Best food period! 2/18/2008

I have been going to this restaurant for 12 years and i would have to say that it is one of the best if not the best food in the city. \r I wasn't surprised to read reviews that stated the restaurant owner was unfriendly and stingy. In the past i myself have experienced his unfriendly manner, and i witnessed his stinginess while he -himself dished up the ""take out buffet"". (3 item)\r So with that being said, i would rather go to the kwok and have great food and questionable service then go somewhere that has poor food and great service.\r The fried rice is to die for! Order it spicy, its much better that way. And the Vietnamese egg rolls with fish sauce is excellent! Pros: food Cons: service more

Stay far away! 11/9/2007

Stingy service from the unfriendly little owner is one thing, but getting sick from the food is another! The food from this place has made me sick THREE TIMES recently! I thought once was a fluke - hey, it happens to the best of 'em - but THREE TIMES??? I'm never going back. The service is bad, the owner is mean, and now I can't even stomach thinking about this place. There are MANY other restaurants of this type in the area that are a million times better with friendlier service and food that doesn't make you sick I would stay away from this place at all costs! Cons: bad food more

Can't stay away 10/11/2006

I've been going here off and on for six years, since the kid of the family that owns it watched Pokeman cartoons behind the register. I suppose since I'm a regular I get better service, but I keep coming back because the food is good and cheap. Takeout is pretty fast, but it seems to take longer for dine in. I'm surprised another reviewer say the staff was unfriendly - I've never experienced this, though I have seen lots of shady people give him a hard time and he's always watching what goes on. They've always been great to me.\r \r I always get VE16 or VE17. I should branch out, but they're just too damn good! Pros: Cheap, good vegetarian options Cons: Busy at lunch more

Very unkind and stingy service! 11/3/2005

Because of the short distance from the U, I have used this restaurant several times. Although food is relatively good, service is very poor! The server (I don't know, he may be the owner of the restaurant) is very stingy and unkind. He is only interested in making money and how much we place tip. Given that he is making money from customers like us, he should learn how to serve them. Today I have a very bad experience there, and it is not the first time. I am not going to use this restaurant again. more

Mmmm.... M7! 11/14/2003

While the decor doesn't stand out, this family run restaurant serves up Chinese, Vietnemese and really tasty Malaysian food. I have a hard time ordering anything other than M7, a chicken AND tofu yellow curry dish with plenty of vegetables. But the beef rendang is great too (M10). The Vietnemese iced coffee is strong and tall at K Wok, with plenty of sweetened condensed milk. For those of you drawn in by the inexpensive buffet think twice! The Malaysian dishes are so much more tasty and they are easily big enough to take left overs home. Service isn't always fast, but is never unbearably slow. Parking can sometimes be an issue during lunch but they do validate, at least partially, for the lot next door and street parking is often available within a block or two. But the owners are very welcoming and cheerful. A great restaurant! Pros: Taste, Price, Variety Cons: Decor more

Cheap and Tasty 7/23/2003

Their buffet is very good if you get it. It's cheap and plus you can get milk, tea, or water for free when you eat the buffet. Their menu is pretty cheap and food is tasty. Pros: Inexpensive more

Good food! 9/28/2002

I come here for the few Malaysian dishes that they offer. I highly recommend the Curry Laksa and Cha kuay Teow! We ordered a glass of soy bean milk and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was freshly made. I'll be sure to go back there again. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Malaysian Food Cons: Slow more

Thank you K Wok! 9/1/2002

I am a native Malaysian and I had always crave for Malaysian dishes. The Malaysian food at K Wok.. wow.. is even better than most of the restaurant in Malaysia. Only a few dishes that are not authentic, but most of them are. The food is a little slow to come out but you can definately see the extra effort in cooking the dishes, which I hardly found in a chinese restaurant around mpls area. Even the lunch buffet is great, occasionally they will serve a few Malaysian dishes in the buffet and is one of the cheapest buffet around. Pros: Food, Authenticity, Price Cons: Service a little slow more
