Had an awesome time working with these helpful gentlemen today. Called to see if they had some punch stink bait, like Danny Kings. They did not, however they did order some Don s Catfish Bait, which I hear is supposed to be better than DK. Glad they were so eager to make this bait accessible to me, since I had to drive all the way to Decker Lake from Round Rock to get the quart I purchased. They will now be selling Don s Catfish Bait right around the corner from me!!! LOVE U GUYS! :D more

Unbelieveable! HorribIe experience! I went into this shop at lunch time on Friday to get the tip of my rod replaced. They said I could come back in a bit. When I came back, all of the folks that had been there before were gone, and the one man present had no idea what I was talking about. Then I saw my pole, and when the guy handed it to me, not only was it not fixed, they HAD BROKEN IT!!!! Then he told me that they could not put a new tip on, because the pole was broken. What kind of a rod/reel repair shop cannot make a simple rod-tip-replacement repair without breaking the pole?!?!?! The there was the complete lack of concern about my property. I cannot even believe that I was treated this way. No Apology. No offer to make it right. He actually told me I could buy a repair kit at Academy and fix it myself. I will NEVER consider doing business with these people again. more

Just came out this store, horrible experience! I did shopping here before for a couple of times, thought thery were OK. Last Sat 4/3rd, I bought a bait casting net here based on their suggestion to replace my old one, and next day I found out the net had design issue and could not be used for nearby target. So I went back to ask if I could exchange one or use as credit to buy something more expensive. The guy over here with a orange T-shirt, who claims he is the manager but wouldn't give me the name, first thing he said was there is no return if the net is opened (I did not ask for return or refund), then says only thing to he can do is to give me some discount for another net or item. I told him this net is useless to me so I have no intesion to keep it, instead, I would like to have some credit to exchange. He said they did not want it either because he did not think they could sell it, instead he suggested that I could buy another with discount which he claims that he would lose 9$ by offer the discount, and suggested I to sell the net to somebody else! (how smart, they don't think they can sell it but suggest me to sell it). By offering this discount, he thinks it is the best for both of us! - Smart guy: so by taking this deal, they end up with $10 profit ($19 profit for the first net sale and might be lose $9 for the discount), and the customer (stupid me) ends with a useless net which I paid $54 total. I refused it and said that they could have the net I paid for it if there is no exchange or credit. When another customer coming by, he said something that ""how can we take something you used for 2 months"" - come on, I told you the first thing that I bought it last Sat. When I tried to continue our discussion, he then said ""please, we don't want to argue in front of our customers"" - come on, I was one of your customers too!!! It made me look so bad and I did not want to stay so I left.... Jenson, you keep your $19 profit but I believe you will lose much more with such a bad attitude toward your customer!!! more

If you need fishing tackle or fishing advice, forget about academy, at Jensons (ace), the employees actually know what they are talking about, not just some kid from the footwear department. Lots of locally made lures, flies, plastics. more
