I started with Comcast in 1997. At that time, I was paying about $14/month for basic basic cable. Since then, I have "upgraded" to digital cable. Two years ago, when we went digital, it cost about $40.00 per month. Now we are paying almost $65 per month for the same service. I love the options that I get with digital cable, but the cost is way too much. more

Wireless Internet 8/31/2005

Most Broadband service providers (DSL or Cable) offer wireless packages these days. Comcast is a good place to start if you're OK with cable. Checkout their Website for wireless packages and pricing. Then head over to one of the local DSL providers and see if they've got something comparable that meets your needs. I think it's better to get the wireless package through your service provider in any case because you'll get help setting it up and maintaining it as part of the deal. Good luck! more

High Prices 8/20/2005

When we moved to this area the only choice for cable tv was comcast. Over the years the prices got higher and higher but no other services were offered for the price increase. The quality of the picture was very good, and customer service was pretty helpful. Now that we have more choices I have switched to satellite. The prices are very high also. more

DSL connection 6/30/2005

I have tried the DSL connection from Seattle Comcast to use the Internet while housesitting at someone's house, and I definitely noticed that it was faster than the dial-up service I've used before. It seemed like a pretty good deal, although one thing I noticed was that I really only noticed the improvement when i was downloading big files. more

Shop around! 6/15/2005

I have had more problems with Comcast than I like to think about. The one thing that makes me the angriest is that when they go down they wont credit you for time off of your bill even if THEY know that you didnt have service. You have to call and request that a credit be made. The kicker on this is that you are going to be waiting on hold for a long time before you get ahold of anyone. I think this is repulsive. I have many other complaints about issuea that Ive had with them personally and all I can say is I would avoid them at all costs. You will be paying in more ways than one! When I have had to speak with their technical folks I have found that I know much more about things than they do. IT can be pretty frustrating. more
