The owner and staff at H.B. have been outstanding! My son has been pretty tall, but small feet in relation and he was falling a lot as a toddler. The folks at the store spent a lot of time on multiple occasions measuring him, letting him play to try out the shoes, and giving me feedback and guidance on how to buy, given how fast he grows! They offered to put weatherproofing stuff on anytime I came in (for his fall/winter shoes) and were unbelievably patient when my son wanted to pull each and every shoe off the display. The shoes are expensive, so I buy one pair per season and that's all I can do. I've bought several pair secondhand at other places and had some cute hand-me-downs, which are certainly more economical, but they have never fit as well.

This large space is crammed with great, inventive toys, and not the kind you'll find at Toys R Us. I don't remember places like this when I was a kid. Everything is very hands-on and you can play with your purchase before you buy it. This is a great place for the child in your life, or to pick up a fun gift for a friend. Prices are decent and the staff is great. If you're strolling down Hawthorne, Kids at Heart is a can't miss.

This small independent toy store is one that you should definitely visit if you long for the more quality, handcrafted, wooden toys rather than the plasticy offerings found at most large toy chains.
They have lots of great wooden toys for babies and young children, including wooden dollhouses, play kitchen stuff, and a variety of different educational supplies for building and creating. My daughter loves the toys here and I love that they challenge her to use her brain!
The store is located in quaint Multnomah Village, within easy walking distance of lunch, coffee (both local and Starbucks), and a wonderful bookstore (Annie Blooms).

If you love to go consignment shopping, here is a good one to check out. This located right on Pacific Highway 99W in Tigard, towards King City. I've always found a pretty decent selection and the store is laid out very nicely and is easy to navigate. They have the boys and girls separted as well as the major and popular brands such as Gymboree and Baby Gap. Kids go through clothing so quickly as they grow, consignment shopping make sense!

Small resale shop but has a great selection of stuff for kids. Resale toys, clothes and furniture, even some stuff for juniors and mothers. There are some designer things and some new items as well, but primarily its a used store. There are a few collectibles and antiques but this is relatively new.

Baby To Baby Children's Resale shop is located on the Portland / Beaverton border just across from Jesuit High School. I've shopped there for several years and they always have a great selection. It is nicely laid out and there is usually a great sale rack with 75% off, or even sometimes a $1 rack for off season items. Lots of great name brands like Baby Gap, Old Navy, The Children's place etc. There is always a great selection of larger items like ride-on toys, strollers etc. Definitely one to check out!

If you are looking for a last minute cards or flowers, or some sort of gift, this is the place, it's close by (if you are in Portland) and it's easy to get around in the store. They have helped me on several occasions to pick flowers for people in my family or my friends, they have great florists who arrange the flowers for you. I have been impressed by their work when I have used them in the past.

Sometimes the costs run high but when it's in the name of your son, everything goes. It’s a cute store with tons of stuff. It is also good place for getting the new styles for the kids. It’s very colorful and bright and very inviting. My wife and I visit it quite a bit.

I like this store because their prices are reasonable, the clothes are in nice shape and the staff is very friendly.
However, it is a very small space and so the selection is usually rather small, especially if you are only looking for one child in a specific size. I have been able to find some greate things at wonderful prices, but it is matter of luck and timing as to whether or not I am able to find something on any given visit.
They also carry a nice selection of shoes and toys, although again - since space is at a premium, selection can be limited. But what they do have out is great!
They have very little room for parking, but surprisingly I have never had a problem finding a spot.

This is a great consignment shop with two locations-one in Hillsboro and one in Portland. They carry everything for babies and kids including bigger items like cribs and strollers too. They have somewhat reasonable prices, and great sale prices. They are pretty professional when dealing with consignors and I have had good experiences when consigning and getting paid from them. They are a bit cramped in the current locations, and could use a bit more space, but other than that I have no complaints.
