my friend refered me to down town dental after i had a bad experience with my current dentist at the time. First thing you will notice when walking in is that it is clean and full of happy upbeat people. when they walked my to my chair i was amazed with the veiw i had of all down town!! Lisa was so nice and docter bailey was a whole lot better working with. He explain everything so well and in a way i could understand and made it able for me to get a filling that was much needed right there on the spot due to a cancellation. I've had dental insurance for a while, but haven't taken advantage of it because I didn't know who to go to in Portland. Well, a broken tooth made it a necessity to visit someone, so after checking MetLife's list of approved providers, I decided on Downtown Dental due to their location and the reviews I read here. From the first phone call I felt welcome and cared for. They even called back twice the day I called to let me know of cancellations to get me in sooner. From the staff in the office, to the dental assistant, Kelly, to Dr. Bailey, I felt respected and included in the process. Vickie helped me get signed up for the Care Credit payment program, which helped me with the costs not covered by my insurance. Dr. Bailey was kind and gentle, and I didn't even feel the needle when he numbed me, but good! I was still slightly numb four hours later, but that's okay. They have state of the art equipment and work quickly and skillfully. Like someone else said, I look forward to going back! Pros: Warm, welcoming and excellent care. Cons: None more

Needing to find a Dentist in a hurry due to a toothache I stumbled upon Downtown Dental Care. ever since my first visit I have been going to Dr. Bailey. I have been seeing Dr. Bailey for a couple years now and every time I feel very welcome. I really like this office because you get treated better than any other dentist. I have been to many different dentists in the past and never have been happy about them. I used to hate going to the dentist but after seeing Dr.Bailey i know I will always have a great visit. I have been going to down town dental for 4 years now and have not had a bad experience yet and will recommend it to anyone out there looking for a dentist!! They also have two offices now one being down town and the other being off sunny side. Which makes it a even better choice! Go to down town dental today and you wont be disappointed!! I recently moved to Portland and was looking for a dentist up here when I got Downtown Dental Care's brochure in the mail. I decided to try it out and I wasn't disappointed.\r Leslie cleaned my teeth and took x-rays. I really appreciated how she walked through everything with me and explained my x-rays and told me facts and tips about taking better care of my teeth. I've never had such an educational dentist appointment. I really appreciated that she took her time with me and didn't rush through anything. Dr. Baily was also very kind and did a thorough job checking my teeth. \r My teeth never felt so clean and I even got a take home whitening kit for free! I have been afraid of dentists since my first procedure as a child. So I was not shy about admitting that on arrival.\r The dental assissant was very comforting and friendly, and Dr. Bailey assured me of my comfort immediately upon greeting me. \r They spent more time assuring that I would feel no pain than they did with the actual tooth extraction, which is exactly what I'd hoped for.\r By the time they started to operate, I felt nothing. it was over before I knew it. they were very respectful throughout the entire procedure.\r For the first time in 30 years I can go to the dentist without worrying. If you are looking for a very friendly, professional, state of the art dentist, look no more. Dr. Lance Bailey and his crew do a great job of making my visits easy, quick and pain free. While in Portland with my husband on a business trip, I had a tooth crack and a big piece fall off, on a Saturday of course! I was due to fly back to Houston in four days and was nervous that the tooth would get increasingly worse and I'd be boarding a flight in pain or the pressure of the cabin might cause pain.I looked up emergency dental care online and Dr. Bailey was the first dentist I called and I left a message to see if they could work me in on the Monday. Much to my surprise I got a call from Dr. Bailey himself, about 10 minutes later! 5:30 pm on a Saturday! This is unheard of! He said they would love to help me out and could certainly fit me in on Monday but he would be more than happy to see me Sunday!? Dr. Marcus Welby would be proud of fellow medical professionals such as this! :) The office was lovely, Kelly his assistant was adorable and talented and Dr.Bailey gave me the first injection of Novocaine that was utterly painless-it felt 'needle less'! My crown was done in office on the spot, and in about 2 hours, i was on my way with a gorgeous new crown, pain free and happy as a clam! I was hiking up Multnomah Falls an hour later! I only wish I lived here or Dr.Bailey would relocate to Houston! Thank you Dr. Bailey and Kelly and anyone who has you as a dentist, is very fortunate indeed. I don't like going to the dentist, I never have. That has changed with the folks at Downtown Dental Care. I have never been treated so well by a dentist's office in my entire life. I am a flight attendant for a certain LUV airline and I tell you that they definitely live up to the level of service that I expect! \r \r I was able to get a first appointment quickly. I was greeted with a genuine warm smile when I came in. They have bottled water and Starbucks frappuccino drinks in a fridge in the lobby! I was already impressed. Dr Bailey continued the streak of friendliness and warmth. I felt wanted and appreciated. After my cleaning I immediately raved about my experience to my friends and one of my friends went in. We both got our free $300-value tooth-whitening system. When I went in to get my system yesterday, one of the trays didn't fit properly. They immediately took another mold and had it ready 24 hours later. That's VERY impressive. When I came in today to get my system, they had a gift basket waiting for me. \r \r I am blown away by this level of service. You'd think its just a dentist's office. Not this one. I can honestly say that it is a pleasure to come in as a patient and I will refer all of my friends there. You would be wise to make an appointment here and see for yourself how good they are. I've been coming to this office for about 12 years and it's hands down the best dental office I've ever been. The transition from Dr.Lopez made me nervous, and I warned that there were ""big shoes to fill"" but they've definitely stepped it up in service. I had an emergency on a holiday weekend and I called the office number expecting a call back on the next monday. Dr. Adams called me in a few hours and met me at the dental office (which was supposed to be closed) and took care of me. I was expecting some emergency fee or some kind of bill and it was all done at no charge! I've found that they are a little pricey but it's well worth knowing that you will be taken care of. As long as I'm in Portland this is where I will be getting my mouth taken care of! more
