Avoid Working Here The News Group 9/25/2007

There is a lot work to do for one person. They should pay more for all the work that the marchandiser have to do. I have to say its not the work that makes the job hard its the people who are over you. Its like they only look out for there own. Meaning there sister, brother, uncle, aunt and so on. Thats right!! they have all of there people working up there. This job is more for Mexican. Thats why they pay so little because anit no Blk person go do all of that work for pennys. Peopel come and go every meeting. Dont no body really stay there that long. Its good because you can work whenever. The company dont look out for there people. The supervisor dont help you with nothing. One day I called in, they said that they would do my stores for me. plz the next day the store come calling me asking why havent the mags. been put up yet? The warehouse if full of nothing but mexicans working for pennys, is smalls in there and they have rodents. I wouldnt tell no one about this jod. Its just not worth it. Pros: Work when u want. Cons: To much work for the little pay. more

Bad labor practices, avoid applying for a job here as a warhouse worker or driver. 8/15/2007

This company is a disaster. It has an enviroment of don't tell and you keep your job. The company hides the fact that it needs as told by it's employees inprovements but it goes 90'% of the time egnored . Broken/damaged badly needed ,replaced equipment is long over due. I've visited this jobsite and the workers didn't want to talk for fear of losing there jobs. Most of the employees are mexican and don't or won't speak english. When around African-Americans, they are told not to speak and to avoid African-Americans or anyone who speaks english. Two employees got in an accident because the truck they were riding in the wheel axle came loose and the drive had to steer the truck off the road and come to a stop. Another truck has a damaged windshield wiper and the supervisors was told about it and it's still there months later. The lazyness of the supervisory staff is so unacceptible at this point. I also noted some discrimination to it's workers. Three African-American drivers complainted that the amount of work given them kept them from coming in to the warhouse on time before close ( which is 5am to 5pm ). The African -American drivers complaint that they found themselves unloading and loading after hours while the mexican drivers are done well before 3pm very often. The clients this company delivers to maybe pleased with the service but I can't understand how. So as far as I'm concerned, this company receives one star ( this is only because of the company's client satisfaction in service) until it cleans up it's hiring and labor practices. It is sad but true this is of many companies nowadays adopting work ethics such as this. If I was mayor, this company would either clean up real fast or be out of business because the city can't afford to waste man power and taxes trying to cleanup what this company and companies like it won't cleanup. Companies like this are prime targets for illegal cheap labor. Pros: Geting a job here is easy in warehouse or driver. Cons: The labor is overwheming and obviously unfair. more
