Airport from hi-tech hell 9/1/2009

Among large US airports, I'd rather use just about any other, with the exception of Kennedy. The distances are outrageous; it's virtually impossible to get a cart to stop for you; and finding the rental car desks is an absolute nightmare. And that's not talking about how hard some it is just to find your way from point A to point B. Then there is the issue of no flight monitors inside security as you come out of customs. It would be nice to be able to find out what one's connecting flight gate number is while waiting to get through the security BS. But no, you have to wait until you've got past the Neanderthal inspectors. If you've got a tight connection, this can be a real problem. Although this is more of a blanket criticism of US airports, how about some free luggage carts? EVERYWHERE else in the world, they're free. But in the US, the corporate capitalist monster must have its way, so carts have been made a money-making enterprise. If you don't have any small bills or have no credit card, this is yet another nightmare. Pros: Decent food options, very little else Cons: Badly signposted, labyrinthine, (often) surly staff more

Clean & Efficient Airport Hub 12/12/2002

I've traveled to airports all around the world and not many rate up there with this airport. I'd say it's the best airport in the nation. It has gone under major renovation in only the last five years which virtually rebuilt the inside of the terminal. There are gates for all aircraft now (including regionals). One draw back is there is some great walking distances along the C and G Concourses (although lined with moving sidewalks). The Travelers' Assistance volunteers are very helpful if you need any help or just directions. Pros: Great area with shops, Clean, Near the cities Cons: Long walks more
