When it opened in 1976, Afterwords Cafe--nestled within Dupont's Kramerbooks--was pioneering in being the first bookstore to have both a full bar as well as food, cappuccino and espresso. It remains a favorite today, where patrons browse books and listen to live music while waiting for a table for brunch, dinner, or a late-night meal after last call.
