Best

This place is small and cozy and the seat that I had boasted the best view of the city. There was light jazzy music playing in the background which made you feel right at home. Th...

I went to the Everest with several friends to celebrite my birthday. The food was not bad, although for a restaurant of this level I expected much more. It does not compare with s...

deceiving 8/13/2003

Definitely not up to my expectations. I was cold all the evening long, and although they promised to bring me something, they didn't. Food was quite good but not worth the price. Atmosphere was boring. Pros: view,if U can get it!, quiet Cons: long, not value for money more

Inappropriate corporate event 4/27/2003

I am a corporate planner and we were very disappointed with Everest. We were hoping for a nice place to have our slide presentation, but the restaurant was very unaccomodating and basically told us if we didn't like what they provided, we could leave. Sadly, they were much nicer on the phone. Moreover, the restaurant was empty, so if they don't want future corporate business, it would be to their loss. more

What a disapointment! The food was absolutely average, the room dated, and the service below par. Everest has obviously not been re-evaluated by the AAA rating guide in a while and certainly does not deserve to be a member of Relais & Chateaux. If your looking for a faux fine dining experience paired nicely with a cold & unfriendly atmosphere, and finished with lackluster unimaginative cuisine, then I highly recommend it! Pros: view Cons: disinterested staff, overpriced, unimaginative more

SAD 7/14/2002

Everest has been our favorite restaurant ever since it opened, 16 years ago. Sadly, it no longer is. We arrived 10 minutes early. Understandably our table was not available. We were ushered into a drab, underfurnished room where we ordered drinks. After a reasonable wait we were shown to our table. Service was still quite good but of the food only the sauted fois gras was at the level we had expected. The lobster special, ordered by 3 people was overcooked and slightly mushy. My short rib was a little tough and without much taste. The chocolate dessert was undistinguished. I was the only wine drinker so ordered 2 glasses. The white was fine. A $14 glass of Chateau Neuf du Pape should have been poured more generously. All in all disappointng. Pros: parking, service Cons: see above more

waste 6/27/2002

Now I know why I am a bar and grill guy. little portions that look nice but that is where it end. Good view but go to the hancock and get something to eat elsewhere more

Beautiful view,Food is Just O.K. 6/2/2002

The view is beautiful. The art-deco decor is pleasant. The service is impeccable. The food is so-so. Do not order the halibut(very dry). The foie gras is good. As are the lobster dishes. Dessert was a flop. I would not go there again. I recommed Trio or Oceanique in Evanston. more
