Great Programs 11/30/2007

CCP is a good school and can fit the needs of many people from recent high school graduates to older students seeking a higher education or a second career. Community College has many excellent academic programs that will allow for you to have secure employment and a rewarding career like all of their Allied Health programs which are some of the best and most inexpensive in the region. more

Good place 11/30/2007

This is a good place to go for school especially if your funds are limited. You get a top notch education for a fraction of the price. Many of the teachers have come from top name universities and demand just as much or more from their students as the universities do. they have very good student and faculty tutuors who are there to help you at all times. The teachers also are very helpful and go out of their way to help too. I would recommend very much going to acquire an Associates deree here and applying for thier dual admissions programs they have with the local universities for your Bacelors degrees. more

One of the Best Choices a person can make... 3/25/2006

The Community College of Philadelphia is very diverse, just as you may expect from a community college. There are many different races, ages, and the programs are just as diverse. This college is very well put together. If you want you should go visit, and check out all the different groupings of classes. There's the art section, music, science, english, architecture, dental, nursing, etc. This is also a great deal for your money. The teachers are excellent . There are also many 4 yr Universities have a deal with Community College who may indeed take many of your transfer credits.... so you don't even have to stay and get an Associates there if not desired. Check it out. And as for the registration line... that is the only thing that is not very well put together. There are soo many more pro's than con's that I suggest you use your brain before huffing and puffing and blowing the house down.... don't hold your breath- just do something good for yourself. more

Isn't really worth it 2/11/2006

I agree CCP is the cheapest for education you can probably go but they are generally a headache to deal with. My teachers were nice and fine. They were never a problem. The problem lies in the organization or should I say lack of organization. \r \r Registering for classes is a joke. You stand in long lines that create major headaches. How they have it set up it takes 2-3 hours to probably hear the classes you wanted are already filled up.\r \r I registered for classes but was told a week before my classes started that they were cancelled by mail. Luckily, I checked online and I was able to figure out that my other classes were dropped. I then had to wait in a extremely long line to register for classes. Fortunately, I was able to get the classes I wanted.\r \r Another incident, I registered by phone before when they allowed it. In the book, the class said T-Th and I kept trying to add classes around that time frame on MWF that would not interfere with the classes but couldn't. Come fo find more

Very good staff 11/13/2005

I haven't dealt with the administration, but I will say that the staff here are great. They love their jobs and take pride in their work. You can tell that they are bright people. This community college offers a lot of different courses, at convenient times so that even working people can earn a degree. They offer courses ranging from dental hygiene to mechanic skills. (auto) The campus is very nice. Part of it is in a former bank building, and part of it is in a new technology center. It is not that big, and you shouldn't get lost. CCP is in the Spring Garden neighborhood, near many great cafes and Whole Foods Market. more

A Very Good Community College 6/24/2005

Community College of Philadelphia is a great school. Set in an easy to locate area near center city, it is chock full of very interesting students from different areas. The Professors are excellent. I majored in Psychology while at CCP and learned a lot. I have several friends who now attend and all have good experiences. Registering for classes and standing in line at the Bonnell building for Financial aid and Academic Issues can be a pain, but the actual academic programs are top notch. more
