I finally visited the new Good Life. I saw the sign "Under New Management", but I was not prepared for a completely different restaurant. The old restuarant was a dark, dank bar, with retro decor, greasy burgers, and great drinks. I loved it. It was the perfect place for a burger and a beer on a cold Boston day. True, it was a little sticky, but it had personality. Newer places pay decent money to achieve the look and feel of what the (old) Good Life had naturally. The new Good Life has white-washed walls, a young, hip waitstaff, and decent food, but half of the personality. I had a Greek Salad, which was very good and nice and light. My 3 friends also had salads, and we raved over them. But we will probably not go back. The art on the walls was not very good, the decor was boring and looked cheaply done, the crowd boring, and the waitstaff unenthusiastic. For the rare occassion that I have time to go out for lunch, it will not be there. I need something with more pizazz.
