Great classes 9/22/2009

I go the Body Business - Anderson for the Yoga and Pilates. The Yoga class taught by Mary Esther is so good I feel relaxed the whole day afterwards (...and much cheaper than therapy :-) I don't use/care about the machines very much - don't really know about those - but the classes I've been to are perfect for me. Pros: Excellent Yoga and Pilates; real people with real bodies Cons: Yoga room should have wood floor, but still ok more

I Miss You Body Business!!!! 3/5/2008

After seeing all the recent awards and great reviews I am absolutely certain that I will be rejoining Body Business after my current gym membership is over. The gym I go to now is cheaper and has more availability in regards to hours, but those are the ONLY advantages. Everyone at BB makes you feel welcome and are genuinely happy you are there. If you are intimidated by gyms and the ""mascots"" that parade around at other gyms, then BB is the place to feel safe and actually grow and get healthy in a comprehensive way. The staff are very helpful and you really do look forward to working out! The members are also friendly and they have big open windows with a great outdoor view and beautiful scenery. My current gym has NO windows and lots of obnoxious televisions playing the latest J-Lo song, it's filthy and the staff could care less that you are there. If you are looking for cheap that's what you'll get, but if you want genuine quality and better overall health, then BB is well worth EVERY penny. I miss you terribly Body Business. You're the BEST in town! Pros: Friendly, small, good parking, great trainers Cons: Hours of operation are limited, especially on the weekend more

May not be the gym for you... 1/26/2008

I've been a member a lot of different types of gyms in different states/areas. This gym is focused on the elderly population of Austin! They have no tv's and do not allow cell phones. If you are under 60 yrs. old, you may want to check around. The staff was very nice but the equipment is far from state of the art and there are very few machines... All in all, a pretty odd gym. Pros: comfortable for older people Cons: NOT what 99% of those under 60 years old are looking for more

A Great Neighborhood Place 5/10/2007

You walk in this place and immediately feel at home. A great place to go before or after work and feel welcomed, and people really get to know you! If I hadn't moved downtown, I would've been pressed to keep my membership here. Classes all rock, great enthusiasm in staff and other members...a really fun place to be. Pros: Never parking issues, usually easy to find the machine you want, great instructors Cons: Old facility, sometimes shower issues more

Healthy Lifestyle 5/10/2007

I have been a member of Body Business for over 5 years. I am most attracted to how this club promotes a healthy mind and body. Not everyone is born with the ""skinny gene"" and some are just ""wired"" to carry more weight. I have always been greeted with a smile at the front door and called by my first name. I like the intimacy that it offers. This makes all members feel more comfortable no matter what they weigh. The club is ALWAYS clean and never has a stinch in the air that you find at other facilities. Overall I enjoy the intimacy of this club and the knowledge that the staff possess to help if I have questions. I have tried several different aspects of the club; aerobic classes, spa, personal training, cardio equipment and this club is second to none when it comes to delivering the best available equipment and knowledge. The music is always upbeat and never offensive, the staff are readily available for questions and the patrons working out are friendly, happy and geared toward a healthier body and mind not just bigger muslces to match a spray on tan! I would recommend Body Business to anyone! Pros: great staff, equipment and knowledge- adequate parking- very clean more

Look Out! 2/28/2006

The initial allure of the gym is its most impressive features--you can sign up for machines 24 hours in advance and it caps its members so that the gym is comfortable. However, there are significant drawbacks--it has only a limited number of cardio machines (for the price, I'd expect A LOT more), you can only sign up for a particular kind of machine for 30 minutes (and watch out, if you mistakenly sign up for longer, a hawk-eyed member will tell the front desk) and the music they play is from the 50's and 80's. Overall, not as impressive as I thought it was going to be after seeing it a citysearch winner. Pros: 24 hr. res. machines, membership cap. Cons: hawk-eye members, cardio machine policy, the music they play. more

you guys rock! 2/26/2005

body business is located in a great area. the staff is outstanding! the equipment is wonderful! the place is clean! more

