Worst

I had my haircut in December 2009, I told Jody what I wanted and he ignored me and gave me the exact cut. He charges $85.00 for a 15 minute service. I don't mind paying the $85....

Hairstylists are very friendly except for one man, but the managers or owners? are so snotty. I feel very unwelcome there. Its almost as if they are doing you a favor letting you in their door. Not a relaxing or fun experience. more

I went to Luxe salon for about 3 years and saw the same stylist who always did a great job with my cut and color. I made the huge mistake of going somewhere alot closer to my house, cause I ""logically"" thought at the time it would save me gas, travel time, and i got sick of downtown parking with feeding the meters, parallel parking, etc. Boy do I regret my decision to stop going to Luxe!!! more

Best Salon LUXE and stylist LAURIE FLEAGLE!!!! 1/17/2011

I just moved here from out of state a few months ago! After asking several people I've met where-on-Earth they got such gorgeous hair, I found LUXE! Laurie Freagle is my stylist and is absolutely amazing! She's honest, helpful, and super creative! I have been experimenting with blond, and she does an amazing job! Blond is a difficult color for a lot of stylist to do, but Laurie Fleagle does a BEAUTIFUL job making sure it looks amazing! I am VERY picky about stylists and I would recommend LUXE and LAURIE FLEAGLE to EVERYONE! This salon is absolutely awesome and it's worth driving downtown for! You will not be disappointed! more

Looking for great color & style? Meet George. 1/15/2011

GEORGE at Luxe Salon is fantastic! I've lived in Denver since 1989 and have experienced a lot of good and bad cut/color work over the years. George is hands down the best color artist (yes, artist!) in Denver. He created a style that fits ""me."" I love his cuts and color and can't imagine my world without George. Thank you Citysearch for helping me find him! more

Worst Experience Ever! 12/28/2010

I had a cut and color scheduled with Arica. Ten minutes before my appointment the receptionist called to tell me that Arica came in sick but I could reschedule with Laurie for the same day. I took the 11:30 with Laurie. Then I got a phone call back telling me that Arica is staying and I can still see her, despite her being sick. I declined and said I'd take the appt with Laurie instead. I arrived at Luxe 5 mintues late. Laurie wasn't ready for another 5 minutes so by the time I was sitting in the chair 10 minutes had gone by. I showed Laurie what I wanted done and she gave me this look like I had 3 heads and then proceeded to tell me that she didn't have enough time to do a cut and color because I was 10 minutes late. She gave a multitude of other excuses and before I knew it I was out of her chair and on my way home. I could not be more annoyed that I was cancelled on ten minutes before my first appt and then cancelled on again after going out of my way to get downtown. All on Christmas Eve might I add. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! more

Ever since I got my hair cut by Laurie I have gotten so many compliments. Also I love that my cut is growing out so beautifully as well. Laurie really listens to you and has a great sense of aesthetic, so you can leave your hair in her hands and love what she comes up with. more

The best hair cut and color EVER! 7/9/2010

After going to the wrong stylist, and having my hair severely over processed to the point that if I went back to that stylist for another ""bleaching"" my hair would start breaking off. After months of not wearing my hair down because it was so ""fried"" I decided to find a new stylist. Hallelujah I found George. He spent time consulting me about my hairs condition, and guided me towards making healthier choices for my hair. The color he gave me is so natural and beautiful. No oranges, and bleach tones. Pure and natural. He uses only the finest less harsh products on the hair. The cut is fantastic. Bouncy, fun and fresh. Unreal attitude 12/11/2009

The apparent success of Luxe has gone to these people?s heads. The minimum-wage women at the front desk are too busy posing and gossiping about customers to actually help anyone. And if you do get their attention, they have all the contempt and attitude of the world?s snootiest maitre d's. Denver ain?t L.A., New York or Paris. It?d be very amusing, if it weren?t so appalling. If you?re not a regular or a good friend of one of the stylists, you will definitely receive second-class treatment and sub-par results. There ARE other salons that do good work and don?t have this kind of prejudice. Find another place and spare yourself the humiliation. Worst Cut 12/7/2009

