the food in this restaurant is bad tasting. The service is lousy and i see lots of pests running around and into the kitchen. This place is bad. I would never come back to this place!!! Cons: The food is bad, pests are running around and the service is lousy more

Horrible! Do Not Eat Here! 9/4/2006

I chose to order from Cherry Street Chinese because of the reviews Cons: the food and the service more

Disappointing 12/16/2005

Although I appreciated the free appetizers of fried crisps, they tasted like they came out of a bag; a bag that's been sitting around, open, for a while. I got one of the house specials -- veggies in a taro bird's nest. The veggies were boring, and the bird's nest again tasted like it was fried several days before. The decor was relatively nice, and service was fine. Pros: ample seeting avlble Cons: ample seeting unused more

Delicious and Unique Chinese Food 5/5/2003

I was visiting Phila on vacation, and I had seen this place featured on a FoodTV show. I wanted to try it, and i was not disappointed. The dumplings were light as air and bursting with fresh vegetable flavors. The Drunken ""Chicken"" dish was also memorable and delicious. Service was friendly and very helpful making suggestions for dishes to try. I highly recommend this restaurant. Pros: Wonderful Food, Unusual menu choices, healthy veggie cuisin more

good but I prefer Harmony Vegetarian 3/5/2003

I went here recently after reading good reviews on a number of websites, especially regarding their mock chicken (wheat gluten) dishes. The wonton soup and springrolls were excellent, but I was not as impressed by the sesame ""chicken"", which was not as tasty as I expected and which reheated horribly, or the jade dumplings, which I found to be a bit heavier than I would have liked with too much of a seaweed taste. Their Singapore Rice Noodle was good but nothing spectacular. I found that I much prefer Harmony Vegetarian Restaurant to Cherry Street Vegetarian (my boyfriend agreed), but I would definitely try Cherry Street again. Perhaps I would have liked them better had I tried different entrees. Note to those avoiding dairy - I believe this restaurant is vegan. Pros: good vegan food, quick service Cons: expensive to park, inconsistent quality more

Oriental feast 10/4/2002

The best tasting Chinese vegetarian food in the Philadelphia. Great flavors. Looks and tastes authentic from the Orient. I lived in Taiwan for a number of years, and the flavors are identical. Excellent choices on menu. Try the dumplings, you will not be sorry!! Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly staff, Quick service Cons: Off the beaten path, Parking can be hard more
