If you ride English, like my family, then this store might have some of the tack you need, but be prepared. Pros: Bits, English Tack Cons: sloppy, chaotic, loud.

We're happy to have this store close by! They have both expensive brands and some not so expensive brands. The difference is obvious. Recently purchased a pair of breeches and thought they were expensive - checked on the web and found that the price was the same. Even if there is a small markup, we are happy to pay it to support a local store and keep it in business and here to support our needs (which are often very last-minute). more

Overpriced, Condescending, a Complete Disappointment 4/18/2010

I visited this store looking for a few general items. When I entered the store the girls seemed so nice. They were more interested in selling the most expensive things to me instead of what I needed. The so called manager helped me and was down right condescending. I finally found what I needed by myself. I looked at the the price and was astounded. For the barn I am in I needed to order a few custom things. So I paid a fortune and then they were two months late and they didn't come in time to leave for the horse show. Do you think they offered to ship it down oh no heaven forbid. Pros: Brands Cons: Price, Service, Knowledge, Did I say Price more

Gallops Saddlery is a very easy to find, well thought out equestrian store. Willing to go the extra mile for you in every aspect, including special orders. Polite and friendly in their service and Highly recommend them. Pros: Excellent service including special orders Cons: None that I can see at this time more

Quality English Tack Shop 5/18/2006

Although gallops has many brands of horse supplies to offer its customers, they almost always only offer the highest quality, and therefore, prices. I have found that the staff is almost always willing to help you out, and even though their prices can be 30% higher on some products than in a catalogue, possibly due to being almost the only exclusively English tack store in the Portland area, they will do whatever they can to get a product you desire. Pros: Quality Products, Parking, Staff Willingness Cons: Pricing, Limited Products more
