I've read the previous reviews and I have to write about my experience at Red's. I went there expecting a rude posse of Bubbas after reading the previous reviews here. Reds is a true Austin 'joint' - the type that is disappearing here. It reminds me a bit of Capital Saddlery, if you've been there. Some of the guys there are Bubba, to be sure. But I found them very helpful and we had a good round of shooting. I got into a good conversation with one of the staff about the shelf life of bullets. He pulled me aside and showed me all kinds of bullets from years ago, some that he had shot himself. He even offered to give me an antique bullet. So I'd actually recommend Red's. The indoor range is a little hot, but hey, its July in Texas. Pros: Run by Bubbas

The best thing about this park is the location. It's a VERY short drive from town, yet feels very removed from the city. The falls are lovely, if you see them at the right time of year. Be careful on holiday weekends because the campsites tend to fill up quick. And once they are crowded, you tend to lose a lot of the camping feel. I like to take a day or two off and go during the week. Bring your bike or a good pair of shoes for the trail. The scenery here is beautiful.
