Pete Giangrande, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, whether you're a beginning collector or advanced. He knows stories, histories and knows his minerals. He also has very fair prices and a wonderful selection. I've been buying major specimens from him for over ten years. more

The best of the best rock stores 7/4/2010

The owner is very knowledgable about geology, minerals, crystals, etc. The store is packed full of stones from "for kids" to the Smithsonian-level collectibles. Prices tend to be very reasonable (been there when dealers from other parts of the 5-state region come to buy to stock their own stores). Want a particular stone? The Enchanted Rock Garden can get one for you (if they don't already have one). Go there and come away with a geology lesson! You don't have to do your own mining. The store does that for you with a huge variety of choices. Does this sound like I'm a fan? You bet! My favorite place to spend some time and money. more

Long-time Customer 5/16/2010

I've been a customer of this proprietor for 22 years. Turns out the owner of the store is an experienced geologist who respects and appreciates the mystical properties of rocks, minerals and fossils. Everyone who works there has an incredible breadth and depth of knowledge about rocks, gems and minerals. The owner is such an easy-going, friendly guy who also can explain things without insulting any one. more

Very Irate Customer 4/10/2010

I just went to the enchanted rock garden, told the owner I was looking for rocks to break up into powder and tiny pieces, and sand. I told him I wanted to make jewelry with it. After breaking the stones I was going to inlay the pieces into wood. I asked are the stones toxic at all and he said no. I purchased 2 stones. Let me say before today that was one of my favorite stores. When I got home I decided to research the stones further. I am furious!! He sent me home with 2 toxic things. One containing lead and the other so toxic that it is compared to arsenic in humans. more

Beautiful, educational, magical! 1/7/2009

I have been a collector and regular customer at this store for years and cannot praise it enough!! It definitely bears out the name of Enchanted. The variety of stones, crystals and fossils is amazing, and their beauty takes one's breath away. The proprietor is a walking encyclopedia of academic and practical knowledge on his merchandise, and is highly trustworthy. The atmosphere of the place is peaceful and low-key. One can browse as long as one likes without feeling pressured to buy. Almost like visiting a museum. All my friends love the place, including my 6-year-old granddaughter who has become an enthusiastic collector as a result of our visits to this place! more

WOW - what a store! 11/20/2006

I spent about an hour and a half in the store and was still finding new treasures! This is the best rock store I have ever seen! There were all kinds of rocks, minerals, fossils here. Beautiful specimens! I think I was actually drooling as I walked around admiring the rocks in this store! There are large amethyst geodes, calcite chunks, spheres and orbs made of anything stone you could think of. I had a hard time trying to stay within my budget but there is something for everyone who loves rocks and fossils. There are small scientific samples, beads, pendants, rough rocks, polished stones, large chunks of beautiful stuff. I loved it and will be a regular customer from now on. Go there, you will see what I mean. It's awesome! more
