I have been going to KK for 3 years this October 2011. Sarah has been the best hairstylist and colorist I have ever had. The entire staff is wonderful, professional and educated on a continuous basis per Kris. The way that Keith and Kris run their business and salon is absolutely wonderful. They have the right mix of comfortable atmosphere and professionalism. I highly recommend them if you are searching for a new stylist. You will NOT be disappointed! more

I can not believe how good a job Amber did with my eyebrows. I have blonde eyebrows and they tend to get messy but I have always been afraid to wax because most places take half my eyebrow off! Amber shaped them better than I have ever had them in my life and I am 22. I left feeling so pretty with a new shape. Honestly, I am one of those people that does not believe online reviews but let me tell you- Amber can be trusted with anyone. PROMISE!!! more

I've been getting my eyebrows waxed since I was 17, so I've been to my share of salons. I'm now 35 and have been going to Amber for 3 years. I can honestly say she truly has a talent. She is able to find the perfect eyebrow shape for your face-shape, which, from what I've experienced, is not so easy. She now has a client for life, and I would recommend her to anyone! more

So I found this salon online years ago after my stylist decided he wanted to quit the business. I have to say I absolutely love this place! I drive an hour to get there because the quality of hairstylists is above and beyond anything I've ever experienced anywhere else. Once I drove out for an appointment and my stylist at the time was sick and couldn't do my hair. The owner of the salon said the next appointment was on him. Sure enough, the next time I came in I went to pay for my service which was well over $250.00 and the awesome front desk girl Autumn said "No Charge". Okay girls... anyone knows that's about the best thing to hear ever! Now Deanne does me and my daughter's hair and we absolutely LOVE her! She recently gave me a whole new 'do for the New Year and I've received nothing but compliments. Even after I had a mini meltdown 'cause I couldn't style it, she squeezed me in and gave me another lesson so I could make it look as great as she did! Thanks Keith Kristofer's for providing such a great service and thanks Deanne for makin' me and my little one feel absolutely beautiful! more

My husband and I have been going to this salon for awhile. We followed Jacque there for manicure services from another salon and started using Deanne for hair cuts and Amber for facials. We've been very happy and have continued to go there although we moved to San Antonio in '09. Oh, and I can't submit a review without saying how awesome Autumn and Sasha are, who handle appointments and cover the front desk! more

Went in for a hair cut, nothing difficult, just some layers. This is one of the worst haircuts I have ever had. It can't be fixed, I have to grow it out. DO NOT GO TO KEITH KRISTOFER SALON. The first time I found this salon Larin cut and colored my hair and Amber found the perfect eyebrow somewhere on my face, but since I was in town on a business trip, I thought I was just lucky. When I returned to the Dallas area, I kept getting compliments. I mean LOTS of compliments. I went back to my former stylist as she was local. It took three months to grow out that cut and color, and I made my next appointment four hours away. I've continued to return (driving eight hours in a day...yes just for hair and eyebrows) for nearly a year. Larin and I discuss my hair. Really discuss my hair until we are both satisfied that we know what I want. And Amber and her amazing eyebrow ability? Magical. I was in Austin for a meeting and wanted somewhere to get my hair colored and cut. Based on other reviews, I made an appointment at Keith Kristofer with Freddy. He was fantastic! Not only were my color and cut done just perfectly, but what impressed me the most was that since I was in town on business, and live in Wisconsin, it is likely that I will not be a repeat customer. I was worried ahead of time that whoever did my hair might not be quite as careful with me as they would be with a 'regular' but I needn't have worried! He was friendly, personable, and did the best job imaginable. I just wish that I didn't live so far away and that I could be a regular customer! Thank you! I had been going to a very high end salon in Austin for about 9 years. It was time for a change as my hair was not looking its best (stylist just wasn't paying attention anymore, I suspect). So i found the reviews of KK online and tried it. I'm hooked now. Carrie did my color and Emily the haircut. The color is better than my previous color, more depth to the highlights. Carrie did a good call on that one! She was exceedingly professional and I am very pleased. Emily's haircut was one of the best I've ever had. She told me how to blow it dry on my own and her tips were right on! My hair actually looks good now, even when I style it. That's a first for me. Finally!!!! Great salon, check it out. I've been in Austin almost a year now. When I first came here I used Citysearch to help find a place (Joie de Vie), however the experience was terrible. So I waited 7 months for another haircut and used citysearch again, this time going to Keith Kristofer. When I made the appt I told them what had happened, and that I needed a haircut before Christmas and that I was quite nervous based on my previous experience. When I came in I had a few minutes to look at their retail line and was happy to see they carried Kerastase (I was out of my previous shampoo etc and had been wanting to try Kerastase). I met my stylist, Emily, and she told me that they schedule new clients for a longer appt. Also, the person who had booked my appt (incidentally the owner) had made a note that I was nervous. Emily put me at ease and took her time cutting and styling my hair - I never once felt rushed, which is VERY important to me. She worked with me, listened to what I wanted, and gave me exactly what I asked for! She recommended what products would be best for my long, dry hair and didn't push any products, which I loved. I waited a little while to write the review just to see how my style held up after a few weeks. I love it just as much as I did the day I walked out of the salon. After using the Kerastase products (I used the moisturizing line and am excited to try their shine products next time), my hair feels as soft as in did in the salon and I can actually get my hair looking like Emily did at home! I went here for a haircut about a month ago after reading all the good reviews. I was happy with where I already went to get my haircut, but I thought Id check Keith Kristofer out. The stylist was cool, thats about the only pro I can think of. I didnt get what I asked for. A part of my bangs was about two inches longer than the rest. Id compare it to the greatclips cuts I used to get when I was 12. I paid $45 for a $10 cut. Im sure guys have gotten great cuts here, I just wasnt so lucky. I went in to have my hair colored a shade darker (medium brown) with subtle highlights for a friend's wedding party the next day. I asked for subtle highlights, and not anything drastic. The highlights were foiled first and left on the entire time. The results were truly disappointing as I looked like I had thick blocks of orange/yellow streaks through my hair, and even older with the highlights by my ears resembling white hair. The main color looked lighter than what I had walked in with because of the highlights. I was so embarrassed with the pictures, and to this day cannot look at them. I went back the following week to have it fixed, and the 2nd application of the darker color hid some of the hideous highlights but not for long. I had to go to another salon within the same month, and they did their best to correct the issue without damaging my hair. I will never go back to Keith Kristoffer's. I have had my eyebrows waxed and tinted everywhere from Los Angeles to New York to Dallas to London, and trust me when I say no one in any of those cities can compare to Amber at Keith Kristofer Salon. She spends a great deal of time analyzing your skin, hair and the shape of your face before deciding what eyebrow color and shape is right for you. I'm a redhead, so mixing the perfect color combination for my skin and hair can be difficult, but Amber gets it right everytime. Unfortunately, I live in New York, which makes it impossible to see Amber each time I need a touch up. I was recently reminded how amazing she is when I went to have my eyebrows done at Warren Tricomi in the Plaza in New York, and it was a disaster. Even the most upscale salons can't compete with Amber. If you live in Austin, definitely go see her!! more

