I WAS CHARGED FOR A FOLLOW UP APPT. 5/3/2011

I had been in the past and didn't have any problems before. I even had my Mom take her cat there in one emergency situation. Well, I had taken my cat in last week because I was very worried about her. I had written down everything I observed and already tried and handed it to the receptionist when we arrived. She was in the files so we waited and eventually went back to the examining room finally. Everything went fine and I was talking about the price of gas and of course that I wanted to get out of there paying as little as possible. The first estimate that Dr. Bermes brought me was way too much. I said we need to take off 1 or 2 items if possible and she asked me if funds were limited. I'm thinking, "Is she Sherlock?" "Du yes I just said we needed to take items off the estimate." Anyway she did take 2 items off for me, that was good. I got out of there with med put in my cats ear thinking the problem would be taken care of (for $116 which was going to start out as @ $340 wo horsey). So next week I bring her in for the follow up and she wants to run a test, says the med did not work and I was like, "No I am not paying out anymore money." So I left and then I was called the next day and the receptionist left a message that said I had owed @$26 for the follow up. I called back and said that no one told me to begin with that there was going to be a charge for a follow up appt, I had never heard of being charged for a follow up appt, and that I was going to pay it, but I won't go there again. In my opinion if you are rich and you like helping inexperienced Veterinarians learn what the more experienced ones already know like how not to run several tests and charge outrageous prices when it is unnecessary then take your pet there. more

Dr. Geni Bermes is wonderful!!! 8/19/2010

Dr. Bermes is wonderful!!! Been a customer for about 3 yrs with 3 dogs & 1 cat. I have always felt that she really cares about my animals and listens to what I am saying B4 talking. I really like the receptionists help when I call in with a question; instead of saying bring your animal in and see the doctor, they often know the answer or say wait a minute and consult a doctor and then tell me what I can do without taking the time of having to bring the animal in and go through the office visit routine. The 7:00am to 11:00pm hours are great too. REMEMBER this is an emergency vet clinic so sometimes while you are there an emergency case is admitted and their is a longer wait. I didn't mind waiting while they rushed to save a dog's life hit by a truck. more

Pros: I have to give them a star cause there is no option for none Cons: EVERYTHING more

Hidden charges, incompassionate 10/24/2009

I brought my kitten in with a broken leg to this hospital. Not only did I wait almost 45 mins while my cat was in pain and some of you were chit-chatting with each other outside our waiting room (with only a handful of others to wait on), but the results were devestating. You told me my cat's fractured leg would require surgery of almost $2,000.00. Or, I could have his leg amputated for a lower cost. On the sheet of paper you handed me, you said surgery would be needed to correct many of his issues. Funny, because I got a second opinion. Not only did they laugh at the idea of amputation, but they said surgery would possibly cause more issues. One month and only $170 later plus a free visit at my main vet, my cat is walking normally again after wearing only a splint. Which, by the way - the second vet had to replace. But what I find outstanding is this...When I brought my cat back to your clinic (because of his immense pain) to stay overnight (you almost wouldn't take him). On top of it all, one of your staff members called me (20 mins after I arrived home after an exhausting night) to request I come back because I forgot to bring my cat's pain killers and leave them with you! Then informed me you would need to charge me if I didn't come back. You also charged me AGAIN to replace the cast YOU put on my cat's leg because it was not secure the first time! Are you serious? You're an animal emergency vet and you couldn't spare one vile of pain killer after I dished out hundreds for the visit or replaced a cast that was poorly put on in the first place? And on top of everything, you charged me for an additional set of shots my cat already had...you said it was just procedure...but this was after you already handled my animal. shame on you. at least pretend you care about your profession. Pros: none Cons: many more

Wonderful Vet, Excellent Experience 10/9/2009

I have taken my pets to this clinic several times and have always found them to be very professional and up to par in every aspect of their work. Most recently, I took my cat in for declawing and neutering and had no problems whatsoever with the service. It surprises me to see so many negative reviews, and that most of these are mispelled and badly phrased. Do these traits go hand in hand? I think so. Just because they can't pay for treatment makes it the doctor's fault? Please, disregard their ignorant statements. No problems with Perrin-410 on my part. I strongly recommend them to anybody in need of veterinary assistance. 5/5 stars. Pros: Friendly, knowledgeable staff, excellent results Cons: Cramped waiting area, semi-inconvenient parking more

Great Experience 10/9/2009

This clinic was really great. They took excellent care of my animals. I was seen very quickly. They were quite busy but still took time to answer questions and explain things. The tech was wonderful. Pros: good hours, low prices Cons: none more

