Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art is a wonderful way to spend a day. The grounds are beautiful. Pools, fountains, statuary, and beautiful flowers make this place a wonderful place to visit. There is a gift shop and restaurant. There are many different events throughout the year, so check and see what great events they have coming up. more

Beauty Inside & Out 8/17/2005

The beauty of the perfectly manicured gardens outside is matched equally inside by the always inspiring artwork hanging on the wall and the beautiful traditional southern buildings that serve as the home base for the Cheekwood property. Originally built for some really rich people it's now open to all for a small fee. If you find yourself sick of the city life within Nashville and need to get out the serenity you are looking for can be found somewhere between the grass, the trees and the brooks that you'll find inside the gates at Cheekwood. Take your inside voices with you to Cheekwood, because even when your outside there, it still feels like you must speak softly so as not to disturb the beauty in its natural state. more

Beautiful! 8/6/2005

I have been to Cheekwood several times and enjoy it each time. The gardens are beautiful and they have tons to offer. They allow field trips for school aged children, daily camps in the summer with activities for kids, and they even rent out various parts of the gardens for weddings and receptions. The price for the wedding stuff is very reasonable too, considering the place and how nice it is. They also have the option of purchasing a yearly membership, which is nice. We have one and try to get over there fairly often. more
