Great food and service 5/27/2010

I love this place. The wait staff is always very nice and attentive. The food was very good as well. The prices are a little high, but for the quality of the food and service it is worth it. If I have to complain about something, it would be the noise. It can get a bit noisy in the restaurant from time to time especially when the waiters are singing. But this only lasts a few minutes and it is sometimes fun to watch. I will continue to come back here as it is my favorite sea food restaurant in Austin. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Noise more

Good food, bad taste 10/17/2006

My wife and I went to Chuy's but the wait was too long and we ended up across the parking lot at Joe's. There's a very impressive shark (""Seavo"") hanging from the ceiling, complete with Texas longhorns. It's a similar casual feel to Chuy's. My wife ordered a crab cake sandwich and I ordered the crawfish etouffe. Both were very good, though not too filling. We saw someone's crab dip and ordered that, as well. I found the t-shirts a bit family un-friendly and tacky. Among the more memorable were ones that said ""Bite Me!"" and another with a word that Citysearch won't let me type into this review (It's slang for a male reproductive organ.) It's a shame you have to be assaulted with sexual double-entendres at what's supposed to be a family restaurant. The ""happy birthday"" singing was a little obnoxious, but our young waiter was very good, so no complaints there. Pros: Tastes great Cons: Less filling more

Great for family 7/9/2003

I love going her because we can sit outside and the kids can play. It's like going on a date when we can't get a babysitter. We order for the kids and they come when they are ready to eat or we take it with us. If you are look ing for a place the kids will love and you can be with your spouse simi alone this is the place to go. Pros: Outside sitting, Play area for kids, friendly people Cons: can be crowded, parking is limited, can be loud inside more

don't patronize this joint... 6/12/2003

The food isn't good AND pricey. The staff is composed of bored teenagers. The ambience is very plastic and busy, like an annoying MTV explosion. The worst feature of this pathetic establishment is that every 15 minutes or so, a colored disco ball gets lit up and the waiters do a ridiculous hip-hop dance - and they're not even into it at all - it was painful watching. The owner must be sadistic. Also, the restaurant is plastered with anti-war propaganda - which all of the staff are forced to wear. I will never step foot in there again. more
