I have never written a review before, but this place is too bad for me not to. When it comes to hair styling/ coloring it takes two things 1) customer service 2) skills. I found neither at this place! The first time I went there it was good. Second time wasn't good but I thought perhaps it was a fluke. This last time was terrible (I think the first time was a fluke!). Cons: Customer service, Lacking skills, over priced more

Gabriel is one of the BEST stylists. We moved to TX 2 years ago and for about that length of time I have gone to many different places to get my hair cut and colored. All 5 different times that I have gone to different people around SA, I have absolutely hated it. I was walking through the North Star mall and came across Visible Changes and the stylists all seem to have crazy awesome hair. Usually that's a great sign.....and lucky for me, it was! I set up an appointment over the phone and didn't know who I was getting. Gabriel did an amazing job and listened to what I wanted. He knows hair and up to date styles based on the cut I received! I had layers done and it looks amazing! You will not be disappointed by getting Gabriel as your hair stylist! oh yeah, and he's funny as anything :) Pros: Ambience is awesome and everyone has a uniqueness to them and I love that!! Go over to La Cantera and ask for Prissy. She is a great hairstylist, I have known her for years and she has never let me down. You feel important when your in her hands and she knows how to make your hair look perfect. She takes you step by step so your not afraid for a new look and always recommends shampoos and conditioners that work great for your hair. I had bridal pictures and she recommended me to maria for color, she was sweet and friendly I will definitly request her for color again. Prissy cut and did an up-do which was beautiful. I told her what I wanted and it was more than what I expected. So go to La Cantera and ask for her and you will love your style. Pros: Service, Great staff, color, cuts, blowdrying, styles more

