Beware of their "One Simple Price" Scam 8/3/2014

This morning, 8/2/14, I sent an inquiry through the Honda website for a 2014 Honda Odyssey. I received an email from the manager, Keith Keller, stating that the MSRP for the Honda Odyssey we drove was $42,710, and my "One Simple Price" was $36,798. My wife and I discussed the price and I went to Gunn Honda to purchase the vehicle. Since Gunn Honda does "says" they don't haggle and they always sell the vehicle of the same price and never deceive the public, I was confident. When I arrived, he had the numbers on the sales form for the Honda Odyssey listed at $39,500. I stated the email that the manager, Keith sent from Gunn Honda stated my “one Simple Price was $36,798. He left for about 5 minutes and returned with the manager, Keith Keller; and Keith stated that "they made a mistake" and they would be happy to sell me the vehicle at cost which was $38,500.00 and people make mistakes and he was sorry. Here we go, the ol' "we made a mistake, but we'll be happy to sell the car for cost" trick.?? Let's give them the benefit of doubt for one minute and just assume that there is a 0.00000001% chance that it could have been a mistake. Don't you think a reputable dealership would just stand by their written "One Simple Price" promise and just take care of their loyal returning customer? If Gunn had a good reputation and wanted to maintain it, they would just admit it was a mistake, honor the written price they game me, and reduce the price a mere $1,702.00 and take care of their loyal returning customer that lives in the neighborhood?? Of course a reputable company would, but Gunn did not. Beware of Gunn's One Simple Price, it's just a scam and a way of getting you into the dealership and wasting your time!! There is too much honorable, respectable, and reputable competition in San Antonio to waste your time with a Gunn Dealership. Gunn Spends millions of dollars a year advertising but they still haven't learned that word of mouth, honor, and reputation are the best forms of advertising. more

Service and care of customer 12/5/2011

We expierenced some minor problems with our Honda. The manager went out of his way to take care of the problem. I feel Gunn will do what ever they can to satisfy their customers. Our next vehicle will be purchased from Gunn. Thanks Gunn. more

Great service. 11/15/2011

I took my vehicle in for it's routine service. Steve, my service manager is always very helpful. He knows my vehicle and knows me very well The work is always done on time and within the estimate he gives me. I have owned several Hondas and I'm sure my next vehicle will be a Honda as well. more

Beware 8/12/2010

I purchased a car from Gunn Honda in May and have had two seperate fairly large issues with it. The first happened less than 10 days after I bought it, the power steering fluid completely drained due to a hole in it. The second left me stranded in Dallas after the transmission began slipping. While getting the transmission fixed I was told it looked as though the fluid had never been flushed (my car is a 2003), that I'd need a new oil pan, and that my coolant was leaking. Keep in mind, it has still not even been 90 days since I purchased it. Gunn's solution was for me to trade my car in and purchase another one from them! Absolutely not. more

Better Business Pratice 7/7/2010

For 15 years I have been looking for a blue Honda rather it was a Pilot, CR-V or Civic and finally I found one… 4 Honda’s later. On 20100706 my husband and I had our 2009 Diesel Duramax Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD serviced at Gunn Chevrolet the service was excellent. We thought that same service would be provided to us in sales… we were disappointed. Our sales person at Gunn Honda was reportedly an experienced salesperson who stated he only wanted what was best for his customers who were I and my husband at that time. We were serious about buying a blue Honda Pilot. We were up front and honest with our salesperson in what we wanted we didn’t want to waste his time or ours however it turned out 7 hours later we were walking out of Gunn Honda with no vehicle the finance department having all my personal information and being told that our salesperson will be off the next day and that our information will be passed to a sales manager that supposedly was the one that was going to call around looking for a blue 2011 Honda Pilot. We didn’t hear from anyone at Gunn Honda the next day until 1830 by the sales person who stated he would do all he could for us be mindful, this was his day off a little upset with my husband due to miss communication by the Gunn Honda staff informing the sales person that my husband called numerous times which was furthest from the truth. On 20100707 with a click of a button on the internet and after speaking with Mr. G. Martinez at Fernandez Honda within 6 hours we were walking out of Fernandez Honda with a Bali Blue Honda Pilot EX-L RES and a better deal Mr. G. Martinez was up front and honest with us and was working diligently to close the deal and get us out the door he wasn’t concerned about all his accolades nor the accolades of the dealership. I don’t just want to write a review and not provide a suggestion; to the Gunn Honda sales staff pay more attention to your customers if you have been selling cars for longer than 5 years you should be able to tell when a customer is ser more

Saved a bundle! 3/2/2010

After spending a few weeks narrowing down the exact car I wanted, right down to the specific features, I did a lot of research to find out what I could reasonbly expect to pay. I then took what I learned online and went to SIX dealers in the Austin area. I had financing in place and was ready to buy. Every one of them told me I was crazy, and the best they could do was about $1300 higher than my target price. So, I contacted Gunn Honda in San Antonio. They had the exact car I wanted, and their "no hassle" price was $300 better than what I was offering to pay the dealers in the Austin area. So, we went to Gunn. Frankly, I went armed for battle, because I was purely worn out from dealing with the Austin area Honda dealers. I expected a similar hassle from Gunn. However, within minutes, we were test driving the car we came to see. Since we were ready to close the deal, we sat down and started discussing options. Of course, the salesperson tried to sell us a bunch of accessories we didn't want, but he didn't seem bothered when I said "no thanks." Next came the "Finance Manager." Since we already had financing in place, I expected this to be a lot of arm twisting, but it didn't happen. He offered us some additional warranty coverage for the car (we ended up buying the Honda warranty), and wrapped up the deal. We got the paperwork taken care of while they prepped the car and off we went. Overall, my Gunn experience was so much easier than I expected. Of course, I was prepared for a battle that never came. I'm sure coming prepared knowing exactly what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay for it made it easier, but I'm still much happier that I drove the 2 hours to Gunn than dealing with any of these slick outfits up here in the Austin area who can't give you a straight answer about anything. This is my fourth Honda, and I'll definitely drive back to Gunn for the fifth, considering they saved me about $2000 overall on the purchase! more

Sold My Tires and Wheels 8/14/2009

I thought this was a good dealership. Gunn Honda is darn good at making you feel like you're getting a great deal. You can get an honest and better deal somewhere else. There One Price Is A JOKE if it is not honest! I bought a 2009 Accord EX-L 6cyl and added 18" wheels and tires and paid over $3,200.00 for them. I called the Parts Department and asked them how much where the original tires and wheels that came off the car they said they are $2,760.00. Total for all the accessories I bought came to over $4,800.00 in accessories alone. The original tires and wheels I did not get back that came off that car. They kept the original tires and wheels without telling me and I did not get any credit for them. I forgot to ask until a few days later. When I called them about this after I paid for them on the MSR Standard Equipment at no extra cost on the sticker price. The sales manger told me they sent the tires and wheels back to Honda and only got $1,000,00 for them. I lost $2,760.00 in tires and wheels. Are we sure they are not in the back room waiting to be resold that I paid for? I will spread the news about this place and reviews if this is not resolved. I should have done my homework before and after I left this dealership, Buyer Beware Unhappy Screwed Customer! more

Gunn Honda 8/9/2005

We bought a 2005 Honda Accord EX from Gunn Honda a couple months ago and it was a great experience. Everything went as expected if not better. There was no pressure from our salesperson whatsoever which we appreciated. We came in, told them what we want and got what we want. It was a very pleasant experience overall. Our salesperson was very helpful and friendly. She even called us a few times afterward to check on us and see how things are going with the new car. Very nice and professional! more