In addition to the cons I listed, the worst part of my experience at Luxe was an exceptionally poor cut. I would rate this cut in the top 2 worst cuts I have ever had. I will not be returning to this salon. I have tried two different stylists here and have officially given up on this salon. I will be finding another salon when my hair grows out in 10 months or so. Why do long? Because I left the salon with above chin-length hair despite repeatedly indicating ""I am trying to grow my hair out"" and do not want to lose any length (I entered the salon with hair one inch from my shoulders). If you like those kinds of mishaps and adventures, then this salon may be for you. Pros: Was rated highly online. This is what drew me in. The worst hair salon EVER!!!! 11/17/2009

When I looked online for the best hair salon in Denver, this salon came up for one of the best. I made an appointment thinking that I was going to have this awesome dye job. I left the salon with my hair looking like a pumpkin! It was soooo bad the blonde was yellow and my carmel was orange. My friends and family told me how bad it looked. I was in tears the next day, and the salon was closed on Sunday so I was unable to get it fixed. I had no choice but to go to a different salon and have it fixed. When I talked to the manager she said that there was nothing she could do and could not refund me my money and she had a HUGE attitude with me about it! They are way to expensive and dont know how to color hair! Be aware if you decide to go here! Pros: Nothing!!! Cons: Hair color and management!! more

I've been going to Luxe Salon, and specifically to George Arias, for eight years. George is, in a word, fabulous. For years he tweaked my short haircut to keep it up to date. Then he helped me grow it out to shoulder-length while still keeping it looking great. And the color has always been spot-on perfect. George *listens*--and that's really important. Ok let me start by saying that my hairdresser moved away .....so i was asking around and was sent to Luxe to see Hannah .....I have curly hair and it is so hard to find someone that knows how to cut curly hair.....well anyone with curly hair look no further Hannah is your Girl she is amazing and I will say that I will look no further......She is very professional and knows just what will look good on you......and I hate to say it but she is better than the last person that cut my hair.....and lets face it Hairdressers are like tattoo artist you wouldnt let just anyone tattoo you just like you wouldnt let someone else cut your hair .......So PLEASE Hannah dont ever move away I may never find another hairdresser as good with my mop like you are ......Thank you so much for making me feel so Beautiful again......and making me love my curls...... A Stellar Salon 2/6/2009

I have been a client of George Arias for several years and have consistently been extremely happy with both the cut and color he provides. My hair is very short requiring frequent cuts, and each time, I like not only the initial cut but how it grows out. George is a perfectionist in the best possible way taking the time and possessing the talent to create a great cut and color. He is the perfect blend of professionalism, talent, and integrity. more

not bad, but I don't think I'll go back 1/30/2009

I have very fine wavy/curly hair and was really hoping that I could magically be transformed into Tina Fey, with bangs, like she wears on 30 Rock. My stylist (Hanna) probably should have warned me away from that instead of trying to do it. I now have weird frizzy curles for bangs. Even though I told her that I don't like to straighten my hair or use a lot of product (I'm lazy and let it air dry), I now have to to keep my bangs from looking like I stuck my finger in a socket. She also used way too much product styling my hair after she cut it. Pros: easy access by RTD, evening appointments Cons: didn't warn me away from a style that didn't work well with my hair more

best salon 1/28/2009

I have been to Luxe a few times now, and i will continue to go back again and again. I see Lisa for cut and color and she always does an awesome job. She listens well and gives you her honest opinion of what would look good. She also gives a great scalp massage when shampooing your hair, which is one of the best parts of getting your hair done! One time i was running late due to traffic but they were totally cool about it. I also appreciate that i never feel pressure to buy any products. Overall i totally reccomend this place to anyone! Sherry is the BEST! 1/15/2009

I just moved to Denver back in September and had no clue where to go, after visiting the Spa at Larimer, the owner recommended Sherry at Luxe. I have long brown hair and she does really natural highlights (no stripes!!) I also get compliments on my cut all the time. I highly recommend Sherry, she's outgoing, fun to talk to, and really an expert at cut/color. more
