Kaplan Test Preparation

Do not go here, a huge rip off, I wish I would have seen these reviews, they canceled the class three days before it was to start and then said they had no other SAT prep courses, they wanted us to drive to San Antonio, can you believe this, in a city like Austin, no other classes, they tried to switch us to an online class at the last minute for the same cost, they won't even answer the phone when you try to call, TOTAL SCAM!!!\r What a JOKE, DO NOT GO HERE!!\r \r Ask me how I really feel. more

Kaplan Test Prep is GREAT. The courses are taught by intelligent, caring, highly-trained instructors who have been through the graduate admissions process themselves, and know how to beat the system. They care about your success just as much as you do! The Kaplan Center off Guadalupe St is great and really convenient for UT students. No other test prep company will give you as much preparation, study materials and one-on-one time with instructors. \r \r Definitely recommend! Wow, the new location is awesome! I love the computer lab and location that is close to UT. The people are very friendly and my score has already gone up 20 points on my LSAT! I'd tell anyone to go here for help. My teacher is great! more

After taking Kaplan courses and being an employee at the Austin Kaplan center, I can tell you it was a HUGE mistake!!! I would never wish this upon anyone. The course instructors and content may be decent. BUT, the Management (megan) and the company as a whole will do anything they can to take your money. They are bad people that ABSOLUTELY DO NOT have the students best interest in mind. They make false claims about their courses and their costs to get you to enroll, tell you that they will give you your money back - but then will not practice what they preach. I was probably one of the most unfortunate customer there. I registered for the private tutoring and a in class course which was over $2,000.00. The three tutors that they assigned to me either came late and left early or wanted to tutor me via email because they lived far from Austin. When I called the manager to set me up with another tutor, I had to call her three times for her to call me back. I was unhappy and it was close to my exam date so I asked them if they can reimburse me for the unused private tutor hours and they transferred me to a few people and one person called me back after a few weeks. She promised to help me with the partial refund and little that I know a few weeks later, she moved to Houston. When I called the center about it, they had the girl who moved to Houston call me back and said I was going to receive the fund. I addressed the concern that I do not know which credit card I used to pay for it and it was my dad's since I couldn't afford the $2,000.00 prep fee at the time. She told me that she did not know which credit card I paid with but I will receive the fund back into the credit card that I used and if the card is discontinued, the credit card company would send the fund directly to my mailing address. I rested assure and thought I was going to receive the fund. I did not check back with them shortly after that because I thought I paid with the credit card that has been discontinued and it's going to take them much longer time to get the partial refund to me. I never got the partial refund and when I called Kaplan, the new manager told me that my record indicated that no partial refund was ever issued! They're not willing to track who worked there the time I registered and Kaplan?s number in Houston where she works at. This is my first and last experience with Kaplan; unethical! Kaplan is a great organization! The staff was very informative and helpful. The classes were priced very reasonably and the resources for the classes were great. The teachers really knew what they were teaching and seemed really excited to be teaching it to you. Everyone really knew their stuff and wanted you to succeed.
