The Bane of my Existence 4/18/2023

The PPA is a horrible private corporation that only exists because the government wouldn't be nearly as efficient. Convinced PPA workers are miserable failed cops that still feel the need to demonstrate power over others. I live on Arnold St in Philly and its 2hr parking because there are businesses close by... however everyone there rents so we can't get proof of residency for a permit easily. Me and my neighbors continually get ticketed there with the alternative being to park on the street where my roommate got her catalytic converter stolen. Can't wait for the new apartments to be built in East Falls so we have even less parking. more

They are nothing but sharks. Watch out if you are in the Chestnut Hill area. They love to patrol that end of Germantown Ave. where all the restaurants are because you are probably eating or leisurely shopping in one of the boutiques. Remember these minimum wage fake cops have to earn their day's quota, so they are NOT going to cut you any breaks nowadays in 2013. If you happen to come upon one of the parking authority folks writing you a ticket I suggest you take advantage of the opportunity to totally vent and let the person know how you feel. Being nice doesn't get your ticket canceled. You will only feel stupid afterwards. Verbalize your frustrations. That's what I did when I got my ticket today for 41 bux. I told that lady she was a real jerk and she should get a real job--a job that doesn't involve stealing ppl's hard earnings and one in which she doesn't make ppl miserable all day long. Sure, I still have to fork over the $ for this ticket, but at least I feel like I got 41 dollars worth of curses at her. Next time I might take her ticketbook and hurl it in the sewer and save every last person who got a ticket that day some money. more

Make sure when you go to Philadelphia, you read the signs if you able to park at a certain location or not. Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) agents are very sneaky and are considered aliens to Philadelphians. Please do not park at a handicap sign, it might cost you around $300 for parking at a handicap spot. PPA agent sometimes wait next to your car until the meter expires and start writing ticket instantly. They are also known for writing tickets before they even get to your car while you are sitting in your car. One secret is that they are allowed to void a ticket if they are in a good mood. It takes them to use their walkie talkie to get approval. But knowing these people who look annoyed all the time you might want to give them a compliment before you ask them to void the ticket. Many have told me that when they go down to 12 and Filbert Streets to pay for ticket, PPA agents are waiting to write you another ticket while you are paying your ticket. more