Another year has passed that I've been with Keith Kristofer Salon & Spa, so thought it was time to update my review. I love them all, still, and even more than I did a year ago. Even thought KK is an higher-end salon, everyone is so fun and down-to-earth. I always feel comfortable & welcome there. There's no snooty attitude, even though these folks are tops at what they do. Here are the individual props: Carrie, my colorist (that's right, she's mine, all mine!! But I'll share her...) is amazing. My color has never been so right on target before (and I've had really good colorists before). Carrie is such a sweetheart, I adore her and really enjoy the time I spend with her. I could hang out with Carrie all day. Did I mention how great her head massages are? Amber does my brows & lashes. I don't know how to describe the incredible before and after with Amber. I walk into the salon at the end of summer (I'm really bad about getting my locks & lashes done over summer) looking like a worn-out, used up, trampled on Mom and leave feeling pretty and younger. She truly is THE brow designer and, lucky us, she's in Austin. I had a facial with Amber at the beginning of summer and it was so luxurious and I was glowing for the next several weeks--my skin was radiant! Warning about Amber, though, you'll laugh your tush off with her--she's so funny! Larin gives the best Victoria Secret haircuts--it's the highest compliment I can give a hair cut. I wake up every morning with beautiful hair and hardly ever have to do anything to it. I can even go months between cuts (which I try not to do, just for healthy hair), and the cut looks great. Seriously, that is the true test of a great haircut. Larin's very fun to talk with--she's bubbly & cute. I met Adrian for the first time today, for a conditioning treatment, shampoo, blow-dry & style. Love her! She is so easy to talk with, laid-back and interesting. The hairstyle turned out so silky & sexy--great job! Jacqueline is a doll! I don't see her nearly enough, but she always makes me laugh and does a phenomenal job on my hands & feet. She's great at helping me find good colors to go with my skin tone, too. Autumn, Jesse & Maddie always start my day right, when I walk in the door. Maddie is about the cutest thing I've ever seen, she is so pretty! Jesse's beautiful eyes I could stare into for hours, well, when he's not making me laugh. Riot!! And darling Autumn, where to begin? She has the sweetest, purest heart--I just love her! I always love to see what her latest look will be--she's such a beauty and does such fun things with her hair. KK is the best salon I've ever gone to, not just in services, but also in people. I've been with them for two years and plan to stay with them forever. This was my first time at this salon. I was comfortable there, everyone is very nice, and the salon is beautiful. Here is the really, really important stuff: I went to Kris, my hair was a mess, it was the wrong color and I had quite a bit of growth. So I needed her to correct the color, and blend it into my natural mostly white with brown hair outgrowth. What surprised me is that she knows what color is best for my skin tone, she actually studied that! In the past years, I have asked stylists at other salons what color would be best for my skin tone, and none of them knew, they just said pick a color you like. Kris did a perfect job, my hair looks fabulous! It looks 100% better, Kris performed magic, I really didn't think it could turn out this well. It makes my skin look better and I think I even look a little younger:) Thank you Kris! Also, her assistant, Jessica? I think that's her name, I am so sorry, I can remember for sure. But her assistant is a doll, and I can honestly say I have never had such a relaxing shampoo. I know this sounds silly, but even when she dried my hair with the towel, it was relaxing! I want to go back in between hair color appointments just for her to wash and style my hair! They really care about how you look at this salon, they listen, and treat you like you matter. I have Asian hair, and this causes me lot of problems when it comes to haircuts. I've gone to lots of cheap places where they do a terrible job, barber shops that do an okay job but not good enough for me to come back, as well as some nice salons here in Austin that cater to women, NOT men. Keith Kristofer Salon is the best place I've EVER been to. Most of my life when I get a haircut, I'm not completely satisfied. This is the FIRST time I left with smile on my face. I really had a good experience. My stylist was Larin. She listened to what I was looking for and spent a lot of time with me. My haircut was about 1.5 hours because she took her time to provide me with a quality cut as well as to understand the frustations I've had with my hair. She washed my hair at the beginning AND the end so I didn't have to rush home to take a shower. Another great thing is that she helped me to better understand the way my hair grows so that I can style it in a way that makes me look my best - how many stylists really do this? She told me to wash my hair every couple of days so I wouldn't dry out my scalp. And she made me a shopping list of products that best suit my hair.
