Whenever I am in need of the perfect gift, or a nice little treat for myself that no one else has, I always swing by Presents of Mind. They always seem to have the perfect thing. I love that they carry so many local artists too. I have moved on from Portland, but always stop by when I'm in town. Their friendly helpful staff are always great when you need a second opinion too. Definitely worth a stop by if your in the area more

I'm in Lust with this store! 3/18/2011

I could literally spend hours in this store! Whenever I'm in Portland it's one of my first stops. You could find a gift for anyone on your list including the very hard to shop for because the selection is so amazing. Oh & you'd be hardpressed to find a more helpful staff! I also love how they support local vendors. more

Sinnyv - welcome to the modern computer age! yes, many goods and services are available on the internet at cheaper cost than at the stores....Perhaps your shopping preferences are more in line with Walmart? Private internet business does not have to pay as much for electricity, for health insurance, decent wages, sick leave, employee Christmas parties or anything else...I mean, are you not a price whore? Presents of Mind is an awesome place to shop, with great people and great item selection. Their employees have always been more than courteous and helpful . You say they ""almost refused to take it back""....but, they did take it back even though it was missing a tag and not in the condition they sold it....so who's really at fault? If you have no appreciation for a local business that offers a nice community setting while trying to make fair and reasonable profit you don't deserve to walk through the door in the first place. Presents of Mind is a top notch local retailer. more

Awesome store. Awesome representation of all things Portland 3/18/2011

If you need a gift, a card, a doo-hicky, something cute to wear, and so much more, then get thee self into Presents of Mind!! The owner has amazing taste and has done a fabulous job of selecting products that are cute, stylish, useful, different, and fun. If you find yourself wandering Hawthorne it's worth a stop just to look around. But be careful, it's hard to leave without buying something...if you're anything like me it's hard to leave without buying too much! :) The staff have always been incredibly friendly, the owner is an absolute gem, and the store is a place I could get lost in for hours. If I had to point someone to one store that represented Portland the best, this would be it. Go. Go now. more

Presents of Mind is one of the most awesome stores in Portland! The managers are kind and wonderful people who care deeply about their customers and always work hard to provide great service and the most amazing, unique, top quality products. They also support lots of local artisans which is very important for Portland's economy. Love this store! more

Manager/Owner is a JERK!!!!!!!!!!! 11/30/2010

I used to love this store and spent hundreds of dollars there including buying a $250. petunia pickle bottom diaper bag. Recently I bought a dress for $90 and went to look up about the brand and discovered the same was available for $60 on the maker's website. I went to return the dress to the store the next day but couldn't find the hand-written store tag. They almost refused to take it back based on that and were all offended when I told them the reason for the return. I didn't appreciate being treated like dirt and will avoid ever spending money there again. If they have something you like look it up on the internet and get it for a better price!!!! more

Excellent Gift Store 11/11/2010

I love that Presents of Mind has so many locally and USA made gifts. When the holidays come around, I get excited about sharing my ""guilt-free"" stuff from here. The staff is friendly and helpful. Someone took the time to help me weed through all of the good stuff to find extra special gifts for my loved ones. more

By Far the BEST retail store in Portland! 10/19/2009

How I love thee! When I need a special card or a gift for baby or friend this is where I go. The store always provides great ideas and they constantly mix it up! Staff is helpful and cheerful despite being on Hawthorne(hipster attitudeville). I go back again and again and always make sure to tell my friends about it. If you haven't been there, check it out! The most helpful and friendly staff in Portland 3/11/2009

I have been a patron at Presents of Mind since the mid-90s. I have always been able to find just the right gift for whomever I was shopping. Their selection of fun, unique, and beautiful gifts is unparalleled. What I love most about Presents of Mind, however, is the staff. You will not find a collection of people anywhere more excited about the place they work. With extensive and helpful product knowledge and all around awesome attitudes, it is the employees at this one-of-a-kind store that keep me coming back for more. The best little shop on Hawthorne 3/8/2009

I have lived in the neighborhood for 17 years and this little shop keeps getting better and better. The cards, gifts, clothing and stationary are a staple for me. Where else can you find items that are not ""chain"" material and works so hard to have lot's of local art? Presents of Mind! Pros: local art Cons: none yet found more

I love this place! 3/8/2009

My mom told me about Presents of Mind, so i stopped in on Saturday to pick up a baby shower gift and found the most unique selection of baby clothing and accessories! I dont know much about babies, but the staff was very accommodating, and eager to help me choose the perfect gifts....i even found the cutest pair of locally made earrings for myself! I will deffinatly be back! Pros: Unique gift selection, great service. Cons: tons of people in the store. more

cool stuff - bad service 2/12/2009

So, I will admit this place has very cool stuff. But from now on I will find 'this stuff' elsewhere. Last week I had a particular gift in mind for a friends birthday, knew exactly where it was in the store, and drove in from Hillsboro just to get it. Due to unforseen traffic on hwy 26 I knew I'd be a couple minutes late so called in to let them know i was on my way. I wasn't given any promises, but arrived at 7:02 (2 minutes after closing) and was greeted by nothing more than a locked door and blank stares from the sales staff inside. I understand the desire to get home on a Saturday evening... but maybe we should re-evaluate customer service. I'm sorry you lost me as a customer cause up until last weekend I really felt like you had something good going. Luckily I found the product I was looking for on Etsy... my friend will just have to wait for a belated gift. more

With a super sweet staff and ecclectic selection of gifts, you'll easily find yourself spending a lot of your paycheck at this store as soon as it's deposited into your account. They evenhave stuff for expecting mothers. I'm always treated respectfully and graciously at this cuter than cute gift shop. more

Again and again I love this store! 11/9/2006

I love coming in at Christmas (then after spending all my Christmas money on myself) coming in again a week later with more money to finish my Christmas shopping. I find that I end up here at least once a month for every gift giving or gift to myself giving occasion. I am absurdly addicted to the Skeem candles (love the reusable glasses!). The beautiful, handmade princess skirts for girls. Best of all, the unique hoodies and P-town t shirts!!!!\r \r I was more than mildly perplexed by one review. The lady came after closing (after calling and admittedly receiving no promises?) and because the staff didn't immediately re-open for her, she gave them one star??? Hm....Sounds like a superiority complex. No matter, everyone I know LOVES this shop. She can stick to shopping in Hillsboro (good luck with that) or Etsy (and pay through the nose for shipping). I'll continue coming to POM (well before closing, thanks!) and support my neighborhood!\r \r Thanks Presents of Mind staff and buyers-you never disappoint! Pros: Service, gifts, ummm....everything! I've really only discovered Presents of Mind in the last year, and I'm glad. I love their jewelry and t-shirt selection, and they always seem to have fun new stuff. I love going to Presents of Mind. They have the best gifts, the friendliest and most helpful staff and the cutest baby stuff around. I love that I can take my kids in there and they enjoy it too because the staff is so great. I think their selection is wonderful from a wide range of local jewelry and gifts to the hottest in Paul Frank, Gama Go and Matt and Nat. I go every few weeks because there is always something new.