Wonderful Vet 10/6/2009

I LOVE this clinic. I feel the doctors and staff at this clinic go above and beyond unlike other clinics I have been to. The seem to truely care about my pets and that makes me feel comfortable with them. The are always friendly and welcoming. I wouldn't go anywhere else for vet care. Pros: hours, entire staff Cons: absolutely none! more

Waste of important time! 5/16/2009

I have visited this animal hospital a few times during a pet emergency, and for the most part there services have been very average. Nothing particularly impressive, but my pet lived, so I had nothing to complain about. On my last visit however I came in with a very sick dog. I explained what her symptoms were and gave a few thoughts as to what might have caused it. The veterinarian seemed incapable of forming an opinion about what she thought was going on. She continually asked me what I thought the course of treatment should be. I found this maddening sense I was PAYING for HER consultation! She convinced us that x-rays were needed. After the x-ray she said that they didn't find the source of the Gracie's (my dog) problem. Then suggested the SAME PROCEDURE!! She NEVER came to a conclusion or ever a guess as to what was ailing my dog, but thought it necessary to make a prescription anyway. After searching the presciption online, and talking to a friend how works as a vet tech I found that the prescription had terrible side effects and in some cases have CAUSED DEATH!!! I will never take ANY of my pets to this vet again. Pros: The Staff are very nice. Cons: A complete waste of my time. more

Dog died & tried to charge me for it! 4/21/2009

This place demanded that my dog have 5 surgeries & eventually my dog died consequently & they still sent me a bill. I would never take my pet there again! Cons: Lots more

Great Clinic! 2/27/2009

What a relief to finally find a clinic that is open when you need them and does not charge an arm and a leg! The girls up front were great...even tho they were crazy busy, they kept me updated on the wait and were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The technician was great...treated my pet like she was his own. The doctor gave me options on treatment.....didn't try to force the most expensive service like some places I have been. Overall, this is the best experience I have had at ANY clinic and since they are open 7 days, I will be switching all of my pets records to them. Great people and service. Other clinics could learn a thing or two from this group. Keep up the good work guys! Pros: Hours, great staff, awesome doctors! Cons: Small waiting room, could use some updates more

Very Horrible 10/12/2008

Do not go here. I spent 9 hours getting the run around from three different front desk people. very bad customer service. Tried to charge us for services that we did not approve. Pay a little more and go to an organized clinic. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone who cares about there animal!!! more

Great Vet Clinic, a life-saver in emergency situations 4/17/2008

I have had a great experience with this vet clinic. The Dr's are very thorough and knowledgeable. I had to take my cat to the Broadway Emergency Clinic and was charged over $1000 for the same care that the Perrin Beitel clinic provided. Highly recommend! The hours are great ,as they are open until 11pm. Pros: The office hours Cons: Front desk staff a bit unprofessional, at times. more

HORRIBLE 3/29/2008

HORRIBLE customer service from the receptionists. The overall experience I have has been horrible. There are hidden charges and fees that make your bill go up and up and up (don't be fooled by low cost shots and boarding fees over the phone). They run this like a business, wanting money, rather than focusing on the pet at hand. I have two dogs that loved going to the vet and seeing the people when I lived in another state, but when I moved here my dogs are acting different when I take them in and when I have picked them up for boarding. I am definately not going back. Make sure you look at the charges before you pay. When I moved here and I switched over to them I had my dogs papers from the previous vet. They put the info in the computer and gave it back to me, but when I came back to board them for the first time, they were demanding shot records and were going to charge me to give shots they had already had. I gave them the number to my vet, but after calling them they said they got a message that it was no longer a working number. I called right after that and got someone from my vet in another state (so they lied) . They were just trying to get more money from me. Be careful: I have only seen one vet there and for less than a minute. He said my dog needed his teeth cleaned (i had them cleaned 3 months prior at my previous vet). They just want money... To pick up dog/cat feces is 2.50 (even getting a shot is a 2.50 waste removal fee). To get a pill to remove all fleas when you board is 12.50 (even though you have them on flea/tick Frontline and your pets DON'T have a flea problem). They will not let you board them without this pill so it gets expensive. They don't tell you these fees...so in the long run it is NOT cheap. The staff I have dealt with have been rude and in my opinion don't care. They are there for a paycheck. This seems to be the culture there. I love my dogs enough not to take them there. Pros: hours of operation 7am-11 pm everyday Cons: Horrible staff, HIDDEN fees more

I have taken my dog and cat there for both emergency and regular care. I have been very happy with the vets and staff. Pros: hours more

Keep looking for a vet they are a rip off 12/18/2007

We went there last week with our dog. The front desk lady was very rude, every customer that came in she would roll her eyes. The vet wasn't much better, have been going there for years and I finely realized they are a major rip off, I have never walked out of there without paying at least $500 and never really get any treatment. I have switched vets and will never recommend them to anyone and will never go there again. Pros: non more
