Chez Celeste

Four of us visited Chez Celeste on a friday evening, choosing to sit at the bar for appetizers and cocktails. There was only one server working, which we were quite understanding about...until a group of ten came in over 15 minutes after we had arrived and they were seated and served water before our order had even been taken. The waiter quickly took down our drink and appetizer order and then proceeded to serve the table of 10 their wine before even providing us with our cocktails. Horrible service, even if there was only one server. After over 30 minutes of waiting, we left, never having been served our cocktails or appetizers. I have no basis for rating the food but when the service is this pathetic, there is no way any of us will ever return, which is unfortunate as we are always looking for a great french restaurant. I love this restaurant, as it is a great place to bring people and really socialize. Sometimes the service is a little spotty, but all is forgiven after tasting the food. Try the trout, you not regret it. I also highly recommend their coffee and apple tart. Wine is good and not marked-up too much. Pros: the trout!, the coffee!, the apple tart! more

The quality of the food was sub-standard. The server/owner was arrogant. The coquille saint jacques were a travisty to the real dish, however the result was quite tasty. We even had to re-use utensils through the entire meal. After having made reservations, in an empty restaurant we were seated in the window such that the waiter could not reach all of us... so that we acted as our own servers. The entire episode was embarrassing for an alleged top-rated restaurant. Never again! more

Chez Celeste offers truly delightful food for eminently reasonable prices, both for lunch and dinner. Highly recommended! more
