Thanks, once again to Will who made it all so simple when my inside rear view mirror fell off.

Very dissapointed 9/7/2011

I did an online search to find these guys. The years of ranking best of... in the City Paper and the close proximity to my home made it an easy choice to try them. I dropped off my car and agreed to the inspection charge($40.00 more than competitors), and was convinced they would do a great job. Four days later, no work was done on my car, and they still charged me the fee for the diagnostic(which was poorly explained and written, by a man who liked to make up nicknames for me). I will never go there again. Overpriced and horrible service. more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. UNPROFESSIONAL, SLOW, RIPOFF 5/28/2011

one of the worst experiences ever; a COMPLETE RIPOFF. They are completed OVERPRICED and deliever HORRIBLE SERVICE. First, it took them 2 days to diagnosis a defunct starter; even though i told them that was the problem. Took another 2 days to fix the starter even though it shoulda taken only an hour. After driving off the lot, I noticed my gravel shield was scrapping against the ground. After returning to the shop within 2 hours and showing them the problem, they refused to accept responsibility and instead blamed me, saying I must have damaged it in the interim. WORST CAR SHOP DO NOT GO HERE more

I really want to like them, but...sorry. 3/22/2010

I had been taking my car to Brentwood for years as my parents also use them. They have always been pleasant and I never had any problems. However, when my 15-year old car started making a screaching noise and I took it in, they informed me that it would be $2800 worth of 'necessary' work. It was only when I said that I wanted a second opinion because that was more money then the value of the car at this point, that the 'necessary' price started coming down (I believe to around $2300). What really got me to leave was when he then also started bullying me, along the lines of 'Well, if you don't fix this one, then what will you do for a car? $2800 isn't enough for you to buy a NEW car, so what are you going to do?, etc.' (yes, I am a woman, sadly perhaps this matters to this story) Worst part- after finally telling him that that wasn't really his business and I would be coming to pick up the car, I did take it for a second opinion, and got the screaching noise completely fixed for $250. I specifically asked about all the other 'necessary' fixes that Brentwood had recommended and finally got an honest answer- yes, they would be good to do, but not necessary from a safety perspective, and particularly on an older car. So I don't know what to think, would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but am pretty sure I'm not going back. more

beware 11/29/2009

Good: sometimes thorough...sometimes. Bad: no service, crazy price, lying, bullying, ripoff, slow, failure to follow through, chaotic, disrespect. Improvements: dont care, never going there again. Other: 1.on my MD state inspection they noted 1of2 license plate lights & a turn signal busted that werent busted when I brought in, denied doing it. 2. asked to repair a flat, they refused insisting on two new tires (their liability supposedly), but kept the replaced-but-still-good tire (despite my request to put it on the spare) & bullyed my wife into extra charges, only relented when I threatened theft charges.3.Agreed to inspect my transmission, kept for a WE, couldnt tell me anything re the problem,charged$90. more

They saved the day! 6/3/2009

It was closing time for them but my car broke down nearby. I walked into Brentwood in a desperate state. Ed had it towed to the shop and arranged for me to get a ride home. They fixed the problem quickly and I have not had any problems since. I am now a HAPPY Brentwood Customer. I would not think of going elsewhere!! more

Repaired the family SUV perfectly 10/6/2005

My husband took our Ford Expedition here for new brakes as well as a oil change and was thoroughly impressed with the customer service and the quick turnaround for returning our vehicle. If you live near the Baltimore area this is the place to come to have your vehicle properly looked at and repaired. more

Very reputable mechanic 8/16/2005

Brentwood Automotive has been around for a while (since 1976) and it is a family owned business. They have a great reputation and they have been voted best in Baltimore several times by the Baltimore City Paper. They do all Japanese cars and alot of European makes as well (including trucks and SUVs). More, the warranty all of their repairs for 12 months/12000 miles. If this was not enough, they also offer 24 hour drop off service and local shuttle service. Brentwood Automotive is not cheap but many people agree that it is surely worth it. more
