Best

Local, great prices, open very late, fresh ingredients, vegetarian friendly, and absolutely delicious.

Their claim is that they deliver ""pretty much anywhere in the metro area"" after midnight. I live only across the river in NW - certainly within that range, right? Well, when the...

Like their delivery times, don't like their pizza! 5/9/2011

With our shedule we often eat late, this being Portland it is almost impossible to get pizza after 10PM even on weekends. Our only option is Hammy's, unfortunately every time we've tried them, the pizza is just no good. Limp and tasteless. Disappointed too many times, will never get Hammy's again. more

Urine 4/29/2011

Every bite of Hammy's pizza tastes like someone has peed in my mouth, not to mention the diahrea. more

Too thin, limp crust and bland sauce 3/28/2010

This was the first time I had ever tried Hammy's. It took over an hour which I can understand, I'm sure they're busy when the bars start closing. But the crust was so paper-thin, soggy and limp pieces fell apart when trying to pick them up. And it was NOT because it was loaded with toppings. FAIL! Sauce was bland, and the pizza was too expensive for what you get. Really lame and just slightly better than nothing at all. The plus side is late delivery, but next time I'll just go up the road to Safeway, which is open 24 hours, and buy a frozen pizza with a self-rising crust. It would have tasted better and the pieces wouldn't have fallen apart. Would have saved some $$ as well, but now I know they're charging only for the convenience, not because the pizza is worth it. Pros: Delivery after 1 a.m. Cons: Bad pizza more

Talk about wings 2/18/2010

Wings are the biggest and tastiest I've ever had. Pizza has a lot of flavor and they deliver super late. This place is the mega jam! Pros: Wings are mamouth Cons: price more

Fast, Fresh, Local, Delivered to your Door 9/11/2009

It is probably among the best pies in the city. Great crust, wonderful veggie topping selections, delivery is fast and I'm always satisfied. Being from NY, its good to know Hammy's is just a phone call away. Pros: Great Pizza! Cons: Expensive more

Delivered to your door until 4am...How do you beat that? 5/7/2009

I think Portland greatly lacks in the late night food department in general, especially in the form of delivered to your drunk self. Their pizza could definitely be cooked longer, (it's sad pizza that sags, happy pizza would stay nice and straight when picked up) but their calzones are great. And they're until open after the bartenders get home! Pros: Delivery until 4am Cons: pizza needs to be cooked more more

Awesome 4/10/2009

This pizza is the best. And it's even better when you're drunk. Also there's a really hot delivery boy who's small with blonde hair. I've had to hold myself back from asking him into m house. Watch out, good pizza-hot delivery boy. more

OVERPRICED AND NOW NO SLICES TO GO 2/14/2009

Can you believe it!!!!!!!! As if we needed another reason not to buy 20 dollar pizzas, Hammy's has gone and stopped serving slices. What local pizza joint doesn't serve slices???! I think it is out of control. Hammy's pizza is rarely worth the price and what a delivery charge! Hammy's is a disappointment and should be punished with less service until they figure out how to treat the local customer and passing drunkard. BOO! Pros: Close, open late Cons: soggy, overpriced, no slices more

yummy delicious LOVE 1/28/2009

So... after consuming a bottle of wine, we decide we want pizza at 12 am. To our surprise nasty yuck Domino's does NOT deliver...so we simply google PDX late night pizza and low and behold the L-O-V-E that is Hammy's!! The dude who took our order was super cool and in 34 minutes out hot slices of delicious love arrived at our doorstep and we could not be more delighted!! Hammy's has the official entry as 4 Am Awesome Pizza in my cell contacts now! LOVE you guys! Pros: fast yummy local pizza Cons: about 5 bucks overpriced more

Maybe the best food still available after 2am in SE, but pizza quality varies more than you could imagine 1/21/2009

Sometimes it's great, a thin soft crust with a great topping selection and delicious calzones. And sometimes it doesn't matter how nice you are or how well you tipped before because someone else is working and your pizza will be a source of despair, as soggy as your tears and as enjoyable a form of sustenance as an uncooked can of beans. I've gotten an uncut pizza, I've had friends say they were actually made fun of by the staff, and I've gotten the wrong pizza. Still, I come back because they deliver when I'm too drunk to drive, and maybe they're getting their act together since lately they've been perfect. But for how long? Pros: delivery till 4, sometimes it's really good Cons: walkup closes at 2, quality is outstandingly inconsitent, no slices, service with an annoyed smirk more

