Nice, patient salespeople 4/24/2011

I'm gonna preface with this; I didn't end up buying my car from them, I simply got a better warranty deal from a Ford store for the car I ended up buying than Carmax was offering.\r \r HOWEVER, I did spend a lot of time at the Orlando Carmax looking at cars. The sales representatives were patient and informative as I looked over every car I had interest in. They gave me the brass tacks on what the differences between the cars would be and were very up front about every possible additional charge; they even include their dealer fee in their price. Not sure if they'd want me to put full names here, but Jason was the first salesperson I talked to and he walked me around and helped me look at any and every car I wanted. He went on vacation, so the Senior Sales Consultant (something like that) Alexis took up the mantle and helped me out with my test drives. She was patient as we drove three cars (the daily limit for free test drives) and then looked at some additional cars as well.\r \r They ap more

Rip off!! 9/16/2010

Do NOT buy a car from Car Max Orlando,Fl\r \r My fiance' and I purchased a Nissan Frontier with fairly low miles 3 months ago. The used cars are not well cared for & serviced properly before purchase. I have already had to replace the two back tires because both of them had dry wrought! As well as the compressor on for the a/c went bad & I had to shell out $650 on a brand new one! What a hassle to have to come up with extra money beyond what my monthly payment is, plus the inconvience of being stranded on the side of the road. Ridiculous!! more

DO NOT try to sell your car here!!! 9/12/2010

Brought my car in to sell it. After a sit down presentation on how the appraisal process works and why they give you the best price available based on all this data...blablabla...you will be offered 1/2 of Kelly Blue Book TRADE IN value...equivalent to 1/3 the private party value. If you need immediate money and don't mind flushing money away - go for it. Otherwise sell it on ebay or another car sales site. more

Never buy a car here! 3/22/2009

Definitely believe the previous reviews expressing how shady this place is and seriously: BUYER BEWARE!!!Long story short:- They exploited my inexperience and knowledge of car buying.- They charged me well over 20% of what the car was worth, along with only taking $50 for my vehicle (worth at least $1,500). - They use scare tactics, intimidation, and talk down to you.- They LIE! They said that if I did not come in immediately to refinance, they would repossess my vehicle. (Note: every time you refinance or initially finance, they get a commission.) When I asked to get this in writing, they made every excuse possible. I explained that they must get it in writing immediately, because I was calling my lawyer. They THEN backed off, and claimed ignorance, "my mistake.. I misunderstood".-The vehicle that I bought has had CONTINUOUS problems, and their promises to fix the issues were all fabrications to try to get more money.. They charge WAY too much to fix them! I got it cheaper by using an more

BEWARE of "no haggle pricing" 10/26/2006

I paid my first visit to CARMAX of Orlando based on a few friend's recommendations. As usual, I did my homework before I went. I had printed, solid information on my trade in value ($20,000) and the retail value of the vehicle I was interested in ($23,000). I knew in advance that the particular truck I was interested in was priced $2000 too high by CARMAX (they priced it at $25,000). I test drove the truck anyway, sat down with my salesman, and had my trade-in appraised. CARMAX appraised my vehicle at $16,000 and offered to roll the $4,000 of negative equity into my new loan. I tried not to laugh. I explained that I do not have negative equity and that their appraisal was incorrect. And further that I have documentation from three sources of my vehicle's trade in value. My salesman then explained that the added $4000 would only increase my payment by $50 or so. I politely asked him if he actually expected me to roll $4000 into a new loan on a vehicle that was priced $2000 too high to b more

Good-Bad 10/10/2006

Good selection of vehicles. Plenty of convertibles. If you like to price haggle, stay away. Professional sales staff. Fast and efficient process. Do not even consider the extended warranty. Its ruining their reputation. You will never get by with the advertised deductible. PROS: Fast & efficient car buying process; clean low mileage cars CONS: Extended warranty is a fly-by-night farce more

Good Selection 6/7/2006

Good selection of cars, excellent sales personnel and friendly environment. NO Pressure here...they take the time to explain every thing to you. The cars are well shown and well maintained. PROS: Nice shopping experience CONS: more

I would not buy a car at Carmax Orlando 3/4/2006

I recently was in the market for a used, late model sedan.\r I went to see what Carmax had to offer. The air of the place is harried. The customer contact person was loud and stressed out. We test drove a car, and did not end up purchasing the car because the poor condition it was in. This was a high priced luxury car, but it was grubby and poorly maintained. I don't feel that it was a good reflection upon the dealership. I got the feeling that some of the cars ther were not well card for, so buyer beware. more

Love no-haggle prices! 11/6/2005

We've bought our last 3 cars from Carmax. Two used and one new. We've "traded in" 2- they actually offer a fair price and you aren't obligated (or even pressured at all) to buy a car from Carmax when you sell yours to them. The last car we bought was actually a new Chrysler since they had a great money back deal that made a new one the same price as used. The no-haggle prices are also on the new cars. Salesmen aren't pushy and make it just seem like they are there just in case you need assistance. PROS: Fair prices, great salesmen CONS: Don't buy the extended warranty from them more

  • In Short
Instead of pushing for commission, each salesperson makes the same amount of money, so the sticker price really is the sticker price. Each of the 300-400 SUVs, vans, light trucks...