I have been going to Visible Changes for 6 years now (3 in Austin and 3 in San Antonio at Northstar Mall) and I refuse to go anywhere else. Nahum is the best colorist there and is very pleasant to visit with. She knows her stuff and is able to get you in and out. She also is great for recommending new styles and is honest with you about how long the process will take if you are making a drastic change. She makes the perfect formula everytime and is good with the eyebrows, too. Fariba is my favorite for a cut and style. She is very attentive and makes sure you will be comfortable with the style she cuts. I recently trusted her to lob off 14 inches of my hair to donate to Locks of Love, and she did great with the new short style. She really loves styling hair and it shows thru with her patience and attention to detail. If you go to Visible Changes Northstar, make sure you ask for Nahum & Fariba! visiblle changes has been nothing been great hair cuts and styles since i started going!! i always go to letty! she treats you awesome! always has a smile, and willing to listen to what you have to say and what you want. only does what you ask! every other month we do some color, it always comes out great. doesnt wash out easy either. my color always has to grow out. after going to visible changes and seeing letty's work... i will never go to another salon! she always goes the extra mile. very very very talented woman! about four friends, my sister and my grandparents go to her as well now! i only let her touch my hair now. john at the front desk is awesome guy as well.. great guy...!! Mari has been fabulous and completely revitalized my hair color for my September 2008 wedding. She is FANTASTIC and knows her job well. She has the best suggestions. She is sincere, personable, and always wears her smile to work:) I will not go to another!! Thank you Mari - you are THE BEST EVER!:):):). I have been going to Visible Changes ever so often for the last couple years. I recently tried going to to the La Cantera location because I was recomended to Melissa for color. I was very impressed with the new salon, it is a whole lot nicer and brighter. The front desk people seemed so much more friendly and caring then at the North Star Mall location. I was incredibly let down when I sat down and realized the colorist (Melissa) was probably the rudest,most self absorbed, uncaring hair colorist I have ever come in contact with. She seems to care more about getting the job done quickly than she does about really taking care of the customer and she is snappy and rude. DO NOT SEE THIS WOMAN or you will walk out feeling offended and hurt. Visible changes really needs to give a lesson of customer service to its employees. Visible Changes has really CHANGED the way I treat my hair. I have been to Tony and Guy, as well as to REGIS. I was paying good amount of money to have my hair the RED i wanted. I had to return to these salons every 3 weeks to have it redone because it would fade from red to copper. I HATE COPPER. After spending $200 every 2-3 weeks I decided to go to VISIBLE CHANGES after it was highly recommended. I gave the place a call to find out prices. Whoever answered the phone gave good detail on price ranges. Tired of going to people who had no idea what COLOR RED is i decided to go with the top of line hair color profressional. When I got there i was treated like a paying customer. Very nice and professional. They let me know who I would be seeing ( CHRISTINE) and had me change. Despite the fact that I was 10 minutes late, they still saw me as soon as I got there. When I met CHRISTINE AU, I explained what I wanted done to my hair. At the time my hair looked like a beat up tomato. Different colors of red mixed in with black. Christine took the time to explain what she wouild be doing to my hair. SHE DIDN""T LEAVE ME. She stayed with me during my hair color and did not start another customer until she was done with my hair. My hair now is black with RUBY RED lights. I LOVE MY HAIR. Not only did I pay less than what I typically payed at the other locations, BUT i have not had to return. I have not been back in 2 months because the color is still VIBRANT and BEAUTIFUL.. I work for a health care facility and deal with patients all the time. I get compliments on my hair on a daily basis. I have recommended several friends to this location and they too have had nothing but good remarks on VISIBLE CHANGES. CHRISTINE explained she use to be a red head for some time and expalined to me what to do on how to make the color last and what to use to keep the color fresh. CHRISTINE YOU ROCK!!!! I have been to Visible Changes twice and both times have been extremely satisfied. I have used the same person both times, Jamie Keating. She does both cut and color. Each time she has done my hair, I have gotten exactly what I wanted, contrasting highlights and lowlights. I get a ton of compliments on my hair. I know several other people who go there and love it as well. I will never go anywhere else. It appears that if you use a separate colorist and stylist, there may be a waiting time in between which could increase the amount of time you spend in the salon, but I suppose it has its benefits. Ive been here before and I got a decent looking haircut but this time it was horrible. I got there at 8:30 so I guess they thought it would be alright to rush a haircut before they closed. I told her to trim my bangs and she cut them off. I told her I usually sweep my bangs to the side but now I don't have any bangs. I look like an idiot and feel embarrassed to even go out in public. Well, i went in with a very positive attitude, because i was getting ""the best person they had"". well, HAHA! NOT! The person DID NOT even cut my bangs right! how hard is it to cut bangs! they look AWFUL! Then i asked this person how much would it cost to straighten it, they told me 12 dollars,, well I didn't TELL them to straighten it,, but they proceeded to do so anyways......... now i should ve stopped them, but i figured he was just doing it, and i wasn't going to get charged, because i DID NOT tell him to do it!!!!! well i get to the register and SURE ENOUGH, 12 dollars had been added to the already 65 dollars bill! I COULDVE STRAIGHTENED MY OWN DAMN HAIR AT HOME!!!! so i payed 78 dollars for a SIMPLE haircut that i HATE! my bangs are the WORST part about it,,, i wanted wispy bangs. now they are too short to go to the side and too long to be bangs! they don't blend with the hair at all! i will NEVER go back! this is the 2nd haircut that i have gotten here that i didnt like! i miss Dallas, where there are actually talented people! I went to Visible Changes based on positive feedback from diffrent people. I was expecting this great haircut of my life. Well, the first time I went I explained how I wanted my hair done. Well it didn't turn out the way I wanted, I was very dissapointed because everybody raved about them. I called them and told them I was not happy with my haircut so they said I could come in within 7 days and have it redone, which I proceeded to do. I told them I only wanted it texturized a little bit more so I could flip it out. Now my hair is WAY shorter then when I went in and STILL does not have the style I wanted. I feel I could have went to a somewhere else and spent a lot less money for what I got. I tried several hours last night trying to make it do somthing for work this morning. Mary E. is the best colorist I have found, since coming to SA in 1999. She communicates with you until both of you are in agreement about what you want. My hair ALWAYS turns out great and I NEVER have to be nervous about the result. more

I lived in San Antonio for over a year and never found a salon that could do what I wanted them to... natural looking highlites and lowlights- where the lowlights actually MATCHED my hair color... until Dianna. She's simply amazing, as she's the one who trains everyone else! I've seen her 5 times and each time was great. She remembered me and exactly what I wanted. I was extremely pleased with my experience at Visible Changes. Everyone was very helpful and kind. They all seemed to love what they are doing and that makes for a great atmosphere. Though it is a bit pricy, it is well worth the money spent. I had always heard people saying how great it was, but it was not until I went that I saw for myself. My highlights were outstanding. The was that thay were done, touch ups were not needed for almost three months. the hair cut was even better! Four months later, I still have shape and style. This is the first time in a LONG time that I received one of the worst haircuts in my life. To begin with the same fool who cut my hair shampooed my hair but when it came time to pay the bill she had added an extra 15.00 to the bill because of a treatment. There was NO treatment she shampooed it and if she put conditioner on it she rinsed it out 2 seconds later...HELLO isn't a treatment when you leave it on your head AT LEAST more then 5 minutes....she didn't listen to how I wanted my hair cut and proceeded to cut it how she wanted to. I was stunned and .....I hate the way my hair looks. I will never go there again...also they kept scheduling me when the stylist they book me with was not there! more
