly. They have an excellent selection of imports which line their back wall. Here you can find the latest Buddha Bar cd or other top DJs. They are usually pretty good with their purchase of your used cds and offer you either cash or store credit. I have found many gems in my music collection here since there are many Georgetown student who use this store and sell their old music.

Fleet Feet is the best athletic shoe store in the world. It was opened over 20 years ago by Phil and Jan Fenty who are both serious athlete in their own right. If you're bought your sneakers from the Foot Locker in the past and the fit wasn't quite right, come to Fleet Feet and they will put you into the shoe you need. They know feet and they know sports. They will look at your walk and ask you questions about the activities you do to find exactly the right shoe for you. And they are never wrong in my case and many of my friends who have come here and nowhere else.

Kinkeads is probably the best restaurant to bring a client you want to impress. Nestled on the George Washington University campus in between the World Bank/IMF and the IFC this restaurant is consistently rated one of the best - if not the best - in Washington DC. It is expensive and many people are satisfied coming to Kinkeads for their happy hour where there martinis are large and mean and their seafood is fresh. If you have the pleasure to have dinner, you will not be disappointed. But better if it's not on your credit card.
