I bought a reclining sectional sofa and started experiencing issues within a month. I spoke with the store manager where I bought it and he was a strong advocate for me. I eventually talked with Jasmine in customer loyalty and my problems were resolved to my satisfaction. Customer loyalty and their team is going the extra mile to make sure customers are satisfied. I ordered a desk from roomplace website and it was delivered quite late and there were a bunch of broken and damaged pieces inside. Also, there was nowhere on the website that mentioned that I had to assemble this unit myself and therefore need to return it for a full refund. I tried calling several times and was put on hold, so many times. Since The Roomplace has been uncooroperative and unresponsive to my request. I have placed a claim with the Better Business Bureau in effort to resolve this matter and retrieve my money. It is a shame it has come to this and I will do everything in my power to let the world know how terrible a company Harlem Furniture and Roomplace has been with some of the worst customer service ever experienced. I know this email will most likely be ignored and it is too bad as I used to be a good customer of Harlem Furniture and still have some pieces that I enjoy. I find it hard to believe that this company chooses to do business this way. Not even a simple reply to my unread emails. more

I purchased two quality bedroom sets,which I am very pleased.The upkeep is very easy.I have had one for a little over three years, and the other over six years. I am looking forward to purchasing a motion sofa and love seat very soon. S.C.J. more

I purchased over $6,000 worth of garbage from the store in the Niles area, along with the useless protection plan. When the bedroom set was delivered, the door on the nightstand fell off within 5 minutes of the delivery. I called for repair, and they sent out a men who GLUED the door shut. The door in the dresser came off of hinges and the weight of the door bent the hinge. They wouldn't cover it because they said we must have been swinging on the door. This was an adult master bedroom set, not a childs. The bedframe also split from the hedboard, so I had to buy a new frame, and lean the headboard against the wall. For this quality, I could have saved quite a bit of money had I gone to Wal-Mart or the Salvation Army. Horrid, horrid place. more

This place is the worst. I purchased a mattress for $650 and I was uncomfortable. I couldn't exchange because it need to have a certain deep of discomfort. They send 4 different tech guys to measure it, took pictures and at the end. I'm still stuck with this expensive, uncomfortable mattress. I won't buy anything from this store. BAD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. more

I have bought bedroom furniture. Spent a lot for the quality. The paint chips off and when you buy the protection plan, they send someone out to look at it and tell you 14 business days later, that they decided not to cover their crappy furniture under the protection, you paid extra for. Then bought a dining table, they had to send 3 because each one that arrived was chipped. Then gave them one last try with a mattress and box spring, the mattress started to sink in the middle! THey said they wouldn't cover it because their was a small stain on the mattress. How does a stain and the fact that the thing is sinking in the middle have to do with each other???? DO NOT SHOP HERE, spend a little bit more money somewhere else like Macy's and dont pay extra for having to buy another bedroom set and new mattress..this stuff is going in the garbage! I hope thier CEO is seeing these reviews and is doing something to change this company, they dont realize customers have choices to do their business somewhere else. more

hate this place and the people working their . a bunch of thieves ... with no ethics .. rude ... liars ... all they know is how to overcharge ... no service ... no respect for the customer ....product is shitty as well .... i've had the worst exp in all my life ... have been battling a refund for over a year and still on which even small stores do it in 5 mins ....they are a bunch of lazy ass liars more

I recently purchased a kitchen set from the Room Place (Harlem Furniture). I paid extra money for a protection plan on the wood because I have two small children. Not surprisingly I have had to file a claim due to my child scratching the table. The problem is that the warranty department gives you the run around--I originally filed my claim two months ago and I am still waiting for them to make repairs. It is as though they keep delaying in hopes that I will give up!! Don't waste $ on a protection plan!!! more

12 months no interest...what a joke...they forget to tell you that on the 13th month your bill is automatically tacked on the interest that has over the past year...you've got to be kidding me! Also their was a $96.00 charge that was added on since I initialed where they told me to and that signed me up for insurance in case I ever lost my job.So now my balance due of $800.00 has just turned into $1,127.00. I am so mad right now. I have had a problem with this place since day one. The sales person was misleading in every way he possibly could have been. During the first month we had our table I found a red stain on it. I wasn't sure what it was. When I called to ask them to come out and look at the stain they said since I didn't know what it was and therefore it wasn't covered by the warranty. Oh my......so then when I told them I thought it could be wine... they informed me that they had me "recorded" stating I sure what the stain was. Did I mention that the sales person at the store told me my table could burn down and it would be replaced. I really hate this place. I would never recommend this place to anyone. more

Harlem furniture is a decent place to shop for furniture. They have standard and sturdy furniture here that is affordable and usually lasts a decent amoutn of time. I would be careful of the sales people here though. Some of them are slick sales people and can push you into buying something. But take your time and browse around. Watch out for sales too, because you can usually save a couple of hundred dollars with those. It is a good place to try out if you want to get durable furniture at a good price. more

I purchased my son a complete bedroom set from them as well as living room furnature... i feel what i paid for the furnature was over priced as there stuff looks nice but is poor quality...it's junk..i did'nt even have the furnature 2 years and the dresser drawers on my son's furnature started falling off,as i did'nt notice at the time but everything was stapled & glued together,also the backing on his desk started to pop loose as that is just stapled on also...when i moved from my apartment,i ended up just throwing out his furnature as it was junk and not made well...do not recommend them at all.... more

I recently bought my home furniture from here and was really impressed with the selection they had. They had some really modern styles for the home and at really great prices. They also offered me a great protection plan that fully covers my furniture for five years. I think thats a great deal on furniture that not only looks good in my home but is sure to last for a while! more
