I've been to K. Charles, Regis, and a number of very expensive hair salon's and they've always screwed up my hair. I've seen that some other individuals have bashed this place, but Lee has cut my hair fantastically on repeated occasions. Great place, alright prices. more

Flower rocks, I couldn't be happier with her work!! 7/21/2010

I recently had Blood Red chunks put in my hair. Flower was quick and informative. I payed 30 to 40 dollars less any salon in the city. They have a new customer for as long as they are open!!! Pros: Amazing price, quality service Cons: none from my visit more

Not Thrilled!! 7/3/2010

I hate posting this, because I really WANT to like this place for what it's trying to be. Unfortunately, they (or at least the girl who did my color) just do not seem to have the knowledge and/or experience. My color totally SUCKS!! Some of my highlights are 1/2 an inch from the scalp, some are 1/4 inch, some are a full inch. I now have to go have somebody else fix this. I have taken forever to get around to getting my hair done, and now that I have, I really regret it. Bad experience. Pros: Ok haircut Cons: Awful color more

The Best Hair Place in San Antonio 6/19/2010

I've been coming to Doo or Dye since we moved here in 2006 (we're a military family, so I've been to quite a few places around the country). This is the best place! Not only does it have a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, but all of the people are nice and fun to talk to. I love coming to see Rainey. She's genuine, fun, and always does an amazing job. I've had shoulder-length hair, pixie-cuts, and I just recently had it dyed a dark red. She's even cut my boys' hair before. They really can do it all here. This is definitely the place to go for styles and dyes! Pros: vast knowledge of various styles, comfortable atmosphere more

my transition to doo or dye 2 has left all customer service and interaction solely in the hands of my employees unfortuneately i cant be in two places at once, that being said, i truely am interested and want to resolve any and all disappointments or complaints that have been an issue. BIG mistake 11/28/2009

Don't bother calling back to complain...they screen calls and hate to deal with adversity. Just awful crappy hair crappy place. Really would be a mistake. Hair takes awhile to grow back or get used to...don't risk it!!! It can be costly, because you know they won't be there to help. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

Horrible to say the least 10/5/2009

Horrible. No customer service, everyone has a chip on there shoulder and to dumb to see clients as oppertunities. I have gone several times (about 4-5 times) and even sent business over there. It was hit or miss, but judging by there products and education background, should've been a clue. I know they are opening a new one off 1604 and redland area....they'll have a rude awakening if they don't get some TALENT. I wish them the best, but I would definetly not reccommend them. You have about a 20% chance you will leave happy and satisfied. Good luck getting a call back if you have a problem with the way your hair turned out. Including myself this is from about 5 different past clients. It is not worth getting your hair screwed up. Pros: BYOB--cheap Cons: Ruined hair, botched cuts more

GREAT SALON 4/6/2009

I take my son to see Rainey and she does a FABULOUS!!! job with his hair. I thought I would go in and see if Rainey would be able to do the same with me. I went in for hair color I needed something different I work in an accounting office and wanted something a little edgy but not to noticeable to interfere with my job and the dress code. She suggested two different colors to put in my hair, gave her the o.k. I told her I trusted her with the choices of color and to lets get started. The end results were FANTASTIC!!! Rainey took her time which I thought was great other salons that I have gone to make me feel like they are in a hurry and want to get me in and out of the salon, Rainey took her time and it looked like she wanted to get the job done right. Great salon I will be back to see Rainey....Oh I recommended this salon to my two sisters, they see Ty both of my sisters hair looks Great!! and I will recommend this salon to everyone I know. more

a hidden gem 3/10/2009

this salon is so great! No nonsense salon! They advertise by word of mouth so you know they must be good! Lee is my guy, and it's always a good cut, he seems to understand how hair works, where to put the body and where to let it grow. I've never been dissapointed and you know it's a great cut when it isn't noticable, it should look natural. And you can't beat the price! Also they don't mind when I bring my one year old, she hangs out in the stroller, or plays with the receptionist's daughter more

Fantastic Salon 1/15/2009

I couldn't be happier with my experience at Doo or Dye. Don't let the ""not for the faint of heart"" fool you. If you're a down to earth person, you'll have no issue at all. My coworker recommended Lee or Brianna, but due to scheduling I had Marcus and could not have been more pleased. He is absolutely wonderful! All of the stylists were very welcoming and friendly. It definitely seemed like a well run establishment with happy employees, and I LOVE my cut and style. I received a great consultation too. They definitely know what they're doing. I didn't even need to explain what I wanted. He looked at my hair, and I asked if I wanted exactly what I had in mind. If you're apprehensive about giving it a whirl, don't be. I've found my new salon. more

My girlfriends at work introduced me to Doo or Dye. Its not for the faint-hearted. However, if you want a great style cut or color--for a VERY reasonable price try it out. I was always impressed by the owner's styling and color. Each of the stylists are great for different jobs they do (ask the owner--he would probably recommend someone if you tell him what kind of style you are looking for); usually its $22 for haircuts or $28 w/ blow-dry and style. You'd probably want to call about color. They do take credit cards-but its more cost effective for them to handle cash. \r \r Pros: Great Haircuts and Inexpensive Cons: Not somewhere I'd take my mother--that could be bad or good thing ;) more

I've been to Doo or Dye Twice, and I loved the service I received. They are down to earth\r and really friendly. I went there to get my hair bleached, and the results were amazing.\r I would definitely recommend having your hair done there!!!\r :D Pros: Comfortable, many windows you can stare out of, great service Cons: If you have respiratory problems, it might agitate more

city search is used for slander: be careful 8/6/2008

This is Briana from Doo or Dye. I just want everyone to know that anyone with a PERSONAL problem can get on city search and lie, we have had them remove stuff before but it is really hard to do so I'll address it here. First of all to the girl who wrote that last review, what are you twelve? You can't even spell ""there"", second of all I don't know why you are trying to spread lies but everyone who actually goes to Doo or Dye knows that John doesn't even have a station anymore and has not done ANY womens or GIRLS hair in years.Only a coward has to get on the internet where they can be annonomous to try to attack someone. Real mature. Also to any people who actually do want to come to Doo or Dye, we are a very relaxed environment, that means that there is plobably about ten different ways you could get offended there, if your uptight you may just want to skip it and try a corporate place, you can google our website and see some true reviews so check it out and see if it might be for you.