Great pizza, a new fave 1/7/2009

My hubby and I have had Hammy's pizza twice now after it was recommended by a friend. We've loved it both times. We live in the area, so in both cases we picked it up and it was ready when he arrived. So we haven't experienced the delivery issues that other reviewers mentioned. We absolutely loved the pizza - it was real NY style pizza, not fancy pizza. We've had a cheese & jalapeno pizza twice and it's simple and good. The crust is thin, NY style, the way we like it. I also had the super veggie pizza and it was awesome. I loved that it had a ton of roasted garlic, way more than any other pizza I've had. It had as much roasted garlic as pizza I make at home. The super veggie crust was a little soggy under all the toppings, but it was still delicious. We found the price reasonable too. We'll keep coming back (and keep picking it up). more

awesome pizza, super hours! 11/20/2008

i love hammys. i love the choices they offer, so everyone in my family can eat there. everything tastes really good, and i've never had a problem with not enough toppings. the people who work there are always really nice to us, as well. \r \r i think it speaks volumes that the people who left the bad review were drunk. :/ Pros: great hours, vegan options, delivery anywhere after midnight !! Cons: i wish they delivered to NE before midnight. :) more

Never again. 10/20/2008

My friend and I were really excited when we found a pizza place that made late night delivery. We called and ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and breadsticks around 2:00am. Needless to say- the delivery took so long we both ended up falling asleep. Around 4:00am I woke up to the door buzzing and found 3 voicemails on my phone from ""Patricia"" at Hammy's. I woke up my friend who was hardly coherent and she wanted to just bag the whole thing since it took so long. But since the delivery girl was at the front door I felt bad. ""Patricia"" was surprisingly nice considering the hour. The order ended up being like $28 (about $27 too many.) The pizza was lukewarm, greasy, and hardly had any flavor at all. The breadsticks weren't even baked all the way! My friend took a bite of a ""breadstick"" and basically got a mouth full of pizza dough. The fact that we were both intoxicated, half-asleep, and starving speaks volumes to the quality of this place. Hammy's claims they use ""fresh, organic ingredient"", HA! Next time I'm going to Taco Bell. Pros: Late night delivery Cons: Slow service, horrible food, over-priced more

Very Good 8/24/2008

I am really picky when it comes to pizza and the first time I tried these guys I wasn't impressed but I tried it again last night around 2am. It's very cool they deliver til 4am for those night owls/night shifters like myself. I ordered extra cheese and it was perfect. The first time I didn't and there was cheese just a very small amount. The last two times I haven't been dissapointed and I think their prices are good considering the late hours they deliver and they use only organic ingredients. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!! Try it it's really yummy!!!!!! more

Where's the customer service? 1/10/2008

Their claim is that they deliver ""pretty much anywhere in the metro area"" after midnight. I live only across the river in NW - certainly within that range, right? Well, when the entire conversation consisted of the girl on the other end saying simply, ""We don't deliver there,"" and hanging up on me, I guess I learned. It's all of 3 or 4 miles, there's no traffic, and IT'S YOUR STATED POLICY.\r \r One star would've been unfair, I suppose, since I haven't actually tried their product; with customer ""service"" like that, though, I never will. There are too many other places in this fair city to get great pizza - why should anyone put up with bitchy service? more

Great neighborhood pizza place 10/21/2007

My husband and I have ordered several times from Hammy's. The pizza always seems extra fresh, and the ingredients are very creative. ""Matt's Pie"" is the perfect balance between sweet (pineapple), savory (pepperoni) and spicy (jalapeno). Perfect for those late night cravings. Pros: great fresh pizza Cons: only take-out, delivery and outdoor seating more

This pizza is ca ca 9/29/2007

I've given Hammy's 2 chances to make me an edible pizza and they failed both times. Although the service was friendly and reasonable (waiting time-wise), the pizza is crappy. How can you make tomato sauce taste like it's red water? Both pizzas I had delivered were flavorless and not cooked enough. Only Hammy's has served me the worst pizza Portland has to offer, and that includes Dial-A-Pizza. Why is the cheese on your pizza as white as my socks? Shouldn't it be adequately cooked?\r I hate Hammy's pizza and all of their stupid stars. I'd rather drive downtown and wait forever for an Escape From NY Pizza. \r F U Hammy's. Pros: zero Cons: expensive, crappy pizza, stupid logo more

Terrible customer service and cold pizza delivery 9/10/2007

The customer service was terrible!!! I ordered a pizza at 1 am. It took 1.5 hrs to deliver. They got my phone number wrong but the correct credit card number. When calling to inquire about my order i got respones like: ""I don't know what to say"", ""I don't know what to tell you"" etc. The delivery girl was especially rude. And to top it off the pizza was cold!!!\r Good luck. more