Great Health Club 12/9/2003

I have been a member of BodyBusiness almost since it opened. Having belonged to several gym in Austin prior to that, I can honestly say that this place is by far superior to all the others. The staff is very competent and friendly. The aerobics classes are great and offer a lot of variety. And, you won't find a cleaner health club facility in town. Highly Recommended! Pros: CLEAN, friendly, very professional more

Mr. 11/14/2003

Conveniently located, Body Business has the facilities & machines for everyone. What's more, the staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a great bunch of folks, staff & clients, you won't find a better combination. Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly Staff, Good Location more

The best classes in Austin! 11/10/2003

BodyBusiness has great classes and lots of them. I've belonged to gyms where the instructors come and go monthly. This place has some of the best instructors anywhere and many of them have been there for years which is rare these days. There's a wide variety too from super challenging spinning, kickboxing and power yoga to beginner classes like water aerobics and stretching classes. The staff is great and they make you feel welcome no matter what your fitness level. This place is worth visit! Pros: many classes, friendly staff, well-run and clean Cons: only one location more

Not your typical gym... 6/27/2003

After looking at several gyms, I decided on Body Business. I was very impressed with all of the classes offered and the relaxed atmosphere. I really like the Yoga and Pilates classes and have found a great personal trainer there too. If you are shopping around, look at this place before you join one of the chains. Pros: lots of classes, friendly staff, not crowded Cons: one location, prefer longer pool more

Shhh....it's a secret! 1/30/2003

BodyBusiness is a bit smaller than the mega warehouse style gyms but comfortable, clean and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. There's people of all different shapes and sizes and the place seems to have a great ""vibe"" and energy to it. People actually seem to be having fun with their workouts and there is very little pretense from the staff or members. It's one of the few places where soccer moms, 20-30 somethings and grandmothers can all get a good workout and seem to be ok with the mix of different types of people. I really like the variety of classes and the lack of crowds, escpecially after 5pm when I workout. Take a look at this place if you want a comfortable, clean and uncrowded club with tons of great classes and a great ""vibe"". Just don't tell too many others about it! Pros: Comfortable/friendly, tons of classes, not crowded Cons: one location, limited hours more

Clean,Secure and Sane 1/29/2003

It is a very professionally run gym that has a variety of classes to choose from. As well as being immaculately clean. Many places make you pay extra for the same classes that B Biz offers w/ their membership. Unlike most gyms that claim that they have trainers that will help you but are never to be found when you need them. There is always a staff member (in a red shirt) that is on the floor waiting to assist. Sometimes they will stand there their whole shift and no one will ask them a thing, but they are there just in case and they are all ACE certified Pros: Clean, Variety of Classes, Professional Cons: Pricey more

Fitness for the rest of us 10/17/2002

If all you want is weight machines and some aerobics classes, save your money and go to World Gym. For a more creative, personalized, healthy approach to wellness, check out Body Business. If you've already figured out that you need a little more variety to keep you interested, or that you need to avoid re-injury to your back/knees/etc, they have pilates, nia, aqua classes, and a few ideas I haven't seen anywhere else. I wish they had more weekend and evening hours. Still, for keeping me motivated and being well-suited for demographics beyond the 20-year-olds-in-perfect-health, they're the best thing in Austin. Pros: classes, instructors, pool Cons: hours more

A different gym (or better) 9/3/2002

BodyBusiness is different. Call them, get a free workout pass, look at their class chedule. What makes BodyBusiness great is their classes. Aqua classes are great, you get a good workout with water resistance and stay cool the whole time. Their PACE classes are super for everyone, but incredible for those new to working out. If you are looking to start working out, or if you like working out with other people who don't look like professional body builders, or if you like a laid back ""do your best"" atmosphere, or if you are interesting in aqua classes, try this gym out. If you are looking for only weights to lift, hate classes, and only want to work out with people who are already fit, go somewhere else. Pros: Aqua classes, Beginner classes more
