We were having a 70's party and we need costumes. I am a big man and I needed to find a store that had Plus Size Costumes. I tried finding Plus Size Costumes at Party City and Chicago Costumes and sure they had a few 2X Costumes and 3X Costumes but I need a 5X or Maybe even a 6X Plus Size Costume. A friend of Mine; Dave Rozek, referred me to one of his clients - Fantasy Costumes. I could have ordered a plus size costume from an on-line costume store but I want to try them on and see what they look like on me. I didn't want to buy something that Omar the Tent maker made and didn't look good on me at my party. My friend Ray at Gunaka Dental Supply was throwing a costume party but 35 of the folks attending needed costumes. Ray called me and I called George Garcia from Fantasy Costume. George said send them down to the store. 23 of the 35 guest made there way to Fantasy Costumes and found the costumes that they needed. There are actually lines down the block for folks to get in this specialty shop a few days a year. Gee I wonder when this could be; before Oct. 31st. This store was featured on the local news for this reason. It's a big store that also gets sales yearround because of all the jokers out there. They also get sales becuse of kids partys, gag gifts they sell, costume partys or entertainers in need of a costume. If you are a Cher impersonator you can buy your crazy wig here. They have a huge wig dept. and I don't want to know why they sell so many. Cool window murals also. more

Wow, this place is fab! Whether you want to dress up as a giant turkey, a monster or the current president (insert your own joke here)... then this is the place to be. They have so many cool costumes from which to choose (although prices are on the high side). You can also find fun novelty items including wigs, toys and even inflatable dolls .... if you are so inclined :) more

You can easily get overwhelmed here. There's like piles of costumes, props, wigs, decor and whatnot. I went here to find a costume for Halloween and was NOT disappointed. The staff is hilarious (when I was there a bunch of them were running around with vampire teeth) and very helpful. Even if you're not in the mood to buy something, it's a fun place to browse. more

The name is a little misleading: Fantasy Costumes is SO much more than just costumes, though they do have a huge array of buyable and rentable costume choices. Alongisde the year-round costumes are props, masks, wigs, and creepy decor. My favorite item are the professional fang caps for teeth - the vampire look, done the way they do it in Hollywood! Many of the costume items are professional, though they do still have the cheaper costume-in-a-bag choices, and the mask selection is incredible - everyone from Freddy Krueger to George Bush! It is THE place for Halloween, with loads of costume and decorating choices. During the Halloween season, their special back display is turned on - complete with life-size latex dummy thrashing around in an electric chair! Shop early to avoid the October rush! more

this store has everything that you need for Halloween. They have costumes, accesories, make up and even a haunted yard. They even sell Halloween decorations. The staff is very helpful, the selection is awesome. they are conveniently located, and the hours are great! this is the largest store in Chicago for Halloween costumes and accesories. more

Fantasy Headquarters is a costume store that has a great selection of costumes to choose from. They have everything you need to make your Halloween party or small production (play) a success. Even when it's not Halloween season, this is a fun store to browse in, especially if you have kids. Start your Halloween shopping early if you want to get some of the better items. more

I could not believe how big this store was when I first went there. If you are going to shop for a halloween or party costume at this store make sure you allow yourself at least 3 to 4 hours to look through their collection. You can either rent or buy at this store. Generally I buy the kids costumes and rent my own. The staff are very helpful in finding what you want. Their prices are very good. I haven't seen one costume yet that was too expensive to buy or rent. more

They have a huge selection to choose from & the people that work there also make alot of custom made costumes...i use to work there years ago,just during halloween time,there store is packed during halloween,but they have a huge selection of stuff to choose from,and you can rent or buy your costumes,or from their selection of items they have for sale you can piece together your own...They also have a make up artist there,that will do a great job in helping you create your character... more
