Best

I love this place for the bar scene & the restaurant. It has great seafood and the entrees are reasonably priced, most under $20 - even the crab cakes.

The Quintessential DC Eatery! 1/17/2006

The Old Ebbitt Grill is a unique experience not to be missed. You walk in and see the velvet booths and dark paneled interiors and wonder if you're out of your league. But this place welcomes DC power players and tourists alike. Their raw bar happy hour is also one of the greatest specials in the entire city. On Monday through Thursday from 3-6 and 11 pm to 1 am, everything is half off! You can get a $90 oyster platter for $45! And the food is terrific, too. Their crabcake is spectauclar and when in season, they work wonders with copper river salmon. The burgers are pretty well-known, too. more

Best Dining Experience Ever Had 8/8/2005

Old Ebbitt’s Grill is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. First off, the food is simply to die for. Everything my party and I had when we went was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. My personal preference is the New York Strip steak, although the menu varies depending on what’s in season. The wait staff is extremely personable and attentive. The ambiance is another thing that makes this place so wonderful. The room is lit just perfectly, and there’s enough room between tables so that it seems like a social place, but enough privacy is maintained for each group of people. Truly an amazing dining experience. It’s no wonder I go back there every time I visit DC. more
