There aren't too many bookstores in the western (Wacker Drive) part of downtown Chicago, but if you were looking for one walking toward the train stations then stop in at Stuart Brent's on Washington. They have all of the best sellers in hardback, as well as a paperback section as well. Brent's also has a children's book section, and a nice selection of non-fiction and reference-type books. They also have a great selection of non-Hallmark or American Greetings offbeat greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries and other occasions. Brent's also has Chicago postcards and books regarding Chicago landmarks and what to sightsee or do when visiting this area, which is helpful if you're a tourist. There is no parking lot. And while there is limited street parking, there are numerous restrictions and then you have to feed the parking meter. (Chicago police are very pro-active with regards to writing tickets for parking violations in downtown Chicago.)
