Halcyon Days Salon & Spa @ The Bellevue

I moved to Philly only for the summer and heard Pierre & Carlo was a great place so I tried it. They are open later on most weekdays so I was able to walk there right after work. The location is very convienent - especially for public transportatin. I was on time for my appointment and they took me right away. I didn't even wait 2 minutes! My hairstylist, Sarah, was FANTASTIC. Not only was she talented, but friendly and really sweet. I felt right at home with the people who took care of me! We talked and laughed the whole time. Sarah blew out my naturally curly hair better than I've EVER seen it done and didn't even have to use a hot iron. My fiance is coming to visit this weekend and now I look like a ROCKSTAR and can't wait to go out on the town with him. I'm so glad I chose to go to Pierre & Carlo and would definitely go there again. But only to see Sarah. And the man who washed my hair. He was the best - I wish I had caught his name! NOTE: The little blonde chick who helped me out when I went to pay at the front desk was pretty rude and cold. I don't know her name or why she was so snotty but I think she is the type of person who has caused some of these negative reviews. The other girl at the front desk, who told me she is new at the job, was very friendly and helpful. So maybe management is getting rid of the rude personnel. I hope so. I read that a particular person here was the best in the city for Brazilian waxes...well her attitude is terrible. I had to go here twice before I could even get an appointment with her b/c she was always booked up. Well, the day of my much anticipated appointment, I got stuck in traffic and was running late. I called and told them I'd be about 10 mins late and they said, "no problem". Moments later I received a call from a man who identified himself as the "salon manager" and he was calling to reschedule my appointment because I was late! I explained that I had called and was told it was ok and after arguing with me he hung up in a huff. I ran into the salon very apologetic but she was very scruff and unprofessional. She didn't introduce herself and went on and on about how her entire day was screwed up b/c I was late. She talked about it so much that as I was undressing that I asked her if she'd just prefer me to reschedule. She said 'not now, but I certainly don't have time for a brazilian". She rushed through my appointment, gave me a crappy bikini wax instead of a brazilian as I had requested, and I was out of there by 10:35. To top it all off, on my way out, she got in a very loud argument with the manager at the counter b/c he gave her next client to someone else thinking that she wasn't going to be finished in time. As if they hadn't beat it into my head enough, they continued to argue about it while my transaction was running through the credit card machine. It was the most horrific and unprofessional salon experience I have ever endured and it's ironic that the other 2 times I was there 15 mins early and didn't get seen until 20 mins late! I will NEVER go back here. I shell out way too much money for this kind of stuff to be treated like that and I won't tolerate it. Cons: service, parking more

I had gotten a few bad haircuts recently and for a Valentine's Day gift, my girlfriend took me here. I wanted a different style, but not quite sure what. After my wash, my stylist Kim asked what I wanted. I told her about my past bad experiences and said 'that is where you come in' (referring to how to style my hair). Kim verbalized everything I was thinking, made me totally relaxed. She pulled out a magazine and showed me a picture of David Beckham. Me? I thought sure, make me look like that. Then she mentioned Brad Pitt. I was very pleased by the entire process. The only drawback was I could not take Kim with me to style my hair every day. And next time I am going to let Kim touch up my eyebrows as she suggested. more

I love this place had a wonderful facial with Alexis she has a great deal of knowledge about skin and treatment .I have been to alot of SPAS and none of the people there where as GREAT as she .YES I AM going back to try that 2 hour facial she does Cons: high parking price more

I found this salon last winter and I don't go anywhere else when in Philla. I especially like their massages. I work out a lot and this place soothes my postworkout pain or just helps me relax. C.J. and Nina are both wonderful! I also like Susan - facial. more

I got my hair cut and blow-dried by stylist Lexi. She did a fantastic job. I got great service from the moment I walked in the door. I found my salon. more

This is what a spa is supposed to be like. After a horrid experience at another local spa two weeks ago we tried Pierre and Carlo and found this to be quite enjoyable. Although the Spa is a bit small it is run very well and the technicians are first rate. Pros: SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY more

Im from Chicago and this salon was recommended as one of the best in the city but I would NOT recommend it to anyone. They were extremely overbooked (running an hour behind), the stylists were rude, rushed and talking about all the clients who had left earlier. Put all of those issues aside they also did a poor job of simply blowing out my hair. Although the website says a blowdry starts at $35 a was charged $65 which seems high to me especially when I can do a better job myself. more

When I first went to Pierre and Carlo my first impression was that I was proud to be sitting in a salon like this. Not only did they take good care of my every need but the presentation was amazing. The place is clean, neat, and everyone looks professional. The woman that had done my hair was Sarah. She has a unique sense of color when it comes to hair. I let her make the decision on my hair color and that was one of the best choices I had made all day. I look into the mirror and love my hair more and more as I see all that she had done to it. I would definitely recommend Pierre and Carlo to anyone that is looking for a good hair cut to an awesome style; or looking for a touch up on color to a color you had no clue would like amazing on you. Pierre and Carlo is wonderful. Kim knows exactly what to do. She can look at your face and know what hair style and color will look great for you! It is a relaxing experience and I know i will come out looking fabulous thanks to Kim! more

I have been getting my eyebrows & bikini waxed for quite some time now and I have jumped from many many different places. However Pierre & Carlo offers the best waxing in the City! I will never go anywhere else. Pros: great waxing Cons: a little pricey more

Now this is what I wanted .This is a first class salon with class. If you're looking for a great atmosphere and great stylists here is the place to go. Their Spa is rather small but the therapists are first rate. Pros: great Salon and Spa more

Roy Fuller does fantastic coloring. Voted for best colorist in the October issue of Allure magazine, he does a fantastic job. He loves his job and it shows in his work. more

So far I've only gotten manicures and eyebrow waxes done at P&C but I am definitely looking into them for other services. The quality of work is always spectacular, the staff is friendly even for such an upscale place. It is a little pricey ($25 for a french manicure, $22 for eyebrows) but to me it's worth it for the atmosphere and expertise of the staff. Pros: Clean, Relaxing, well-trained staff Cons: a little pricey...that's it! more

At Pierre and Carlo they use an Italian Haircolor that is to die for. I have never recieved more compliments! Pros: Very impressed with the quality of my services more
