when i called to get an estimate to get my front brake pads changed, there price was $40 more than other shops. but that was ok since they were very close and location was important because it saved me time. after getting there the price went from $200 to more than $800. i told i did not want to have the work done and left. i then took my car to a Ford Dealership and had them check my brakes. the checked it an told me i need to change the brake pads and ""turn down"" the rotors. i then show them the klingemann estimates where they clamed the rotors and other parts needed to be changed. they to me the ""other"" work did not need to be done and the parts were fine. more

This location at 117 E Oltorf is not actually a Walker Tire. It's Goodyear. But I was driving on a donut, so when I got there, I decided to try it out. Arrived at 8 am with a flat tire and didn't leave until 10:30. They treated me like I was a woman and therefore know nothing about cars. Told me they would start work on my car in 10 minutes; 45 minutes later, I asked the guy at the counter because I could see that my car out front hadn't moved, and he brushed me off. A man in the waiting area with me said he would never go there except his company has a contract to get all their vehicle work done there--and the contract companies' cars get put ahead of others! Sure enough, despite coming in about an hour after I did, he left about 15 minutes before I did. The flat was fixed for about $16--but they just threw the spare in the trunk instead of putting it beneath the floor of the trunk, where it goes. There are plenty of other places to get a flat fixed--I've heard from several people that Walker Tire is recommended.
