This is a very nice little bookstore on Broadway. Everytime I walk by I am tempted to go in because just the window boasts such a great selection of books.
They have great kids books especially and though I am a lot older now I love to browse through them and reminisce about those books that I used to read all the time when I was a kid.
The selection of books here is great and this bookstore has a really friendly atmosphere. You will really love this little bookstore.

The Seminary Coop is located across the street from the University of Chicago main quadrangle. It's loosely affiliated with the school - a large part of their business comes from selling books for classes - but it is by no means a 'school bookstore'. The Seminary Coop's business is about serious scholarly books in the humanities and social sciences. They have a vast selection available for browsing and if you're visiting the University, I highly recommend dropping in if you have any interests along those lines.

The first thing anyone who moves into the area should do is buy shares in the Seminary Co-op, which gets you a 10% discount on everything. In the maze of passages can be found pretty much any scholarly book of interest, as well as course books for the U of C. The staff are friendly and helpful, and can order anything for you as well. The bookstore publishes a catalog with great commentary on new and forthcoming books, as well. It may be both hot and crowded much of the time, but this is one of the greatest bookstores anyone will ever go into, for academic books.

This is the best bookstore I've ever been to. Not a used bookstore, not a Borders, not even a Barnes and Noble, Quimby's offers the largest variety of local and national zines, independent publications and reviews.
The Staff is friendly, cool, and Quimby's isn't one of those places where they watch you like hawks, sure you'll steal all their wares if they're not careful. No- Quimbys is a small bookstore that trusts its patrons and doesn't insult anybody's tastes, looks or interests. They swing towards the more DIY, artistic and experimental sides of literature, which is refreshing in this time of Oprah's book club, overpriced bestseller fever. I wanted to take home the whole store!
THe only reason it lost a star (and i debated over this for a while) was because it didn't necessarily have the largest variety of books, so I can't go there for classics, or anything. Still, what a great bookstore- we need more like them!

This is a great place to go to browse around for a few books. They have books on many different topics and all of them are at pretty discounted prices and this is because many of them are used. However, I usually only go here to browse around for general reading. While I may get better prices here than other places, the selection is better at the bigger stores and they have more copies books there. But if your looking for something good to read at a good price, then you will definitely find that here.

Great place to look around and reminisce about childhood comics! They’ve got a huge selection of back issues and new titles! They also have figurines and memorabilia. The owner is extremely nice and helpful. He once told us about an awesome comic book show that wasn’t well publicized and we had a great time thanks to him!

The prices are what make this place a sure bet for coming back. I've gone to this bookstore for years,they have been in biz a long time. they have a wide variety of used and rare books,and this store is where i have found rare books that i have been wanting. the owner is nice and willing to help you find things. they also sell records and cd's there also. store is jammed packed with stuff...kinda hard to walk through,but it did'nt really bother me as i always find what i am looking for.

This is my favorite Borders, because it is always so quite. The ones that are closer to downtown have a tendency to have a lot of tourists swimming around in them looking for books on Chicago and it is hard to sit down and relax. This place has a great staff.
